My son has a friend who is gay, i have no problems with Him neither does God. I will leave the judgement to Him.

Ok, so I'm new around here though not so new to Christian debate sites. I've been around a while and I have heard a lot of different ideas and concepts. However many ideas I have of my own, I have many more questions than plans of attack if you get my drift. So, without further ado, I present one of my most confusing topics to see if you all would have the answer to teach me.

Why, if there is a reason, do so many Christians completely condemn and reject anybody who is homosexual or lesbian? Why are so many Christians quick to push them out of their lives and out of their churches?

There's my question. No war is necessary, just looking for opinions. Go.

Most christians get this whole topic wrong. Homosexuality has always been around and will continue .... it is a sin just like adultery or lying or theft or murder.

homosexuality should not be taught as being normal ..... that should be our position ....... no different than if society wanted to teach that theft and murder should be normal .

There are a hell of a lot more christian adulterers than there are homosexuals.

It's not the person that we condemn, it is the BEHAVIOR. God loves the sinner because He came to save the sinner. It is the SIN that God hates. In the same way, homosexuality (the behavior) should not be condoned; however, I have no problem with homosexuals attending our services. In fact, there are two homosexuals I know who attend my Church. They struggle with this sin every day, so they are no different from me. I also struggle with sin.......except it's not the sin of homosexuality that I struggle with. People struggle with different kinds of sins. Some struggle with adultery, lust, greed, anger, etc. but they're all sins. We are called to love all people. This does not mean that we condone whatever sins they have. We preach against homosexuality because it's wrong, but the homosexuals are welcomed in our Church as are all other sinners.

I don't doubt that would be the sentiment of many Christians. Unfortunately, the message for some reason is not getting across to the homosexual community. They have this idea that if you are against homosexuality you are automatically against them which may not have a skerrick of truth to it.

The sad thing is that when you are committed to a lie (you are born homosexual) it then becomes very difficult to see the wood for the trees and there is a blockage to the truth if it does not correspond with what you believe.

Add to that the pink mafia have declared war on the church and Christians and have made it very clear they don't want to know the truth and you have conflict without inviting it.

It doesn't help that they usually hate themselves so they are looking for someone to blame and that is why the Westboro Baptist Church is held up as an example of church intolerance. While this church does not represent anyone except themselves, the pink mafia milks it for all its worth to enable them to avoid facing up to reality.

Only the grace of God can change that so all we can do is express God's love for them in any way we can and leave the results to Him.
