I became an Eastern Christian over 27 years ago, quite accidently. But music ended up being a big part of it, previously as a "nondenominational" Charismatic Protestant I really liked the more modern choruses that were sang in the 90s by most Pentecostals and Charismatics of that era. But I was greatly impressed with the worship of an eastern orthodox church that was a few miles down the road from my parents' house. I was not really expecting anything special for that Sunday, quite the opposite in fact. I was attending "to see if I could tolerate it." I had a crush on an coworker who was Russian Orthodox, and I wanted to test drive going to such a service at a completely different church from her's, because I realized being a part time seminary student etc. that was actually the best way to pursue her is she was a viable romantic candidate. What happened unexpectedly however was all the opposite of that. I actually ended up enjoying the service far more than I ever imagined possible. I found it more spiritually moving and "anointed" to use that charismatic word than any other service I went to before. I however did not get the girl, nor was I really lucky in love, but it did have a very deep and positive impact on my life.

Anyway I tend to collect links on videos for Eastern Christian music for my own edification to play for backround music for prayer, house cleaning or whatever. But I figured other folks might like it too, because they often do on Facebook where I often share such things.

My years in the Coptic Church found the prayers of the hours handy for personal devotions, and thanks to the internet age such resources are available online for free.

There are some YouTube videos for some of the hours, I tend to do Prime (6 am) the most just because it is the easiest as far as being readily available.
