Scriptures vs the word
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. - John 1:1.
Did you know the scriptures are different from the word. Scripture is the written word of God and the word of God is the person of Christ.
What we know is everybody can use the scriptures. Scriptures are given for that;
(2 Timothy 3:16)
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: - 2 Timothy 3:16.
What you determine to be written in scripture determines your understanding. There have been movements good and bad, for instance; do you remember the lady who fought for prayer to be removed from school, she was prolific in the scriptures. If you went toe to toe in debate you better be ready. Doesn't make her right but she could quote scripture like no one I'm told. Totall atheist in understanding, literally wrote the book on atheism, which to me is someone who just has a bone to pick, raise a little cane if you will. But that was her roll in life she seemed to think.
Have you heard the saying "no atheists in a fox hole." No disrespect to those that have been in a fox hole in that situation. But it says alot because it is true. If you are getting ready to die and you don't believe there is a God, you will be crying out to God. Please save me, you become the fastest believer ever created for a moment anyway. To me that is extraordinary for a hardest of hearts to melt in the twinkling of an eye. We believe we can out do what God has done and make the mistake to try to disprove of any existence, and make the scriptures out to be something there not, you are asking for trouble.
Foolish!
The word is a person, which is the only thing that can save you. The scriptures cannot save you, but they bring you or tell you who can save you. "Only a fool would say in their heart there is no God." If you are going to quote scripture you need to read them all. You cannot quote the very scripture that would condemn you for ignorance, and use them for an agenda. Foolishness is a harsh reward for ignorance.
"Let every man be a lier, for God is true"
