Doctrines will always be with us...and for me...even the interpretations we give to ourself on what the doctrines or creeds are saying ...is nothing more than an opinion.

Even one biblical verse can have three different opinions on what it is saying by three different people reading it.

Father speaks to us, and He often uses a scripture or two to do that.
Yet what He is saying to one heart is not necessarily what He wants to say to another heart.

We walk together on this believers path....but we walk it alone together.

Also, how does anyone preach the gospel without putting it in their own words? This is nothing more than a spoken creed. Try witnessing without putting it into your own words and see what happens.

Here's where you are missing the problem. Every time someone preaches the gospel, they put it into their own words. Because scripture only provides the raw material. So every preacher collects the raw material and presents it in a way the audience understands.

This is what the creeds do. Only they first debate heretics and after winning, they collect the raw materials from scripture and present it. Is it above scripture? No, because it might be wrong somewhere down the road. But until proven wrong, it teaches what the bible says with proven and tested words.
