'In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men
by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.'

( Rom.2:16 )

'Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel,
and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery,
which was kept secret since the world began,'

( Rom.16:25 )

'Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David
was raised from the dead according to my gospel:'

( 2Tim. 2:8 )

Hello @soul man,

That differentiation between the Gospel that Paul preached and that being preached by others had to be made, because not only was he up against false preachers and teachers who sought to bring those converted to Christ by his ministry brought under bondage to the law, but he also had been given a very distinct gospel to preach by revelation of the risen Christ. One which he, at divine instruction, had brought before the Jerusalem council to be heard, and was as a result pronounced, 'The Apostle to the Gentiles', and Peter, 'The Apostle to the Circumcision'.

During the early years of that Apostleship he wrote, 1 & 2 Thessalonians, 1 & 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Hebrews and Romans: seven in all. These earlier epistles reflect the truth of the gospel that Paul had received by revelation of the risen Christ, which was, 'repentance towards God, and faith towards our Lord Jesus Christ' (Acts 20:21), in fact he declared 'all the council of God' that he had received: so that he was, 'pure from the blood of all men' (Acts 20:26-27). Everything written and spoken by Paul at that time was verifiable, because made known by the Old Testament prophets, and revealed to Paul and to the other apostles by revelation from above - ie., (the mystery of Christ).

These epistles were followed by seven others, written from Prison in Rome, by Paul while under house arrest, again, by revelation of the risen Chris (Acts 26:16):- Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 2 Timothy, Titus and Philemon. These contain the revelation of The Mystery, which had been 'hid in God' since the world began (Ephesians 4:9 & Colossians 1:26), and made known to Paul alone, therefore not verifiable by searching the Old Testament Scriptures.

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

It was and is thru the OT that Paul received his Revelation as the Holy Spirit uncovered in the OT that which is hidden to the carnal mind.

Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. Luke ch24

Paul came to understand that Genesis is the Foundation for ALL Scripture and Truth that was to follow.
The Holy Spirit unlocks this Truth to those who are appointed to receive it.

“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you." John ch16

Disagree,

1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth such an one caught up to the third heaven.
3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth
4 how that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. - 2 Corinthians 12:1-4.

Here and many other places, we have Paul receiving his revelation of the gospel message to the born again. What scripture do you have on Paul getting his understanding from the Old Testament?

And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed.” So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.

(Act 17:1-3)

Hello @David in NJ,

As can be seen from the quotation above, Paul reasoned out of the Old Testament Scriptures, showing from the Scripture that Jesus, whom he preached was indeed The Christ. So yes, from the moment he received the Holy Spirit (Acts 9) he was fully aware of what the Scriptures said about His risen Lord and Saviour, and preached on the basis of those Scriptures, in order to convince his listeners (Acts 17:2). The truths that he expounded were received by many with all readiness of mind, and were verified from the Old Testament Scriptures, as can be seen in Acts 17:11.

* Yet in Galatians, Paul testified that the gospel which was preached by him was not of Himself or of man but was received by revelation of Jesus Christ (Galatians 1:11-12). In Acts 26:16, Paul records the words of the risen Lord spoken to him at his conversion, in which the Lord told Paul that there would be things in the which He would appear unto Paul:-

' ... I have appeared unto thee for this purpose,
to make thee a minister and a witness
(1) - both of these things which thou hast seen,
(2) - and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
Delivering thee from the people,
and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, ...
'

* The gospel that Paul preached was given to him by Revelation of Christ, and he was divinely instructed to tell the council at Jerusalem the content of the gospel that he preached among the Gentiles. This led to his being given the office of 'The Apostle to the Gentiles'.

'Paul, an apostle, ( not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ,
and God the Father, who raised Him from the dead ).'
(Gal. 1:1)

* Paul received a further revelation relating to the Church which is the Body of Christ, following the departure of Israel into unbelief at the end of the Acts period, and salvation being sent to the Gentiles (Acts 28:28). This He subsequently made known from his imprisonment at Rome, in person and by epistle. This revelation concerns 'The Mystery', which is, 'Christ in (or among) you, your hope of glory.' and is not the subject of the Old Testament Scriptures, being 'hid in God' (Ephesians 3:9) since the world began. These are, ' ... the unsearchable riches of Christ ... ' that were revealed to Paul alone to make known (Ephesians 3:8-9), as The Prisoner of Jesus Christ.

'Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you,
and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ
in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:
Whereof I am made a minister,
according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you,
to fulfil the word of God;
Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations,
but now is made manifest to His saints:
To whom God would make known
what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles;
which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom;
that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
Whereunto I also labour, striving according to His working,
which worketh in me mightily.'

(Col 1:24-29)

Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, - Romans 16:25 .

