I came across this verse in today's devotional reading from Genesis 18.

18 The LORD appeared to Abraham[a] by the oaks[b] of Mamre ... He looked up and saw three men ... bowed down to the ground. 3 He said, “My lord, if I find favor with you, do not pass by your servant. 4 Let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree. 5 Let me bring a little bread, that you may refresh yourselves, and after that you may pass on—since you have come to your servant.”

It is implied these 3 men are angels. Yet, Abraham calls himself their servant, not the servant of the LORD. And Abraham calls them (one of them) his lord. What do you make of this?

One other thing. The Study notes reveal these 3 are Angels but that is not explicit from the text of the "3 men." What do you make of this? It seems analagous to projecting Satan onto the serpent in the Garden though missing as an explicit statement.

Chapter 19. Lot has 2 lords:
The two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed himself with his face to the earth 2 and said, “My lords, please turn aside to your servant's house and spend the night and wash your feet.

v13, "we" are about to destroy this place, meaning the lords - plural - above 2 angels.

v24, the LORD (not to be confused with the 2 lords above) rained down sulfur and fire.

How is this explained other than agency?
