I would like to say, first, I am sorry to those that felt like there prayers were not answered; I know the feeling. But I also know what the bible says, and there are 100's of scriptures on healing both old and new testament. Faith is living by this statement....

"I am not moved by what I feel"
"I am not moved by what I see"
"I am not moved by what I hear"
"I am not moved by my experiences, or someone else's"
"I will not change the Word of God to fit my experiences"
"I will change my experiences with the Word of God"
"For I am only moved by the Word of God!"

One of my favorite things that Jesus said was, "your faith has made you whole (healed you)" Not the faith of Jesus, but the faith of the one needing a healing! Take Gods Word as it is.... Stand on it! And change your circumstances!

I will end off with what Paul said.... "I wish above all that you be in health, and prosper, even as your soul prospers"

God bless you!

Again the Bible never said he had eye or any other health issues!

The word infirmities in this context (read the chapter before) means weakness, not any form of sickness, but more of a feebleness as he talks about in 2cor 11:21-30 That is what Paul called infirmities!
@Faithbuilders One cannot be dogmatic but some commentators have surmised that Paul had poor eyesight (maybe from his experience on the Damascus Road...)

Amen sister.

Thank you sis. I left that church after there was a problem with a school we started there. The pastors daughter was one of the teachers and her two kids were in the classes.. There was alot of favoritism towards those two kids. that caused a backlash. We tried with many other families to bring it up but we were all told we were imagining things ( it was other teachers who brought this to our attention) so many of us left that church. Last I heard. the pastor had died from cancer. Not sure if they replaced him or if the church just folded after that.

after we left that church we went to another one, And while there. Alot of things happened in my life caused me to question my own faith. I ended up leaving and becoming a prodigal son for 5 years.. The reason I left is because of the legalism of the churches I was going to. I kept just hearing them if I have enough faith, or if I was not in sin all these things would not happen to me (I lost a job, My wife kicked me out of the house for another man, The child support they made me pay made my income to low to even pay my bills etc etc.. So I left the church because I lost faith in it.)

Anyway, God is faithful. At the right time and place my best friend growing up called me and I started to go to his church. which is an unorthodox church but the church has power. I saw mighty things happen there. And since then I have seen God work in wondrous ways.

the big thing is, even though I left his church, he never left me.. And his chastening, while painful. did what it was supposed to do. I praise him for that. If I did not come back, if my friend did not call. I have no doubt I would not be here now.

anyway, enough of my rant, Its still sad a light was removed from that church and the neighborhoods it served.. Which I might add. are run down neighborhoods now with a high rate of crime, because God was removed. and without God what hope does people have?

Thats the problem with america now. People think politics will help. It wont. America needs God and until it returns to god. there is no hope.

Aww yeh that is hard. My daughter and son both are at the preschool here I work at. While they get into trouble like all the other kids, I have to make my daughter share my lap during free times.

It is sad to see when God is removed from schools. I work at a faith based work place so I am blessed. I get to see the difference God makes in the lives of these kids even at a young age and it is a blessing.

I think it is a blessing to be in a country with both good medical care and Jehovah Rapha who heals in multiple ways.

@Mayflower This is a great title, Jehovah Rophi: I am the LORD that healeth thee...

Reminds me of Malachi 4.2: "But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings..."

Yes, I have read that also, but that can not be taken as scripture. Paul knows the scripture on healing. Jesus showed us though the example of the one blind man that was healed, Jesus is not satisfied with a partial healing. When Paul was prayed over, his eyes would have been made completely whole.

we have a faith teacher here at world harvest church who actually puts out flyers for this great healing prayer meeting. In the flyer, He puts an advertisement. Depending on how much money you give, He will guarantees a certain number of answered prayers and healings. A friend of mine actually went to their church to check it out. When the collect the offering, if you do not put anything in the plate. they send it back to you. multiple times. They actually have ushers that will then try to intimidate you into giving money. This man lives in a large mansion, and drives expensive cars.

And he will be judged for it.

You are correct. It is a sinful mess, and the man is serving the god of this world, not the God of Love. I normally won't make that strong of a categorization, but I know the type you are referring to, and they are not serving Him but themselves. Their actions will be judged in the next life if not in this one, for lining their pockets with gold and silver at the expense of God's people, and justifying it through "what scripture (supposedly) teaches." This is the BIGGEST problem in the WoF teaching, btw; justifying total material excess in the name of "prospering," as if the New Covenant has become a one way ticket to hedonism. It's kinda ridiculous, actually; utterly divorced from New Testament teaching. How they have done it would take unpacking several passages of scripture, however.

