What "good" father ever wants to see his family sick,poor,and living under the curse of poverty?? God is the Good Father of born-again believers!

The real question which you have not asked is what is prosperity? For some people today that is having one meal a day. For another it is having butlers wait on you with a meal cooked by your chef. For another it is owning a Rolls Royce. For another it is owning a second hand mini. To say that God wants you to prosper begs the question.

I will tell you how the New Terstament Church understood prosperity. Having enough food to eat today and some left over for tomorrow. If you had that you were prosperous because it meant you were never in want. Unlike us, they did not stock up with a week's groceries.
