Around the churches I have been to and some other places, it occasionally coms up that Satan was given this earth to rule over. THAT IS A LIE!

That lie comes from Satan himself, and it is a lie that He still uses today!

Now does Satan have some authority to rule over this earth? Only what you give him!!

The simple fact is that all power and authority comes from God!! And The Father put His Son on the throne over all things!! I repeat, "all things"!!

So Satan only has authority over us because we ourselves give it to him! Satan is leading a rebellion, and that against God, so we by giving Satan the authority that God gave to each of us personally, have joined in the rebellion against God and have become followers of Satan; whether we know it or not. So God never gave Satan authority to rule over the earth! Satan lied when he telling Jesus Christ:

Luke 4:5-7 And he led Him up and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
And the devil said to Him, “I will give You all this domain and its glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.
“Therefore if You worship before me, it shall all be Yours.”

The devil is a liar and when he speaks he speaks a lie!! So that is a lie, even though it is in the Bible, and we find even Christians calling the Bible the word of God! And the irony it the depths of evil Satan was trying to pull off in the above verse is so much more that we then to realize! Because Jesus Christ, whom Satan was speaking to, had already been given all that, and all had been instructed to worship Jesus Christ!! And even Satan had already been told and warn from doing exactly what he was doing!!


Ps 2:6,7 “But as for Me, I have installed My King
Upon Zion, My holy mountain.”
“I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD:
He said to Me, ‘You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.

Now then the Father on the very day He begot Jesus Christ, which was before the beginning of time and day one being declared, was installed as King on His holy mountain!

Gen 1:3-5 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness.
God called the light day, and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

We should understand that Jesus Christ is the light, and that He is good, and is not the darkness, and that time is something you count, and that "one day" was after the beginning where the light (Jesus Christ) was created. So on that day, and before it was counted as a day (time), Jesus Christ the Son of God, and the only begotten Son of God, was installed on the throne of God! I know this was explained to me, but with the instructions to not argue over it, because I was certainly not around then to fully understand it all. Never-the-less, it was explained in Ps 2 also.

And in Psalms to, we found that the declaration when out even from that day (day one). And we find more:

Ps 2:8 ‘Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance,
And the very ends of the earth as Your possession.

Now some people seem to think He didn't ask, but He did, didn't He?

Jn 16:15 “All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.

So we find Jesus, even before the cross declaring All things that the Father has are His. And if all things were created by God then does He not have all things?

1 Chr 29:11 “Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O LORD, and You exalt Yourself as head over all.

Jesus was put on the throne before all things, except Him, were created through Him. So He, Jesus Christ the Son of God, is Lord over all things! Whether they like it or not. So while there is a rebellion going on, which we unfortunately are caught up in, The Lord our God, Jesus Christ is still on the throne over all things, including that snake of old who in trying to lead a rebellion wants to lie and tells us that he has been given all you see. NO - that is a lie. He is over only those who put themselves under him by their own free will!

And Satan certainly never had authority over Jesus Christ - the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS!!

So Satan tried to lie to Him in hopes the He too would just give him the throne of God! It was the biggest bluff in history! But that bluff would certainly cost Satan all, because it was written:

Ps 2:10-12 Now therefore, O kings, show discernment;
Take warning, O judges of the earth.
Worship the LORD with reverence
And rejoice with trembling.
Do homage to the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way,
For His wrath may soon be kindled.
How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!

Of course, while that applied to Satan at the moment, and pretty much seal his fate, this still applies to us today. And Satan is still around testing us today also. Are we going to bow down to him, or are we going bow down and worship Jesus Christ our King and Lord; so that live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God? That was the answer, was it not?

If we listen today, do we not find the Jesus Christ is Lord and gives us instructions, teachings, encouragement, and more - but there is also that liar around who wants us to bow down and worship him instead. So we have been given freewill, to follow the Lord our God, or to follow the rebellion. Never-the-less, The Lord our God Jesus Christ, has been placed on the throne of God by His Father and with that the instructions to worship Him or else.

The issue is not that He does not have authority over all and/or that He is not the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS, but rather that He gives people, even demons, free will to make choices. That does not mean that they are not responsible for their choices, but it does mean that we can choose to serve Him or another. This is the only reason we can have and indeed to have a rebellion going on.

You can see that is all the above verses above. Just look at the verses!

so already "Thous hast put all things in subjection under His feet" That has already been done, yet it is also written...

