From what I've experienced usually they're already convinced they know and are not interested in a discussion in the first place so it leaves me wondering what's the point of them responding in the first place then?

What I am saying in a nutshell is we are saved from all of our sins, to forsake them all.I'm not sure what you're saying totally. But I keep hearing from this thread that we are just as bad sinners as GBLT and therefore can't judge. While it's true we shouldn't become the judges of our brothers, we must judge the church to keep the evil out of it, which is those that promote sin. If they desire repentance then we accept them into the congregation and love abounds.
And If there are not good or bad sins, nor severity of sin, then why do we have sentencing in prisons depending on the crime? I think most humans understand that some crimes or sins are more severe than others. After all judgment and prison is an example of Mosaic law at its core. And if this is a concept that humans can even comprehend then how better is God at understanding? As an example, pretend that I lied about eating the cake on the table at dinner, and another person kills a human with horrific suffering, and who thinks these sins are evenly punished by God?
Nah, tell them they will face the wrath of almighty God and will burn in the lake of fire for eternity.I tend to think to tell them that death is painful, and perhaps it's not something you want to experience, if you're in emotional pain already, why add physical pain on top of that. That will only add to your emotional suffering.
And then the procedure is to talk them into paths to alleviate their emotional or situational suffering. Thru medications and psychiatry probably.
Sure but it's not enough to tell people to forsake their sins. We must also tell them how to forsake their sins. That comes thru participating in the ordinances of salvation and immersing yourself in God. Then we are delivered from temptation and repeating sins. What I am saying in a nutshell is we are saved from all of our sins, to forsake them all.
Nah, tell them they will face the wrath of almighty God and will burn in the lake of fire for eternity.
This will talk them out of it.
That's when it is too late. The ends justifies the means it would seem, and when you are at a funeral for someone who committed suicide the story changes. Cant swap the old platitudes that they are in a better place or at least their suffering is over. It is not very encuraging to say their suffering has only just begun in hell.
Telling folks they will go to hell if they kill themselves is ignorance? If homosexuals can't be Christians than neither can people who lie or steal or curse etc. Isn't that why Jesus came in the first place because of that fact that we're all sinners (except for Him) by nature?
No, in that case I believe that you have every right to be upset with them.
I know, it isn't the message itself that's an issue it's how you tell it that makes the difference. Besides God doesn't hate anybody as He loves homosexuals just as much as He loves us,.. He just hates their sin.
That is the most ignorant post I've seen on here.
You see? That's the exact reason why I'm an unorthodox Christian. I believe that Jesus died to save us all and lying about cake versus murdering somebody seem like two entirely different sins to me where I can't see anybody in Hell for lying about cake no matter what they believe. :/
I am so sorry to hear about that. That's why I prefer animals to people. *HUGS* :)
If someone wants to kill their self, satan is talking to them.I'm not sure it's that simple. Yes, if a non-believer kills himself, he will end up in eternal hell. But, when people are in the state of mind to kill themselves, they aren't exactly rational. IDK. We had a friend take his life and it wasn't that he hadn't heard the gospel. It was a terrible thing for everyone. I tend to think the thing to tell them is that they are will create hell on earth for everyone who knows them. But even that may not change the mind of someone who is believing the lies that the devil feeds him or her. Depression and suicidal thoughts are truly a spiritual battle and if one isn't well equipped with scripture and well acquainted with Jesus, it's going to be a losing battle.
Just lie and tell them that they went to heaven?Okay,.. how about that goes for everybody here. Like the person I think that it was @Truther who made the assumption (and they were crystal clear on this one) that all people who commit suicide wind up in Hell. People on here reading this might have friends and family members who took their own lives and that was the most ignorant post that I've read on this forum period but yet it wasn't deleted. SMH And no,.. I'm not mad at you or looking for a fight but it seems like I'm the wrong person to get a talking to about making assumptions because I would NEVER say anything like that. That was plain rude and mean.
Just lie and tell them that they went to heaven?
Kinda.Sure but it's not enough to tell people to forsake their sins. We must also tell them how to forsake their sins. That comes thru participating in the ordinances of salvation and immersing yourself in God. Then we are delivered from temptation and repeating sins.
Yes that's a portion of the ordinances of salvation.Kinda.
But we must tell sinners to obey Acts 2:38 if the ask us "what shall we do".
The message has never changed, but the messengers are run amuck.
My sister in law took a fillet knife to herself in the bathtub and committed suicide. Are you being sarcastic? Or are you really that ignorant? I sure hope that it's the first one and even so it's not something that you should joke about.
Thou shalt not lie.If they knew Christ then yes they did.
Sorry to hear that, what thing were they believing in if I can ask?My sister in law took a fillet knife to herself in the bathtub and committed suicide.
She was told that there is no hell, but she will be reincarnated into a samurai warrior.
She made the bathtub into a shrine before that.
My brother almost did it too after he found out what happened, but I told him he would go to hell and that she died as sinners death.
My brother decided to move on and get help instead.
Hell saved my brother's life.
Thou shalt not lie.
Lie not one to another.
Sorry to hear that, what thing were they believing in if I can ask?
