I wanted to discuss my thoughts regarding some old testament instructions taught by Moses as received by God:

And it relates to some current day Islam actions against sinners as well as some strange Christian fanatics I see on the news committing similar acts.

"Leviticus 20:13 If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them."

And learning myself from God, I thought I could address that issue from a more adult Christian position. First I have learned that God is slow to anger. He waited 400 years to free the slaves from Egypt who had suffered horrific atrocities. And I believe he desires that everyone is saved:

1 Timothy 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

I was a sinner for many years in my childhood and probably deserved judgment from God myself. And what I witnessed was that I was preserved for a later time to eventually accept Christianity and repent of my sins. I would be a hypocrite not to want the same mercy for others. And I believe God delivered me from things which were near death experiences for a reason.

I also learned and accepted from God the Father that he is the only judge of Heaven, the Universe and Hell. Some religions feel they are judges over their flock. And the scriptures teach us:

John 7:24 Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment."

So what is righteous judgment?

It is the ability to judge good and evil thoughts, spirits and works. God can give us discernment of that which is good and that which is evil. We are cautioned not to judge others which is wisdom regarding our own judgment day before God:

Matthew 7:1 “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.

Now Jesus also gave the invitation to his apostles to pick up their crosses and follow after him:

24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

He also instructed the followers of Christ differently later after the crucifixion had taken place:

36 Then He said to them, “But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a knapsack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one.

And they were also instructed additionally:

Matthew 10:16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

A little about something similar in nature but slightly different:

Military and Law Enforcement have the right to protect themselves and others in their authority given them by the government over their subjects. And unfortunately sometimes the situations leads to someones harm or death.

There is this other area of psychiatric questioning where they ask you if you are considering harming yourself or others. And depending on the answer they receive they are required by law to alert the authorities of potential risk to life.

Now I don't know who is teaching the Islam's that are punishing sinners.

And I'm also suspicious of the fanatics on the news committing similar actions of injuring sinners and often labelled as hate crimes. Where are they getting the instructions to commit such acts. I have read news articles where they have claimed in harming an innocent that God told them to do it. And that is clearly not God instructing them. I know that Satan often pretends to be God and fools people into terrible things, if they are naive enough to act on an instruction of a given nature.

So I feel compelled to give a proper discernment of how to know when you are feeling God's messenger which is the Holy Ghost:

Galatians 522 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

Does God or man punish sinners?

God and man have prisons to detain individuals so that they don't harm themselves or others. And that is taking them out of society to protect that society. So I would say it is not to punish them.
