The Bible is very interesting in similarities between events, some are easy to discern, such as Abram offering his son Isaac, with Jehovah offering up His son.
Others are not so easy to see. After we had entered into the promised land as we had in the past, apostasy developed among Jehovah's people, three things happened 1 Jehovah warned the people, Jehovah's people were taken into custody, 3 pure worship was restored. Jehovah sent prophets to warn His people, yet they rejected them so He had Babylon take them into captivity, some still remained faithful in captivity, so He had Cyrus liberate them from Babylon and returned to Jerusalem to rebuild the city and resume pure worship there.
Very similarly in Jesus day, Jesus and the apostles warned the people, the apostasy happened and the faithful ones were taken into captivity by babylon the great along with the apostates, and then after Jesus was enthroned as King, he liberated his disciples from babylon the great, thus restoring pure worship on earth.
