I've never been a student (or fan) of prophecy. I'm both aware of it and have familiarized myself with it in the past, but I pay no attention to it, it simply has no worship value and certainly not any soul-redeeming value (purification/salvation).

......I mention "purification" as one of the many, many truths that has never been taught (I feel that it warrants direct explanation right now (especially because of the widely popular concern of a HISTORICAL Jesus, firstly remember/note that "historical" is a TIME CONCEPT).

With the help of priests and by an earthly sanctuary, the Jews had to make animal sacrifices and give offerings to God in order to receive purification for "sin", but this purification was only temporary (it was not ETERNAL purification) and had to be repeated year after year on the day of atonement.

Hebrews 1:3 explains that Jesus made "purification" (ETERNAL PURIFICATION, God is eternal),.....at that time, humanity was not always in the AGE of eternity.

The reason the Jews had to repeatedly make sacrifices ("the blood of bulls and goats") is that....well, it was a good 'devotional gesture', but really offered no SOUL-REDEEMING value (no 'heart'/conscience).

Hebrews 10:4 "For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and should take away
sins".

Even with the gifts and sacrifices being offered, the CONSCIENCE could not be purified....

Hebrews 9:9 "gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot perfect the conscience of the
worshiper".

So what Jesus did on the cross only purified THE FLESH, He could not purify the conscience by what He did ON THE CROSS..........BUT, Jesus also gave us the "ETERNAL" SPIRIT of God so that [as good students] we can learn to do things right and have a clear conscience every day.

John 7:39 "the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified".

Hebrews 9:14 "who through the eternal spirit.....purify your
conscience".

So, on the cross, Jesus performed eternal "PURIFICATION" of the FLESH, but it's only God's 'Spirit of eternity' that will give us eternal LIFE,......many/most believers only have eternal PURIFICATION (technically at least, I don't want to sound like I am 'THE judge' or the 'final word', I certainly am not, God looks at THE HEART and many truly sincere have believed lies.....but that doesn't prevent God from being loving kind,...."Let every man be a liar...." yet God remains gracious).

We've been taught to be very sloppy in how we read scripture, every word has a special purpose,.....like....

ETERNAL

PURIFICATION

eternal LIFE (as opposed to simple "eternal purification of the flesh").

Galatians 6:8
"but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life".

God ensured that we receive enough information to have a proper devotion/relationship. We don't have FULL information that WE would LIKE about everything, but God has provided everything we NEED (not "WANT"). I am only providing EXPLANATIONS (not "teaching"/doctrines).

.....God is now "shaking"....Hebrews 12:27 "so that what cannot be shaken may remain"

The "heaven" ("church" of all believers) is being sifted.

So you see, this idea of ETERNITY is very important for "UNDERSTANDING" (Proverbs "Get understanding"). The understanding about "purification" is also important because it must be realized that the Israelites did not have the FINAL SIN SACRIFICE and will never enter the ETERNAL SABBATH REST in Jesus.....
　
Hebrews 4:3 "They shall never enter my rest"......(although his works were finished from the foundation of the world).

The Holy Spirit was obviously not a well known or considered a required/specified part of O.T. devotion, but because King David was a man after God's own heart, David was given the wisdom to understand from the Jewish scriptures in Isaiah 53 that He should place himself spiritually INSIDE the 'eternal promised messiah'.

Mark 12:36 "David himself, inspired by the Holy Spirit, declared, 'The Lord said to my Lord
"Sit at my right hand".

God did things for THE SOUL the true/genuine 'being', He does not intend to satisfy HISTORY or the intellect (so neither will I have that desire), but ETERNITY really does exist.

...besides, the words "history" and "eternity" do not belong in the same sentence (in other words, you're trying to make something irrational be "rational",......it's simply IMPOSSIBLE).

David never read Isaiah ... same with Abraham ... or any of the older prophets ... but I can show more than a few exceptions to your observations that ... prophecy is important and probably necessary ... and contrary to modern belief fundamentalism ... eirely similar to events in the NT

Actually, my username has nothing to do with prophecy, it's more of a comment on the condition of the world politically/militarily, economically, environmentally, socially, etc. (I'm surprised the earth itself is still intact). Storms, weather, hurricanes, earthquakes, Fukishima radiation, oil spills, animal die offs, the earth's magnetic pole shifts, solar flares, etc. are more extreme and common than they used to be, then add wars and high tech weaponry meant for a more COMPLETE destruction.

