Sounds interesting. Where did you find that?
This is unquestionably true:
"And at the end of this parable Jesus said...
Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. - Matthew 25:13
Indicating that we are suppose to be ready for the Lords coming at any day and at any hour."
Amen and Amen.
This statement could be misconstrued as a supporting statement for the pre-trib rapture. However, we all know that His Appearing at the time of the Rapture, will not take place until AFTER the AC sits upon the throne of God, in the temple of God, shewing himself to be God. Therefore, until that happens, his appearing IS NOT IMMINENT!Indicating that we are suppose to be ready for the Lords coming at any day and at any hour."
12 Reasons Why the Pre-Trib Rapture Belief & The Doctrine of Imminency Are in Error1) The Gathering can only occur after 6 of the 7 trumps have been sounded. 1 Cor 15:52 states that the Gathering will occur at the sounding of the 7th and final trump. The 6 trumps have not sounded to date.
2) All 3 of the Gospel accounts in Mt 24, Mk 13 & Lk 21 show us Christ’s words stating, “...after that tribulation, shall his Appearing take place”.
3) Paul states in 2 Thess 2:1-4 that The Rapture is imminent only after the Abomination of Desolation ( AOD ) is committed. The AOD has not happened to date.
4) Rev 14 shows us that The Mark – an integral part of the GT – is issued to the world by the AntiChrist ( AC ) before The Harvest ( aka: The Rapture ) of Rev 14:16. The Mark has not been instituted to date.
5) If the Elect of Christ are raptured before the GT, as pre-tribbers believe, whom is Christ talking to in Mt 24, Mk 13 & Lk 21….Johnny-come-latelys ? Second-chance Christians ?
6) Warnings about The Mark are repeated 7 times in The Revelation. If The Elect are not on earth during the GT, who is Christ warning 7 times….Johnny-come-latelys ? Second-chance Christians ?
7) A pre-trib rapture would render The Revelation useless to Christians.
8) The AC must first wage war on Christians for 42 months, as per Dan 7:21 & 25, 8:24, 11:33-35, 12:3, 7 & 10, and Rev 12:17 ( along with many other passages ). This has not happened to date.
9) Daniel 9:27 states that at the time of the AOD, the AC puts an end to the sacrifice. The sacrifice is a result of the war he conducts against Christians. Therefore, metaphorically, Christians are the sacrifice. This has not happened to date.
10) Common sense should dictate to anyone that no Christian, in the history of Christianity, has ever escaped trial and tribulation by resurrection or rapture. Those that have lived life as the Poor in the trenches of life, know The Truth inherently: that expectations of injustices in their earthly manifestations, supercedes their hopes of divine escape. The Poor inherently know, they will not be raptured from harm in the Great Tribulation. The pre-trib rapture idea is a doctrine of the weak-in-spirit, and a product of the lip service of the scholarly-elite.
11) This ET’s generation will be as wicked as it was in the days of Noah. Christians, also, shall generally be less worthy of inclusion in The Elect until they have endured persecution, so that they are refined like gold, and tested in the fire, before they find salvation and redemption by the Grace of The Father, and the sacrifice of The Son.
12) And last but by no means least, Christ’s last days on earth was an example to this ET’s generation, to show us the proper orientation of the timing of a great tribulation relative to the timing of the general resurrection. Christ was betrayed, hunted-down, seized, imprisoned, tried, beaten, killed, and THEN resurrected, in that order. So, as per Christ's example, we shall see great tribulation before we are resurrected, or raptured.
a) Christ Set the Example:
The golden rule of leadership is: A leader does not ask his followers to do, what he, himself, is unwilling to do.
You will notice that Christ's last days on earth parallel EXACTLY what he tells ALL his followers will happen to them in Mt 24, Mk 13 and Lk 21.
Now look at what he tells ALL his followers, in THIS generation, in his Olivet Discourse of Mt 24, Mk 13, and the Temple Discourse in Lk 21:
Mt 24:9 - Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
and,
Mk 13:9 - But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. 10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations. 11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. 12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death. 13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
and,
Lk 21:12 - But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake. 13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony. 14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: 15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. 16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolk, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. 17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake. 18 But there shall not a hair of your head perish. 19 In your patience possess ye your souls.
Christ was betrayed by a brother, so shall we, to wit: Mt 24:10 / Mk 13:12 / Lk 21:16
Christ was hunted-down, so shall we, to wit: Mt 26:47-49 / Mk 14: 43-45 / Lk 22:47 / Jn 18:1-3
Christ was seized, so shall we, to wit: Mt 24:9 / Mk 13:9 / Lk 21:12
Christ was imprisoned, so shall we, to wit: Lk 21:12
Christ was tried, so shall we, to wit: Mk 13:9,11 / Lk 21:12,13
Christ was beaten, so shall we, to wit: Mt 24:9 / Mk 13:9,11 / Lk 21:12
Christ was killed, so shall we, to wit: Mt 24:9 / Mk 13:12 / Lk 21:16
and THEN, AND ONLY THEN:
Christ was resurrected from the dead, and raptured, so shall we be.... IN THAT SAME ORDER!
Orientation of Matthew 24:
vs 1-8 - signs of times / season of return
vs 9-10 - GT
vs 11-14 - more signs
vs 15-31 - Appearance of Christ at time of rapture after AOD
vs 32-35 - ET generation started in 1948 on return of Jews to Palestine
vs 36-44 - more signs / rapture event
Orientation of Mark 13:
vs 5-8 - signs / season
vs 9-13 - GT
vs 14-23 - Appearance of Christ at time of rapture after AOD
vs 24-27 - Appearance of Christ at time of rapture
vs 28-31 - ET generation started in 1948 on return of Jews to Palestine
vs 32-37 - WATCH!