Underline 'my gospel.' My gospel - is the most important words in your Bible. 'My gospel' - written 3 times in scripture. We need to take a serious look at that, and follow through on it's instructions. When Paul instructs believers to follow him, what did he mean by that?
You follow Paul through his Epistle's.

He wrote 14 books of the bible, and they are all written directly to you. It is "the gospel of grace written to the born again." Why would the born again need a gospel? Because they never existed before in the world - and they never had a gospel. It is that simple - we needed our own message to go with the cross and the new birth. You didn't know you had your own message but you do. He is very protective of his gospel. He gives many warning about his gospel not being like other gospels - It has no law in it. Paul moved in fear and trembling because of his gospel. He guarded his gospel from his own background, always afraid he would mix law with the grace he was receiving by revelation. That was Paul's fear and trembling. Paul was above many of his peers when it came to understanding Jewish law and traditions. Very educated man, but that understanding was giving way to the new understanding of Christ in you.

Paul spent a few years in the desert (getting out of his mind alot of his law understanding, IMO), we don't know why but I speculate - the Lord was working on Paul to get a lot of his old understanding out of him so he could understand this new message of grace.

Why would Paul use the kind of language he uses such as; my gospel? He separated his gospel from anything else anyone would say. He would put his gospel up against any message that would try to displace his gospel of grace - knowing the law would separate believers (in mind - not knowing who they are) and not establish them in Christ. It was the gospel that was given to him to give to us - this new race of people to be born (birthed by God the father) into existence that never existed before! The born again believer! ..scripture calls them.

He wanted us to know he had the message to the born again. Look at some of the problems he with some of the other Apostles. We have to confront religious ideas about scripture - the idea we get that everybody gets along and it's all ok. It was not ok, they had many run ins, and it was all over the gospel. You will have to confront that if you follow Paul. All they knew was law and Paul came with this new message of grace and it didn't fit what other's believed. That was a problem for Paul and he would confront those with his gospel. He had to because God was bringing in the message for the new creation people that had started on the day of Pentecost.

A new people with a new gospel, and Christianity was born! Follow Paul, as he followed the Lord in getting the new revelation gospel revealed.

Actually, because Paul was teh apostle to teh Gentiles, his gospel (though the same in its saving content as the gosdpel to the Jews) was vastly different in how it functions in life. We gentiles were never under the law, had little to no knowledge of the OT and had to learn from scratch the one true God.

Divinely instructed THRU the Scriptures = not apart from the Scriptures.

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.

So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law? 22For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman. But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman through promise, which things are symbolic. For these are the two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar— for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children—
but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all. For it is written:

“Rejoice, O barren,
You who do not bear!
Break forth and shout,
You who are not in labor!
For the desolate has many more children
Than she who has a husband.”

Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise. But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now. Nevertheless what does the Scripture say? “Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.” So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free.

If Paul wrote of it you will find it's source in the OT, but that can only be seen thru HS7.

Well teh command to Israel under the Mosaic Law are 613, however Paul listed 1008 commands believers need to learn how to obey.

Who was most versed in the Kingdom of God?

Matthew 13:52: - 52 Then He said to them, "Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new/refurbished like new and old/yet still based on ancient times promises."
MNKJV

What was the covenant that Christ taught during His first advent? Was it not the Salvation Covenant which has existed since the beginning when Adam was created, but modified by Christ's death on the Cross which changed the process by which the Salvation redemption was available since then?

Did Paul bring the same Salvation Covenant Gospel for all of mankind as Christ?

Can you explain this. The born again need a gospel? The gospel is needed to be born again.
'Gospel' means 'Good news' so the gospel is the good news about Jesus and we first need to hear the good news in order to choose to accept Jesus and so be born again.

@soul man & co.,

Titles given to The Gospel:-

The Gospel of the Kingdom (Matthew 4:23)
The Gospel of Jesus Christ ... the Kingdom of God (Mark 1:1 & 14)
The Gospel preached to every creature with signs following (Mark 16:15-18)
The Gospel of God (Romans 1:1)
The Gospel of His Son (Romans 1:9)
The Gospel of Christ (Romans 1:16)
My gospel (Romans 2:16; 16:23; 2 Timothy 2:8)
The glorious gospel or the gospel of the Glory of Christ (2 Corinthians 4:4)
The gospel of the uncircumcision (Galatians 2:7)
The gospel of the circumcision (Galatians 2:7)
The gospel of the Grace of God (Acts 20:24)
The gospel of Your Salvation (Ephesians 1:13)
The gospel of Peace (Ephesians 6:15)
The gospel of the Glory of the Blessed God (1 Timothy 1:11)
The Everlasting Gospel (Revelation 14:6)
+ Ephesians 3:6; 2 Timothy 1:10-11, where the gospel is defined as that of which Paul had been a minister, a preacher, an apostle and a teacher of the Gentiles.

