There are at least 3 potentially psychoactive drugs that appear in news, Fox news and elsewhere, that I wanted to bring to fellow Christians attention:
Cannibus (Marijuana)

MDMA (ecstacy)
https://www.dea.gov/factsheets/ecstasy-or-mdma-also-known-molly
Psilocybin (mushrooms that induce hallucinations)

Although in the USA there are state interpretations of constitutional rights, there are also federal laws that may be enforced, including controlled substances to ensure safety of society as well as other reasons.

Psychoactive drugs are troubling when I consider their use as a caring Christian. I was under the belief that hallucinagens and psychoactive, psychedelic drugs can compromise an individuals abilities which appears to include paranoia, and induced psychosis as well as other effects.
Some people in society may enjoy even a glass of wine, strong drink or beer for relaxation and even stress and pain relief. I think it is wise to be careful when consuming alcohol such as mild drinking when at social gatherings, to only drink with trusted friends. And such direction as provided by the Bible. Not everyone drinks and that is wonderful. We should be productive in our world and religious practices which is also directed in the Bible. Which is to be sober during our productive day. Old age and illness might be a reason for alcohol use. An elderly or ill person that has chosen to use alcohol instead of doctor prescribed pain relief medicines can be cared for by family and friends.
Proper hydration, electrolytes and eating healthy in proper frequency, and ensuring they have proper non-alcohol breaks between drinks is important for alcohol related pain relief. 12 hours or more in between doses is helpful, as well as not too potent of a alcohol level in the blood stream.
Proverbs 31:6
"Give strong drink to him who is perishing,
And wine to those who are bitter of heart."
Hallucinagens I do not support as they can cause visual and thought hallucinations.
I have observed that alcohol has a short recovery period for sober functionalty rather than psychoactive hallucinagens which may take weeks instead of hours.
Thank you if you have read this article and look forward to your insights into the matter.