 WOW! That is so wrong, it is like the site I came across some time ago, "send us money and we will pray for you" Healing, is as much a free gift from God as salvation is! In fact the Greek word for saved also means healed!
the state has being trying to figure out how to go after him for years. sadly, it would open up a can of worms if they were able to tax him.. It would affect all churches

That is true unfortunately, but that does not mean it is not Gods will. As for healing, that is an example of one dimensional thinking. depending on the context, healing means all healing in our body, soul, spirit, family, financially.... But most of the time the context is in the body.
what would be considered financial and physical healing?

Paul tells us God has given us every spiritual blessing. so what more do we really need?

If we look at the world. Two secular studied find the lower class in the united states is still in the top percentile of wealth in the whole world.

using this as a guide. what would be considered blessed financially?

So my husband had his knees completely healed last month at a healing service by a guest speaker, Dave Hogan. He had dealt with his knees since he was 9, because he grew fast and his tendons didn't. Now he has no pain whatsoever in his knees.

But during Thanksgiving week, he got really sick, and come to find out it was covid19. He is on the mend now, shooting to go back to work on Monday. He is still out of breath a bit, but is getting there. I would say that God's will for my husband is still complete healing. Just because he didn't get healed right away like he did miraculously with his knees, doesn't mean that it isn't God's will for healing. I believe Isaiah 53:5 "By His stripes we are healed" doesn't just mean the spiritual. We were not just healed spiritually, but physical healing was made available for everyone also. Some of that takes prayer and fasting to manifest. Many things hinder healing from taking place. The enemy fights harder then some Christians do. I think if complete healing is just considered a possibility, that can bring life and healing since hope is evident.

I disagree my friend

the trial in his flesh....a physical infirmity

Gal 4: 13 You know that because of physical infirmity I preached the gospel to you at the first. 14 And my trial which was in my flesh you did not despise or reject, but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus. 15 What then was the blessing you enjoyed? For I bear you witness that, if possible, you would have plucked out your own eyes and given them to me.

why would they offer to give paul their own eyes. unless paul had a major issue with his own eyes?

we know that Pauls infirmity at the time of this writing was still not healed.

Gal 6 11 See with what large letters I have written to you with my own hand!

Pauls eyesight was so bad he had to use large letters.

God has chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith. I think I know where the blessing is.

Much love!

I disagree again brother. I believe paul spoke of his eyesight. He also could have spoken about many other possible issues he had. What gave him the weakness is what he was talking about

I will end off with what Paul said.... "I wish above all that you be in health, and prosper, even as your soul prospers"

Ah! Glad you brought this up.

Not to be confrontational here, because I liked the rest of your post, but this passage is abused by those like the ones I was referring to in my previous post to justify sin. A close analysis of this verse shows that he was stipulating they prosper even as their souls prospered. This is in fact something NOT happening with many Faith teachers I have seen, who are teaching some of the most atrocious interpretations of scripture imaginable.

For instance, many take the passage in Mark 10 to teach the “seed faith” principle; that God will turn your $1 into $100 or your $100 into $1,000. I doesn’t matter how much you give, God will multiply it by 100 and give it back to you. This is garbage, and an abuse of scripture to justify their own lavishness.

The actual passage reads as follows:

28 Then Peter began to say to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You.” 29 So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, 30 who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life. 31 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”

What He was telling them here was this: Jesus was saying, For leaving all to follow me - family, houses, children, lands, etc - you will receive a hundred times each of those things when you become leaders of the church. You will receive a hundred times the spiritual family, the spiritual children, and the houses they own which they will welcome you into during your ministry.

I have seen this mess taught in Faith churches with my own eyes. They turn it into a method of lavishing personal wealth upon themselves and encouraging others to do so as well, even as they abuse them and rob them of their money through a misinterpretation of scripture.

I used to think I prayed right. I prayed when my friend's and family were sick, that they would get better soon and that it would be a quick recovery. But in my mind I didn't think it could be instantaneous, that illness had to run its course. So I really only believed in partial/in it's time recovery rather then that God could do the instantaneous. And if God is not one to show partiality, wouldn't it be His will for everyone to be healed in the same way, right away? Does it happen no. But to the question asked earlier if it is always God's will a Christian to be healed, yes it is. Does it happen, not as often as it should.