* Obviously these titles do not indicate that there is more than one gospel: they are titles given to what is essentially one gospel. However, to say that they do not indicate differences would be equally wrong; and each should be considered in it's place; within it's context. For even a minor difference will give further insight into the gospel preached: to whom, at what time, with what intent etc., which can only enhance our understanding and appreciation of it.

Thank you

Can you pinpoint the exact Scripture?
Titles given to The Gospel:-

The Gospel of the Kingdom (Matthew 4:23)
The Gospel of Jesus Christ ... the Kingdom of God (Mark 1:1 & 14)
The Gospel preached to every creature with signs following (Mark 16:15-18)
The Gospel of God (Romans 1:1)
The Gospel of His Son (Romans 1:9)
The Gospel of Christ (Romans 1:16)
My gospel (Romans 2:16; 16:23; 2 Timothy 2:8)
The glorious gospel or the gospel of the Glory of Christ (2 Corinthians 4:4)
The gospel of the uncircumcision (Galatians 2:7)
The gospel of the circumcision (Galatians 2:7)
The gospel of the Grace of God (Acts 20:24)
The gospel of Your Salvation (Ephesians 1:13)
The gospel of Peace (Ephesians 6:15)
The gospel of the Glory of the Blessed God (1 Timothy 1:11)
The Everlasting Gospel (Revelation 14:6)
+ Ephesians 3:6; 2 Timothy 1:10-11, where the gospel is defined as that of which Paul had been a minister, a preacher, an apostle and a teacher of the Gentiles.

* Obviously these titles do not indicate that there is more than one gospel: they are titles given to what is essentially one gospel. However, to say that they do not indicate differences would be equally wrong; and each should be considered in it's place; within it's context. SAME Gospel with different titles for different approaches for different audiences but SAME Gospel.

There is only One Gospel = Yeshua(Jesus) the Messiah(Christ) has come in the flesh, committed no sin, died on the Cross and rose on the 3rd Day,
and
SAME Gospel for Jew as for the Gentile = NO Distinction and anybody who would seek to divide His Body commits sin.

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

@soul man & Co.,

Hello there,

'
In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men
by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
'
(Romans 2:16)

'Now to him that is of power to stablish you
according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ,
according to the revelation of the mystery,
which was kept secret since the world began,'

(Romans 16:25)

'Remember that Jesus Christ
of the seed of David
was raised from the dead
according to my gospel: .
.. '
(2 Timothy 2:8)

* These are the three verses in which the words, 'my gospel', are used by Paul: however he also uses such words as, 'which thou hast heard of me': -

'Hold fast the form of sound words,
which thou hast heard of me,
in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.'

(2 Timothy 1:13)

'And the things that thou hast heard of me
among many witnesses,
the same commit thou to faithful men,
who shall be able to teach others also.'

(2 Timothy 2:2)

* We also have the witness of Paul and of the risen Christ as to the source of the gospel message that he preached:-

'But I certify you, brethren,
that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it,
but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.'

(Gal 1:11)

'And I said, Who art thou, Lord?
And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
But rise, and stand upon thy feet:

for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose,
to make thee a minister and a witness
both of these things which thou hast seen,

and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
Delivering thee from the people,
and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light,
and from the power of Satan unto God,
that they may receive forgiveness of sins,
and inheritance among them
which are sanctified by faith that is in Me.'

(Act 26:15-18)

* Later, the Lord appeared to Paul again, as He said: when Paul was the Lord's Prisoner in Rome ( 2 Timothy 1:8 ):-

'For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
How that by revelation He made known unto me the mystery;

(as I wrote afore in few words, whereby, when ye read,
ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men,
as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body,
and partakers of his promise in Christ

by the gospel: Whereof I was made a minister,
according to the gift of the grace of God
given unto me by the effectual working of His power.

Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given,
that I should preach among the Gentiles
the unsearchable riches of Christ;
And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery,

which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God,
who created all things by Jesus Christ:
To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places
might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
According to the eternal purpose which He purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of Him.
Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you,
which is your glory.'

(Eph 3:1-13)

Thank you

The Apostle Paul received his Revelation as the Holy Spirit uncovered in the OT that which is hidden to the carnal mind.

The LORD confirms this here = Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!

The Apostle Paul was given revelation by the Holy Spirit thru the Scriptures.
The Apostle Paul never instructed anyone to seek revelation from God apart from the Scriptures.

But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them,
and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:10-16

Can you pinpoint the exact Scripture?

God's interaction with Cain after Cain had killed Abel.

The Salvation covenant process back then was modified when it was refreshed by Christ on the cross some 4,000 + years later.

That never happened, but if you want to go that route your doomed to fail.

Its not hard. Let love be unfeigned- that's a command! Obey the higher authorities, that's a command! There are 1006 more in the epistles. they are not for salvation, but to live the Christian life to its fullest.