Heb 2:8 ...But now we see not yet all things put under Him"

So while "all things" are in "subjection under His feet", we don't see it. Not seeing it, does not mean it is not so! And that is obviously because we are in rebellion to Him who we are "in subjection" to! Satan obviously did not see it either, so he made the mistake saying it had all been given to him. It hadn't. Satan lied. He did that for his own reasons, and thus because of his rebellion against God, even the Lord our God Jesus Christ )THE KING OF KINGS. And though we don't think about it and see it either, we are still under His authority. So we often try to tell Him (God) what He needs to do - as opposed to asking Him and subjecting ourselves to Him. Satan is not the only being who are being rebellious.

And if we look at another of the verses quoted above we find the same thing.

2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which
believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who
is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Satan and those following him have to blind the minds (by lying) of the unbeliever - lest the good news, which is that we can listen to and thus follow the Lord our God. And one of the best lies to do that is to lie and tell us the he (Satan) is the ruler of this world and this world has been given to him. And the strange thing is that we 'even those who say they are Christians' fail to understand where we stand with God. We are children of the Most High God, even the KING OVER ALL THINGS, so we find it written and a fact:

Mat 16:19 “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.”

If Jesus Christ did not have authority over all things, He could not give us the keys to the kingdom so that we could bind 'whatever' on earth and have it also bound in heaven! That is of course control over both heaven and earth, so over all things. Of course He has to give us the keys that do that, but He could only do that if He already had the authority and power over it already!

I believe that devil has been done away. We as human beings are naturally innate to lie, but when it comes to being faith to the Lord God, we tend to not lie as much and be honest. Though we may tell as my mother calls it "white lies." Yahavah knows all things and I do believe in the bible it reads that the Devil is done away with so... while I maintain darkness still resides, that is what people tend to like more than the light.

I just went through the Scriptures and how Jesus explained that Satan is a lair and how when he speaks he speaks a lie. And how it is written concerning Jesus:

Heb 2:8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under His feet. for in that
He put all in subjection under Him, He left nothing that is not put
under Him....

and

Heb 2:8 ...But now we see not yet all things put under Him"

Note the above verse does not say ' not yet" but explains how we 'see not'!!!

The problem is not that all things are not in subjection to Him - but that we don't yet 'SEE" it. So the problem is our "seeing" and not that things are not subject to Him!

Have you not read:

Romans 11:8 just as it is written,
“GOD GAVE THEM A SPIRIT OF STUPOR,
EYES TO SEE NOT AND EARS TO HEAR NOT,
DOWN TO THIS VERY DAY.”

The problem is that your eye "SEE NOT" down to this very day!!
If we do see like we should we would see that "Thou hast put all things in subjection under His feet"

You have been deceived by that lair, Satan and those working under him! So it is not me who does not match the Scriptures, but you - so we all need to turn back to Jesus Christ who gives us ears to hear and eyes to see!

What you wrote is opposite what the bible explains!!

Have you not even read:

Eph 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

or

1 Jn 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.

And did you not read and understand that our faith is not even in the Bible but in Jesus Christ??

Jn 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
Gal 3:22 But the Scripture has shut up everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

Our belief, faith, is in Him - The Christ - who is God's salvation to us (Jesus means God's salvation)! He is a person - even the Son of God, the first born of all! So our faith is in a Him, a person, and not a book or writings!! And that just as written in the Sacred writings! So do you not know Him personally? Does not the Christian church you are going to tell you to ask Jesus Christ into your life? And if in you, do you not hear His voice?

Rev 3:20 ‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.

So it is that it is written:

Jn 10:3 “To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

So we hear His voice, even calling us by our name. That comes to our spirit from His Holy Spirit!

Jn 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

and

Rom 10:8 But what does it say? “THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,

So when I say we believe in Him - we believe in our Lord Jesus Christ who speaks to us personally via His Holy Spirit. And it is that hearing Him speak to us personally which gives us the understanding and faith in Him - not the writings but the person of Jesus Christ!

Rm 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

It is not that the Scriptures are not correct - they are correct - but He did not just leave us a text book but He left us His Holy Spirit so He lives in us! And we hear the sound of the wind (the Holy Spirit) in our mouth and hearts, and in even is words, unless we are dull of hearing!

Jn 3:5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
and
Jn 3:8 “The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

So read and study the Scriptures (because they tell us that He is there for us with His Holy Spirit), but our faith is NOT in the Scriptures but in the person of Jesus Christ!! We know Him, talk to Him, are taught by Him! So have you not even heard Him teaching you things personally? Things like:

WHAT TEACHER DOESN’T PUT A BOOK IN FRONT OF HIS STUDENTS TODAY; YET NOT JUST A BOOK BUT OVERHEAD TRANSPARENCIES, VISUALS, AND OTHER MATERIAL? FOR I TELL YOU TRULY, IF THEY ARE NOT LISTENING TO ME THEY ARE NOT MY PUPIL, THEY ARE NOT MY STUDENT; I TELL YOU TRULY, THEY ARE NOT MY DISCIPLE UNLESS THEY ARE HEARING FROM ME. So don't write: "my mother calls" nor even "the Lord God", but rather Jesus Christ the Lord our God!!!!!

