I have seen many a thread asking why a loving God would allow suffering or something to that effect.
I don't know if this perspective has been offered, but I am not afraid to approach this and say what I think is really going on. God does love everyone, but it isn't what one may think. It isn't the kind of love where Superman is going to swoop in and save the day just in the nick of time, though sometimes it is. It depends on the situation and/or what God's plans are.
Most of the time, I would say God is fine with letting the cards fall as they may with little to no intervention because the universe self-regulates itself with physics. Everything automatically happens the way it's supposed to regardless of whether or not there is human suffering in the process. It's just that God isn't going to compromise this system or apparently intervene most of the time. It isn't that God doesn't care, but like I said it isn't what one may think. He is going to hope the best for you, but ultimately allow the processes to take over even if it hurts.
This may seem like a disconnect between the kind of love we expected God to have, but it's because people often over estimate the value of themselves in the big scheme of things; the ego is good at this. We may feel disenfranchised when reality doesn't match our expectations. Nothing is broken, God isn't oblivious, it's just that this is how things are and it's okay with God that people get hurt, sick, and die because these things have to happen in a material universe. Everything eventually breaks down and all living things eventually die while new ones are born. Life, death, and everything in between is part of a cycle that all creatures are susceptible to and that's just how things are. We just need to let reality determine how we understand God and this is a Biblically valid method to understand God according to Romans 1:20.
Now, I am sure there are going to be people who have lived charmed lives and never really had to think about any of this. There are always exceptions to everything. However, I did want to end this OP on a hopeful note and it's that God can answer prayers and can be moved to intervene when the conditions are right. In my experience, being genuine with God has gotten me far. For examples, if you don't love God, don't put up a story about how you do because you think you'll tell Him what He wanted to hear and you'll get your way. No. Actually, God knows when someone is lying. Just come to God as you are, whatever you are, whoever you are, and let Him know how things are, but be respectful, and honest. I pray the peace that comes from God will touch everyone who reaches out to Him.
