Romans 6:12-14
12) Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13) Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14) For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
We've been changed by Christ living in us. We are, like Him, dead to sin, and alive to God. We were ourselves dead, and have been made alive. That's the heart of where this passage says,
"as those that are alive from the dead"
This is literally, "those that are alive from among the dead ones".

Yes, we were all dead, dead in trespasses and sins, and we've been made alive. And now we are alive in Christ, seated in the heavenlies, hid with Christ in God.
In this world, what that means is, there is a dead humanity which fills this planet, and from those, we are now alive.
We mustn't confuse ourselves with the dead ones, lest we forget we are alive unto God, and begin to think, and act as the dead ones. To try to live life like the dead ones live.
We mustn't forget how profound the difference between the living and the dead. That we have the mind of Christ. We live unto God. Let's remember, that we always stand before an infinately loving Father Who cherishes us, Who rejoices over us, Who longs for us to know and receive the depths of His love!
A Father who will rejoice and sing when we are all home with Him!
And of course to be there to help one of the dead ones find life, what joy is that!
Much love!
