granted, this is out of context, but maybe not.

Isa 1:11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.

hence its not the blood of the covenant that pleases God, its the fulfillment of the covenant that pleases God.

hence its not what it took to get you cleansed for His Presence, its the fulfillment of what is of Him in you that pleases Him, His Presence with you.

Mat_3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

the fulfillment, not the sacrifice.

Now that is an excellent thought...and not one that I have mused upon before.
But yes, I can see, the sacrifice was the vehicle , door, entrance... the Way for us to come into union with The Father.

An excellent thought for the day.
Thank you.

Mat_3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

The fulfillment: Mercy of(in) the Son.

Hosea 6:6
[6] For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

Luke 6:36
[36] Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

Matthew 5:44-48
[44] But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; [45] That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. [46] For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? [47] And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others ? do not even the publicans so? [48] Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

2 Corinthians 2:15-17
[15] For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: [16] To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? [17] For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

What is that sweet savour, wouldn’t it be the Son’s mercy(triumph in Christ) given to us and is manifested as a testimony?

without researching it i'd say you're probably on to something there as far as sweet savour. it could go all the way back to what was "lost" in the garden and the restoration of that, as far as why it is so sweet.

Luk 3:38 Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.
