Let the adorning be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. - 1 Peter 3:4

I am sure that if Peter were to have his say on tattoos it would be the same as any other external ornament... Or something that is not really you. To be really adorned is to get the quality of character that the heavenly forces have got to offer. And then we would be able to rejoice... Saying.... Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. - Ephesians 1:3

"Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil." (1Thess 5:21-22 KJV)

"What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." (1Cor 6:19-20 KJV)

When I was young, tattoos brought to mind the worldly sailors or convicts. So, for me those verses would keep me from a tattoo. How can I glorify God in my body by a tattoo, which has a worldly appearance(or form). Admittedly, it may still be a personal matter, but this is how I see it.

I miss @farouk. He'd love a good discussion about tattoos.

I can appreciate “some” artwork on paper, on canvas….but on skin…nah.

Shocking how many people put permanent ink on their skin for a momentary dumb thought… just sayin…

Glory to God,

My wife tells the story of one of her college friends who got the "USDA PRIME" logo tattooed on her butt.

Yes, alcohol was involved in that decision.

Wait - Paul or Peter? The topic says Paul but the quote is Peter.

The two seem very different to me. Peter seems like a man's man, and Paul is... um... the incel apostle?