Humanity is more bent on TOTAL annhilation than ever before. So, my username is like saying "Time is short, the human race will destroy itself before nature does" (you could probably characterize my username as more aetheistic/philisophical than religious/spiritual).

My username is simply coincidental to prophecy.

Undoubtedly, The Lord knows exactly how events will turn out, but I personally don't believe that any specific EVENTS (as opposed to ATTITUDES and societal conditions...."brother against brother" etc.) were communicated to humanity.

AHHHH!, you may presently have doubts about your Godliness because of your 'HISTORICITY' intellect, but because you have the desire to clearly communicate the truth of what you have to say ("loving" the truth doesn't mean to simply 'want to receive the truth', but wanting to clearly GIVE your "truth" to those you speak to), you are SAVED....YOU will wake up on the "final" judgement day and say "oh, you are the one who did this for me" (because you always had the spirit of truth in you, John 14:6, "I am...THE TRUTH...").

King David did not have the NEW testament scriptures, but the Jews did have SCRIPTURES that told them about the "Wonderful Counselor" (promised messiah) that is mentioned in Isaiah 53 (maybe THEIR scriptures mentioned it or described Him in different words/terms, but when David says "my lord" (in scripture, small letters, not CAPITAL letters refer to Jesus, ALL CAPITAL letters refer to "Abba Father").

Make special note of this....the ancient Jews did not have JESUS, they only worshipped "GOD" as Jehovah (they didn't know or care that God had a son....apparently they never cared about "messiah" either, but David did (because David had a true heart for LORD God).

These quotes show David as being used by God IN HIS OWN GENERATION.
Revelation 22:16 seems to be misunderstood as though Jesus is the bright morning star (is it?....I don't know for sure, but Revelation does mention a NEW NAME.

The information that is provided to us in the N.T. seems to indicate that David has no direct connection to the "doctrine of Christ" (Christ and Him crucified...the only doctrine that we need to be familiar with AT ALL)...
John 10:8 "ALL who came before me are thieves and robbers" (this includes Moses and John the Baptist, etc.).
Are the OTHER sheep those who only have PURIFIED "flesh" because they didn't learn from God's ETERNAL Spirit so as to have the conscience purified also?,....I don't think they are the JEWS that were redeemed by David?.....(if we Jesus lovers move on to "solid food", then we can have the anointing and be "quickened", a KJV word)....do I misunderstand anything?.
The "Hassidim" Jews (in my area many/most live in Brooklyn, New York) follow the bloodline of David and believe that the Messiah is a man that lives in Brooklyn (by the bloodline of David). As far as I know, that is only a HASSIDM Jew belief, all of the other Jews are likely modern day Judaizers (like "Jews for Jesus", etc. from the Council of Jerusalem)....I'm not sure of their exact beliefs, but they still celebrate the "Seder" and all O.T. rituals/practices.
　
So, compared to what Jesus has to offer us (an INNER KINGDOM and a NEW Jerusalem destiny), ALL who came BEFORE Him are to be regarded as "thieves and robbers" (the kingdom is "WITHIN"..."His Spirit in the inner man").


IN JESUS, we are in "ETERNITY" (a completely different DIMENSION than the JEWS.......and likely all believers have never realized this either). Our UNDERSTANDING and conscious realization of "ETERNITY" does not limit God from being gracious, but God does CAUTION us in Hebrews chapter 6 about the APOSTATE DEVOTION and says thar "God is not so unjust....".

........(God does not issue 'ultimatum WARNINGS' such as at the end of the book of Revelations,....God is NOT a 'punisher', He is a REWARDER, Hebrews 11:6, that is why I used the word "CAUTION").



....Yes, Hebrews 6:10 means that our devotion should NOT be done by doing any works/deeds of righteousness......

