Well there is nothing good in the human nature that is worth saving! That is why God makes a new creation that is being conformed to the image of Christ. And faithful is He who has begun that good work to continue it to the day we are finally revealed.

Jesus never said continue in Him. Jesus said we abide in Him and we do! He said He would NEVER keave us or forsake us. NEVER means NEVER! So if we turn to forsake Him- He turns with us. We simply cannot shake off Jesus not matter how arrogant we may be or how hard we may try!
Everything was looking good , till your last few lines .
IF we take off from HEEDING CHRIST and continue on that path , our end is gonna be horrible .
Why do you think Jesus even warned about but he who continue unto the END shall be saved .
Why do we think paul was warning the hebrews about not letting the true faith slip .
For we are made partakers of CHRIST , IF WE HOLD our confidence firm to the END .
Your last line is highly dangerous . The least you could have said was , if they walked away they never knew HIM .
But what you said was dangerous my friend . You encourage a false hope when you say even if we deny HIM , walk way
From HIM he wont let us go . Paul never taught that . This generation sounds nothing like the early apostels
nor Christ . And that aint being judgmental , its stating a fact . ALL WE need to teach is JESUS ONLY SAVES
and that we must continue in the FAITH , in the HOPE of HIM . But no , now its got so bad
folks actually teach this stuff . WE should be exhorting folks to continue IN THE FAITH , not giving a false hope
that no matter what we do or how arrogant we are or etc . This is dangerous my friend . You should not teach it .

added back in, returned to the body of Christ? Who is the root?
In that analogy I'd say the root is Christ. From which the life giving sap (the Holy Spirit) comes from to nourish we the branches and cause us to bear the fruit of the Spirit.

see that leaves open so many (unanswered) questions for me. Like what body were they cut off from? A hand? An eye plucked? What body is maimed, lame, crippled where he said the lame leap, the crippled healed, the blind see?
The body is the body of Christ....us believers. Some of us are eyes, some of us are feet, and some hands. It is better for those members of the body of Christ to be cut off from the rest of the body if they cause other members of the body to stumble and be cast into hellfire.

Judas was an unbelieving, unclean devil who betrayed Jesus. (John 6:64-71; 13:10-11)

Precisely!
John 17:
[12] While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

That would be trusting in Christ. Paul says trusting in Christ is not a work of the works gospel.
You keep talking about works, I'm not talking about works. I'm talking about responsibility.

In your view, it's on you to keep yourself saved. IF you succeed, then you will remain saved. IF you fail, you don't remain saved.

In my view, it's up to God to keep me saved, as He's promised to do that, and I take Him at His Word. And He will not fail.

Much love!

1 John 2:24 LITV
24) Then what you heard from the beginning, let it abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you will abide both in the Son and in the Father.

Let what you heard abide in you. If you do, you will abide in the Son and in the Father.

You can see this as something you do once, or something you do on an ongoing basis.
It's something you do once but which must continue to the very end. Osas and anti-osas both agree on this. It's this new teaching in the church that says the believing you started at some time in the past does not have to last for you to be a saved person. They would do better to just go back to the original osas teaching that taught that the believer who's believing ends was never really saved to begin with.

No one ever says this. It’s the Once Saved Always Saved defenders that always make this statement. I say once you are born again, and once again defile yourself with sin, you have spoiled your new clean life that Christ gave you and there remains no more sacrifice left to get you born a third time. You will receive your portion with the unbelievers (Luke 12:46).

I guess normally don't run into people who think that born again people will be, what are you thinking, cast into the lake of fire?

So then, OK, I don't have to speak of unreborn if you think that the new creation person may be condemned. To me that would signify a second spiritual death, as if we could separate what God joined together, that being us to God.

OSAS’ers are like people who keep trying to get the first time buyer specials no longer being first time shoppers. That’s fraud! And you commit fraud against God when you say you can sow to the flesh and still reap life everlasting (Galatians 6:8).

I think at the end of discussion, we'll find vastly different ideas of what it means to be born again.

Anyway, my time's almost up.

Much love!

I am precisely a Converted, Forgiven, Saved and Born Again Christian.

The single term "Christian" lacks meaning it once held...Sort like society is despertly trying to destroy the meaning of marriage.
Dont abandon the term , just cause we have many false ones .

So does the scripture (Hebrews 10:26-29).

Yes, When you repented as an unbeliever.

Now you are told to continue in the faith grounded and settled or else your reconciliation will be lost (Colossians 1:23).

OSAS’ers are like people who keep trying to get the first time buyer specials no longer being first time shoppers. That’s fraud! And you commit fraud against God when you say you can sow to the flesh and still reap life everlasting (Galatians 6:8).
Lengthen the first paragraph to include , if ye return to sin and repent NOT .
It almost sounds like you said if you sin once its too late . Which is not true .
Though we ought not to do so . Let it not once be named .
However there is a pattern for if one does err . Confess and forsake . And if one errs from the truth and one converts him back
then surely know you have saved a soul from death and covered a multitude of sins .

Don't fall for kcnalp carrying on with nonsense,

I expressly said I am a Converted saved and born again Christian.

That is not abandoning the term, it is expressly defining it to appropriately apply to me.

God Bless,

I truly pray and wish that folks would return to the first true and pure faith . If so be they had it to start with .
Today is the day for any who are in error to cease from it . Start fresh and anew and dont look back .
Let us do all things that Honor HE who has saved us . And let us exhort one another daily , lest any does become
hardened through the deceitfulness of sin . Endure faithful unto HE who has saved us .

The assurance that you have been born again and are indeed dead to sin is evidenced by this:

Specifically,

1 John 3:18-24 KJV
18) My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
19) And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
20) For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
21) Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
22) And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
23) And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
24) And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

The questions to be answered are these . . . Are you trusting Jesus? And do you love?

This Spirit which He has given us,

Romans 8:15-16 KJV
15) For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16) The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

His Spirit is how we cry Abba! Father!

That yearning in your heart towards God, that's His presence inside you. You desire to be pleasing to Him. Your longing to know Him more. Your clinging to Him in your deepest needs. This is God within you, your spirit joined to His Spirit, vivified by His life in you. By His Spirit, we cry. Abba! Father! The flesh does not do that. The flesh is God's enemy, and does not stop being His enemy. Cannot and will not.

These are how we know.

Much love!

YES it IS GOD TRULY at WORK IN US . We must heed the SPIRIT and not the flesh . And believe me , the flesh is contrary .
But greater is HE in us than he in this world . JESUS is able to succor us through any trial or temptation .
THUS let us heed the SPIRIT and do NOT cave in to the flesh .

Don't put words into my mouth.

Must? Or Will? Thats where OSAS and "anti-OSAS" (didn't realize you saw yourself that way) disagree. And it points to the responsibility for your salvation after being "saved", which have to radically different meanings when framed in either context.

Been saved, or might be saved, that would be one way to put it.

Much love!

You keep talking about works, I'm not talking about works. I'm talking about responsibility.

In your view, it's on you to keep yourself saved. IF you succeed, then you will remain saved. IF you fail, you don't remain saved.
Why does that bother you? God gives you the capacity to believe. You either take it, or you don't take it.

In my view, it's up to God to keep me saved, as He's promised to do that, and I take Him at His Word. And He will not fail.
Which is why the Bible tells us to keep believing.....because he is faithful who promised.

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23

do you think that which has been cut off can be grafted back in? Do you think that which has been cut off from the body can be joined back to the body?
