Jesus said “in the volume of the book it is written of me.” (Psalms 40: 7) (Hebrews 10: 7).
It is important to not forget God uses the physical to demonstrate His eternal plan. The Word was with God before the Creation; the Creation being brilliantly crafted so that mankind could know and easily relate to the Father in heaven: Mother, Father, Daughter, Son, Husband, Wife, Slave, Born Again, earthly riches/eternal riches, earthly inheritance/eternal inheritance, physical illness/need for spiritual healing, Death and Life...are all borrowed from Him and demonstrate Him so that there is NO excuse. Everything is a shadow, sometimes a corrupt shadow in this fallen world, but still a shadow of something larger and good in Eternity.
With that in mind, how it is all about Christ then let’s look at 1 Corinthians 11 with Christ at the center:
“Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the BRIDE is CHRIST; and the head of Christ is God. Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth CHRIST. But every BRIDE that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth CHRIST: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the BRIDE be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a BRIDE to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. (And it is a shame for the bride to be uncovered apart from Christ, but Christ is now His brides covering; covering for the woman, same as for the man.)
For CHRIST indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as CHRIST is the image and glory of GOD: but the BRIDE is the glory of CHRIST.
For CHRIST is not of the BRIDE: but the BRIDE of CHRIST.
Neither was CHRIST created for the BRIDE; but the BRIDE for CHRIST.
For this cause ought the BRIDE to have power on her head because of the angels.
Nevertheless neither is CHRIST without the BRIDE, neither the BRIDE without CHRIST, in the Lord.
For as the BRIDE is of CHRIST, even so is CHRIST also by the woman; but all things of God."
Both, man and woman, enter the Kingdom as the Bride of Christ. The enemy has worked hard to distort the image of the Bride of Christ. In this attack, the enemy wins in suppressing the very image of Christ's love and sacrifice for His Bride and the brides respect, obedience and full submission to her Husband.
The Body of Christ
(Genesis 2: 23) “And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”
(Ephesians 5:30-32) “For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery; but I speak concerning Christ and the church.”
(Numbers 30: 13-15) “Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void. But if her husband altogether hold his peace at her from day to day; then he establisheth all her vows, or all her bonds, which are upon her: he confirmeth them, because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard them. But if he shall any ways make them void after that he hath heard them; then he shall bear he iniquity.”
Christ bears the iniquity of the Bride.
(Matthew 10:34) “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.” Christ did not come to send peace on the earth, but a sword that divides. A sword that divides the light from the dark. A sword that divides goats from sheep. A sword that divides those that hear the Shepherds voice from those that do not.
(Matthew 20: 31) “And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David.”
(Matthew 26: 63) “But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.”
(Mark) “And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.”
(Mark) “And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.”
The Husband.
We often look to the old testament and all the valiant men to give us encouragement when coming up against insurmountable odds but is our strength really the focal point of the old testament ? In every book of the Old testament, the Spirit of God clearly shows us the power and strength and valiant nature of…Christ. Noah. Elias. Moses and Aaron. David and Goliath. Joshua. Boaz; the kinsman redeemer. Samson… (Judges 16: 2- 3) “And it was told the Gazites, saying, Samson is come hither. And they compassed him in, and laid wait for him all night, saying, In the morning, when it is day, we shall kill him. And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron.”
The Trial of a guilty/guiltless Woman:
(Numbers 5: 23) “And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall blot them out with bitter water:”
(Numbers 5: 28) “And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed.”
(Number 5 31) Then shall the man be guiltless from iniquity, and this woman shall bear her iniquity.”
There are two women. Two outcomes. One woman’s curses are blotted out and she is pronounced guiltless and goes free.
There other woman BEARS her iniquity. One bondwoman. One freewoman.
There are two books: The book of curses. And The book of Life.
The only way for a woman to be pronounced guiltless is to have the curses blotted out. How is the bitter made sweet? In Genesis 8 the Lord smelled a sweet savour and said in his heart he would not curse the ground any more. It is Christ’s coming sacrifice on the cross that makes the blood and burnt offerings of the Old testament smell sweet to God.
(Exodus 15: 25) “And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet…”
The story of Samson foreshadows the redemption power of Christ in many ways. (Judges 14:9) “And he took thereof in his hands, and went on eating, and came to his father and mother, and he gave them, and they did eat: but he told not them that he had taken the honey out of the carcase of the lion.”
Samuel: “And all they of the land came to a wood; and there was honey upon the ground.”
John the Baptist: (Mark 1:6) “And John was clothed with camel’s hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey.”
Jesus: (Luke) “And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet. And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.”
(Proverbs 27:2) “The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.”
Then of course (Revelation 10: 9-10) which says, “And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in they mouth sweet as honey. And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.”
The curses were bitter in John’s belly. But the sacrifice and redemptive power of Christ was sweet in John's mouth, same as the aroma of the sacrifice is sweet and pleasing to God. John wasn’t the only one told to eat the book. In Ezekiel scripture says, “And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.” But in verse 14 of the same chapter Ezekiel says, “So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the Lord was strong upon me.
In the book of Ruth; Naomi changes her name to Mara which means bitter: “for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me.”
In Revelations, right before John is instructed to eat the little book the seven thunders utter. John is told to not write what the seven thunders uttered but instead eat the book. Why?
(Revelations 10: 3-7) "And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.
And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,
And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets."
When the seven thunders sound, it the days of the seventh angel “there should be time no longer” and “the mystery of God should be finished”.
John was told not to write because it was not time yet. It was not time for the full scope of the mankind's sin against God to be revealed. Mankind’s offenses against God will sound as the book of curses and judgement are opened. Then, the guilty woman whose name has not been blotted out of the book, will be pronounced GUILTY!
(Psalm 51:1) “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.”
(Colossians 2:14) “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;”
Christ’s redeemed His by His blood shed on the cross and His we are called. Our sin will never to be heard. Our sin has been forgotten and removed before God by the sacrifice of His only begotten Son.
But the guilty woman, the woman whose sin was not blotted out and her name transferred to the book of life…The seven thunders will utter, final judgement proclaimed before heaven and earth, and the woman will be pronounced GUILTY before all of creation. Her horrendous crimes against God will be heard. When the seven thunders sound, time as we know it will end and eternity will begin.