....it also means that our devotion/worship should NOT be done by LOVING OTHER PEOPLE (including brothers that are IN CHRIST)
.....neither should we "show partiality" (special treatment) to them, we should only have regard for others AS WE HAVE REGARD/"love" for ourselves.

If I was 'sicko' and mentally/emotionally unstable, I would go around showing love to myself and shower myself with gifts. If I was suicidally depressed (which I actually used to be), it wouldn't be appropriate for me to treat or regard others the same as I had regard/love for myself. We must not be hypocrites and treat others BETTER THAN we treat ourselves....

2 Corinthians 9:7
"Each one must do as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver".

So, IF and when we decide to be helpful to another person, our assistance must not be done GRUDGINGLY, but happily/cheerfully/willingly and voluntarily.

The point I am trying to make with all of this long winded banter is that scripture does not provide us EVERYTHING we would LIKE to understand, God only gives us the 'ESSENTIALS' OF DEVOTION (the minimum requirements)....we have THE OPPORTUNITY to 'SPECULATE' IF WE WISH (but should WAIT until after we learn the true devotion)......so, do we NEED to know ANYTHING at all about David?....no, we don't....it is only INTERESTING to "speculate".

My verses come from the RSV (I find this version to be more explanatory, the word "quickened" is in the KJV...I think).

I have a point of view that likely few people share (admittedly this borders on snobbishness and prudishness, after all is said and done). ​

The whole point to devotion seems to be that God is telling us to be peaceful and stop misusing the knowledge that was wrongly chosen in the Garden of Eden (no matter how allegorical the "Eden" story might be,.....we don't need to quibble about the truth of such trivialities, Jesus has been known to speak in 'figures of speech')....

John 16:25 "I have said this to you in figures".

So, PHILISOPHICALLY and ultimately, is all this 'bible this and bible that' and all the 'sin this and sin that' (including all of the 'evil this and evil that') a kind of prudish and picayune/nitpicking invention of man's pride to wanting to be 'holier than thou worthy'?.

I'm not saying thar scripture isn't true, I'm wondering if "Have we simply taken it too far" with all this protocol and partisanship....(march like this/that and salute our savior)?.

Did God ever say "UNDERSTAND ME" or does He simply want us to be aware of Him and His savior so that we can love Him and give thanks (pay homage).....what is all this "PRAY TO" if we simply are aware that He is "Abba Father" and live together peacefully? (we've been taught to honor Him and "follow" Him like a 'Pied Piper and a "master" and a "COMMANDER", not a LOVING CREATOR).

Romans 1:21

He never said "do not have an interest in nature/science". He never said "do not be like Socrates, Plato, Tesla, etc.".

He never said "Be proper and and obey man's code of morality, ethics, propriety/properness, and be a proper citizen" (all of these were said to the people of 2,000 years ago because they WANTED to be an UPSTANDING CITIZEN...pride and PRUDISHNESS).

Philosophically, all that I wrote here borders on "heresy", but I like the aetheistic point of view about righteousness (very often, an aetheist will say that they don't believe in the concept of "righteousness"......OF COURSE, they don't recognize that there is an ALTERNATIVE/opposite).

"God is LIGHT".........and IN HIM, there is no such thing as DARKNESS (Ephesians 5:8 "walk as children of LIGHT").

I don't have an agenda ... per se ... other than exploring God's Word to it's fullest. The Word can be seen on at least 3 levels ...

The simpliest ordinary level ... of a child that does read the Bible has a deeper understanding of simple truths than an ordinary person on the street ... from the context of the heart, and simple understanding of hearing and doing, in innocent but not a mature experience

The middle level ... we reach realization that life isn't all it offers ... the world is a stark contrast to the applying rules like "Love your Enemies" ... it's usually at this point that yoong adolescents ... or believers [after a life of worldliness, possibly] come to a descision ... to form a more concrete descision on behavior, truth, a way of life

[At this point in my life, I had already made a descision on Christ ... I can't re-crucify Jesus again ... But the weight of a sinful self-centered world which casts labels as stereotypes, morals as non-conditions, apathy as purpose ... is certainly a poor excuse for anyone with a heart ... so who can you turn to when no one else is on the same page ... God and yourself ... I've never meet anyone like me ... maybe you can say the same for yourself ... I don't know ... so who do you turn to ... By revelation I've received visions that defy probability of me knowing by my self ... if I try and communicate them to the world and the world rejects it ... Now I understand better how you're using the word "musing" (does it mean "introspection", soul-searching?).