His Father put Him, Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, on the throne!! Or have you not even read:

Rev 19:16 And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

Or has it not yet been revealed to you who Jesus Christ???

Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

So how do you say you believe in the Bible and miss all of this??? is it not because:

Ahh, sorry, but you have now created a stumbling block in which Satan tells you to question the Bible and question Apostle Paul about whether he was deceived when he said those things. It’s not only the letters of the Apostle Paul but also those of John the Baptist.

You might even become an atheist in the future, for I have seen a lot of Bible scholars who were very knowledgeable about the Bible. They used to be believers, but now they mock God and His sheeps.

Can't you see that the world does not recognize God? Can't you see that the world is preaching diverse ungodly things? Didn't you see that it is written, 'Many are called, but only a few will be chosen'? Once again, I tell you, do not contradict the word of God.

Ha - there is prophecy - an account of things to come. As for now are they not wars, like always, death, like always, lying, deceit, and all the things we have seen from the time of Acts to now? Do you not even talk to the Lord our God Jesus Christ and listen to Him. You act as if the writing of the Old or New Testament was't written, and if so it did not apply. Yet even if that time has come, Jesus Christ is still King and stll the LORD OF LORDS AND KING OF KINGS whom the believer knows and listens to. But you, by your writing, says that He is not around now. So even your understanding of who told the angel to lay hold of the dragon, is missing, and who announces the "Woe" is unknown by you.

WE…can KNOW the presence…BUT NOT “SEE” the Heaven ABOVE the Heaven(S)…..

Friend your misunderstanding me or maybe because I wasn’t clear. I was providing confirmation of your initial thesis, he is bound. God is always around, He is in me this very moment. I was referring to the fact that Satan is bound for a millennium, as the word supports and the testing I have done, I invite you to do your own. It is there, in the Tribulation he is unbound for a short time. also tested in scripture I posted above. I agree that a Satan does not rule over the world except for the short time.

Satan is not now bound. But the fact you think that shows that you don't test the spirits. You show no discernment. And Satan is the one who wants that so has told you that. Is that going to happen. Yeah it is, but if it was now this would be the best period in history, but it is still like every other period in history. We have wars, in more wars. We have killings, and it seems more killings. We have crime, and it seems even an increase in crime. And we have people not seeking the Lord Jesus Christ and listening to Him, so they might discern what is going on around them in the spiritual realm. We are still not battling with flesh and blood, but the powers principalities and the dark spiritual forces of this world! The Scriptures still apply to us today. And even a person (a Christian) who has decided to lean on their own understanding instead of actually seek the Lord our God Jesus Christ can see that. So who told you to write:

I mean we even have a name "spin" for saying what is right is wrong, and what is wrong is right!

It seems even our own "Christian nation" has gone from having 70 to 80 % of the people saying they are Christians, to 30 to 40 %. And so when in history did thi:

Was it last century when we had two World Wars and enough other wars going on at all the time. If you were to talk to the Lord Jesus Christ you would make sense. Maybe not like men tend to make sense of things today, but like someone who knew the Lord. Your concept of perhaps we would lie less, might be right, but that is obviously not Today! Even in my life time it has become obvious that our news media are more propaganda institutions that news media. It was of course kind of that but today it has just become ridiculous. So your own concept shows that you are wrong about Satan not being around. He is lying to people. So seek the Lord Jesus Christ and test the spirits!

Who is the darkness? Did you not notice that in the verse you quoted that people loved the darkness, so who is that whom we love instead of Jesus Christ?

Eph 6:11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

If you don't think the devil is still around you are obviously not putting on the armor of God!

While I generally liked the post Taken made, the above is not quite right. There is a Kingdom of Heaven!! And a kingdom, any kingdom, is not made of up only one! And the Kingdom of God is made up of a great multitude! It is not of this world, Jesus explained that to Pilate, but He also told Pilate that if it was then "they" would be there fight for Him then. And it is also written that we can enter in, and go in and out and find rest.

Also, I would like to point out that it is written the heavens and the earth belong to God.

So He is above all thing, over all things, all things of God belong to Him, and God made all things, and except for Him all things came into being by Him. We don't see that at this time, but that does not mean it is not so. Our not seeing that is just that, 'out not seeing it', but out not seeing it does not mean it is not so!

