Some people always tell you what you want to hear.

Some people always tell you what you need to hear.

Yes, and many people only hear what they want to hear and reject anything that they do not want to hear.

People are so funny.

Amen.

And many who reply to posts either do not read carefully, or reinterpret the original in a completely unintended way.

At times, too much anger, shouting, and ad hominems.

Are some posts maliciously provocative? One would hope not.

What is good is when scripture is discussed for increased understanding of God’s intent for us, and when differing perspectives can be voiced safely.

With much love to all,

Blessings.

I hope I'm not guilty of that.

Bob, I was making an observation about people in general. Sadly, we all have this flaw because we are all not perfected yet.

I deliberately did not try to point the finger at anyone, but the first step to changing is recognising the flaws that we have, and the second step is humble ourselves and repent our turning away from God and acting God like.

This is a line in the sand that people do not understand or see when they step over it.

In reality every one of us pick and choose what we want to hear and believe, even me.

Sometimes it's how one hears it. 2 people can read the same thing and come away hearing it differently.
When we talk face to face you can hear the tone and see the facial expressions and see the body language to determine how the messenger is trying to convey the message.
Posts and scripture are both difficult because we have to lean on our own perception to determine what the other is saying.
It's always good to ask for clarification on something when in doubt before jumping to conclusions and accusations.
But human nature tends to be a bit rash at times lol.

Patience is key.

I've had to come upon this.

Ecclesiastes 7:5
It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.