Orientation of Luke 21:
vs 8-11 - signs / season
vs 12-19 - GT
vs 20-24 - AC armies occupy Jerusalem at time of AOD
vs 25-28 - more signs
vs 29-33 - ET generation started in 1948 on return of Jews to Palestine
vs 34-36 - WATCH!
It is clear that all three accounts of the words of Christ clearly show that the signs of the times, and season of his appearing, will be followed by a GREAT TRIBULATION on ALL Christians that will parallel Christ's last days on earth. THEN, "after that tribulation", and after the AOD is committed, shall come the sign of Christ Appearing on clouds with great power and glory to gather his Elect. Paul confirms this orientation in 2 Thess 2. And John confirms this orientation in Rev 14.
Scholars confuse the “season” of his return with the actual events of Daniel’s 70th week. Please do not confuse Christ’s “appearing” at the time of The Rapture, with His Return to Earth at Armageddon. They are NOT the same event. Let it be known now, that any deviation from this orientation is an attempt to skew the words of Christ, and alter the written record, according to the wishes of man.
B) Rev 14 confirms a Post-Tribulation, Mid-Week, Pre-Wrath Rapture:
Chapter 14 of The Revelation CONFIRMS the rest of prophetic scripture, that the Elect of God shall witness / experience The Great Tribulation.
Verse 8:
This is the earthly angel / Christian Witness ( 1 of 2 wit's ) declaring the start of the GT, noted by the burning of Christian Churches worldwide.
Verses 9 - 13:
This is the earthly angel / Jewish Witness ( 1 of 2 wit's ) declaring the start of the GT, noted by the issuing of The Mark of AC. He also states that those that die in the GT are blessed.
Verse 14:
Vision of Christ on clouds preparing to rapture his Elect.
Verse 15:
Christian Witness declares The Rapture is imminent
Verse 16:
The Rapture ( aka: The Harvest of The Elect ) takes place.
Verse 17:
Angel in Heaven with the sickle of Wrath
Verse 18:
Jewish Witness declares the Wrath of The Lord is imminent
Verses 19 & 20:
The Wrath of The Lord has begun.
Note: Rev 14:20 isimmediately followed by Chapter 15, which describes the dispensing of the seven vials of God's wrath. In the very beginning of chapter 15, you'll notice The Elect, who were raptured as shown in Chapter 14, are now in heaven.

Conclusion
Anyone who has lived their life in the trenches of life will quickly tell you that they “expect the worst, but hope and pray for the better”. Is it not advantageous and wise, therefore, for us as Christians, to expect that we will not escape pain and suffering in a coming Great Tribulation? For if we expect to escape a great tribulation, and that escape does not come, then we could be greatly disappointed, and possibly shrink from our responsibilities to witness The Truth unto our last breath. A wise person would expect that The Rapture will not come in time to save them from the pain and suffering that comes along with witnessing The Truth, but would be pleasantly surprised when he or she were to escape these terrible things, by the grace and mercy of The Father. How could we stand on an equal footing with the multitudes of unknown faithful from previous generations that preceded us, who gave their lives to the propagation of The Truth, and washed their robes in the Blood of The Lamb, if we escaped pain and suffering when they didn’t? Fortunately for this generation, The Lord has foreseen the struggle before us, and has prophesied the emergence of a series of end time prophets who will awaken us to The Truth in the moment at hand. The critical question remains, however: WILL WE LISTEN?
I leave you with the words of the Apostle Paul when he warns us of the deceptions that will be prevalent in this generation concerning the return of Christ, and His Appearing for The Elect:
[sup]2 Thess 2:11[/sup] And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: [sup]12[/sup] That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. [sup][1]2 Tim 4:3[/sup] For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; [sup]4[/sup] And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Most of These people will not be afforded the abilityto de-nounce acceptance of the Beast's Mark no matter how devote a Christain they were before entering thier position.
...
Those, including myself, who make the claim that the pretribulation rapture doctrine lacks scriptural basis, say this because while scripture may be used to defend it, scripture itself doesn't teach it.
On the surface, it doesn't seem like a major, but from that author's extensive "research", you can see how this one belief can influence a host of others.
so to can the New Jerusalem descend from the heaven to the earth. (Just a thought)
one could perceive that the DEAD rise first. And this occurrence is declared to be at the end of the millennial kingdom:

God will dwell with men on Earth, ...
The New Jerusalem is a cube, 1500 miles in width, height, and depth. ...
The Rev 20:5 reference, is talking about the dead - who weren't raised with Christ in the pre-millennial rapture -
It was a reply to the OP.TWC -
To what author are you referring to? I agree, the pre-trib rapture doctrine is "spiritual poison". I also believe it is the "great delusion" Paul speaks of in 2 Thess 2.
Hi Retrobyter,
I wouldn't anticipate that the New Jerusalem is anything more than a fly-by. For if the heavens and earth shall pass away, why anchor the New Jerusalem to a dead planet either by satellite or by touch-down? I would anticipate that the earth's resources will be exhausted by that date, and even if they weren't, I don't think Heaven will have any lack in it's own essence.
However, your pyramid concept is interesting. It certainly defies a ~spherical heavenly-body precedent, but that should not be a an impediment to the Creator. :)