And of course the reason we don't see that Jesus Christ is the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS today is that we listen to the devil (that lair) and not Him. Just like Satan told Jesus that all He saw belonged to himself; Satan also tells us and tempts us the same way!

So it is that I find Christians regularly that seem to think Satan has control, or did have control? They just don't understand. God is still God and Jesus Christ is the Lord our God because His Father gave Him all the things He had, and made Him King over it all! Only there is a rebellion that is gong on that God has not decided to put and end to yet. When the time comes, will He not just command a single angel to pick up Satan, that leader of the rebellion and do away with Him? And it is possible that the Lord our God Jesus Christ might put Satan away for a time, even a thousand years like MatthewG seems to think we are in now. And maybe we will only have people telling "little white lies"? and not that lies that we are seeing today. Yet whatever happens, you can be sure that Jesus Christ is still on the throne of God with His Father!!

Yeah, we can all believe what we want. We are given that choice. But should not the believer seek Jesus Christ, listen to Him?

We are not believing in the Bible - that just means we are leaning on our own understanding of it, right?
We are supposed to be believing in Jesus Christ, and He as the Word of God, speaks!

Is 1:2.3 Listen, O heavens, and hear, O earth;
For the LORD speaks,
“Sons I have reared and brought up,
But they have revolted against Me.
“An ox knows its owner,
And a donkey its master’s manger,
But Israel does not know,
My people do not understand.”

Is 1:18 “Come now, and let us reason together,”

I will tell you from my seeking Jesus Christ and His voice, the Bible is right!! However He once told me:

He also gave me the teaching I shared in the OP, that Satan lied when he told the Lord all that He saw was given to him. That was a lie!

Mat 4: 4-8 Again, the devil *took Him to a very high mountain and *showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory;
and he said to Him, “All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me.”
Then Jesus *said to him, “Go, Satan! For it is written, ‘YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND SERVE HIM ONLY.’”

The devil, (Satan) lied!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When he speaks he speaks a lie! So none of all the kingdoms of the world and their glory was given to him!!! That was a lie, because that is what Satan does!! He lies!! And Jesus Himself, who Satan was lying to, was the One - THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS - whom His Father gave it all to!!

So when Jesus told Satan “Go, Satan! For it is written, ‘YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND SERVE HIM ONLY.’”
Jesus was talking about Himself, that He had been given all that, and that He was the LORD GOD, and that Satan needed to bow down to Him and "SERVE HIM ONLY".

So you don't understand what you are reading because you don't listen to our Teacher, when you read the Bible. Jesus Christ was made Lord and King of all things even from moment He was begotten before time began, and that has never been taken away from Him, because only His Father could do that and He is not ever doing that! You fail to understand the depts of the love His Father has for Him, that He would give all things to His Son from the beginning! And you fail to understand the love God has even for us, that He would even give us His Son, so that we might believe in Him who is the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OR LORDS! Jesus Christ was given to us, so we might learn from Him, get advice from Him, obey Him and be saved through Him.

And if we are doing that, why then are we going back to listening to that lair? So who told you Satan was not still around? Was it not him so that you would not test the spirit and use discernment?

1 Jn 4:1-3 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.

So the above, which means you have to use your spiritual ears because you are actually testing spirit! And you will find that Jesus Christ is still there with His Holy Spirit to talk to you, but also you will still find that Satan and the rebellion he leading is also still around. The world has decided to participate in the rebellion, but if you are in a rebellion then nothing has been given to you, and you should know that God is still in control. He can wipe out the rebellion at any time, and a time will come when it is wiped out, so don't be part of it and serve the King who is our Lord Jesus Christ. So we hear from Him and do things that He tells us as our Lord.

We see in the Book of Hebrews that Jesus has not assumed full control over this world as of yet:

Hebrews 2:8
Thou hast put all things in subjection under His feet. for in that
He put all in subjection under Him, He left nothing that is not put
under Him. But now we see not yet all things put under Him

And, we also see that the devil is called the god of this world which
will not change until Jesus returns to start His 1000 year reign and
throws the devil and his demons in to hell.

2 Corinthians 4:4
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which
believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who
is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Did you delete Hebrews 2:8, and 2 Corinthians 4:4 out of your Bible (if you have one) since you consider these passages to be lies?

Mat 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.

Satan is bound for a millennium.

Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years

then let loose, for a short time.

Rev 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Satan will be bound when Christ returns and reigns for 1000 years, yes but this is not now but soon I believe. the sings of Christ second coming are piling up fast.
