Here are just a few

14 = 2 x 7 and seven is the number of divine perfection. So 14 would be twice that. All numbers in Scripture have spiritual significance. If 14 speaks of divine perfection, 13 speaks of Satanic corruption. Thus the superstition about the number 13. Many multi-storey buildings DO NOT have a 13th floor. And Friday the 13th is taboo.

The point is that the number fourteen (14) is established to have a pattern of significant meaning in the Old Testament...and then it shows up in the New Testament also, but with little regard...as if it meant nothing.

Why not 10 and 4, which also equals 14? The number 10 and its multiples 100, 1000 etc. signifying the fullness of whatever is in view, and the number 4 symbolizing the universality of something. As long as we're speculating what would be the significance of the number 10 associated with the number 4, if any significance at all???

Indeed.

I am not big on use of the original languages, but it seems that 14 is like 7 (being a whole number without fractions), but that may not be true in all cases where it is used.

Perhaps someone else has some greater input to offer.

Actually the number 12 is more significant in Scripture than 10. Thus there will be twelve apostles sitting on twelve thrones and judging the twelve tribes of Israel in the Kingdom of God and Christ.

Getting back to the number 14, it occurs 26 times in 23 verses in the KJV. So it is indeed significant. What is remarkable is the number of times fourteen lambs (7 x 2) are mentioned in Scripture. That would signify Christ -- the perfect Lamb of God -- who took away the sin of the world.