ONLY He who hung on the cross has ANY authority (for a believer).....

Matthew 28:18 "And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me" (scripture is NOT an authority, it is simply a/THE REFERENCE book for believers).

That verse means to me that I shall not and will not (I WILLINGLY choose to have NO AUTHORITY other than 'COMPLETE GOD' over me) have any spiritual regard for anyone except Jesus (this is The Lord's will). I will not even regard 'THE FATHER ONLY' as an authority, nor the 'Holy Spirit only' as "authority", ONLY Jesus (complete God, 3 in 1) as a spiritual authority.

The ancient Jews had many authorities (Moses, Jehovah, scripture, perhaps David and prophets, etc., including the Pharisees), but we are to have only ONE spiritual authority (everyone in scripture is SIGNIFICANT.....even Pharoah who was meant for destruction), but NO ONE (nobody at all) is to be revered/venerated, or spiritually regarded except the one who hung on the cross (not even the "first Adam"), REGARDLESS of this following fact.....

Revelation 22:16 "I Jesus have sent my angel to you with this testimony for the churches. I am
the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star.".....(the "Root of David" is also mentioned in Rev. 5:5).

The "Root" seems to indicate 'origin' (like the root of a plant), but Jesus also says "OFFSPRING" (maybe "root" actually means CRUX/totality).

"Thieves and robbers" is in no way a derogatory term, it just means that Jesus brings us a MUCH HIGHER dispensation of God than ever before, so much "higher" that COMPARATIVELY everything and everyone else is INFERIOR (thieves FORCE the kingdom to come by using books and empirical devices)....

The term "men of violence" is used many times in scripture (the RSV, probably other versions also) including Daniel 11:14....

"In those times many shall rise against the king of the south; and the men of violence among your own people shall lift themselves up in order to fulfil the vision; but they shall fail"....

I never studied the Josephus the historian's account of the seige of Jerusalem (as I understand, men of violence rioted against the Roman attackers). So, does history/"prophecy" repeat itself?, after all, this is the age of ETERNITY).

I never experienced the feeling of "paralysis" (or at least I have no clear memory of such a thing). I grew up having trouble actually realizing that life really matters because so very many of the things done in this world are "grievous" (are not fulfilling/meaningful) to me (you are not unlike myself).

There is a book called "1959, the year that changed everything" (I never read it, but I read a review and the principle seems valid/appropriate).

I believe that Don Mclean's song "Bye Bye Miss American Pie" refers to Buddy Holly's death and the dream (Don Mclean himself never explained the song, it's simply my observation that the dream began it's death upon Holly's death).

We like to blame secret societies and satan for all injustices and corruption (scapegoats), but in the end, isn't it HUMANITY itself who ultimately "makes room" for their survival and existence (there aren't many like you or I,...perhaps 144,000? [likely a symbolic number,....or is it?])....if I am arrogant, it is for good reason......because GOD taught me, not MAN ("I am who I am", His "forever"/eternity name, Exodus 3:14,....this is what we need to be so we can relate to and identify with Him).

Right now, the international scene is becoming more EXTREME by the day/hour (both economically and militarily). The environment (land, sea, animals/nature, etc.). seems 'worn out'. The planetary activity and solar activity seems ready to introduce "a new heaven and a new earth" (or do I simply have an overactive and hopeful imagination?.

If you could have had the opportunity to meet him, the appropriate topics for a conversation would be along the lines of "secrets of the universe", "DIMENSIONS", time, etc. (and the conversation would also be interesting/meaningful, useful and even educational, in other words the conversation would be logical/make sense),....but if you then began to talk to him about a topic such as "comic books", any further conversation would become ILLOGICAL (talking with him would no longer make sense). No matter how polite Tesla might still want to be, he would be at least "taken aback" and would consider addressing such a topic as "comic books" to require a loss of dignity and require an insult to his own intelligence.

I have been writing on the internet for 12 years now. At first, I felt self-conscious when I noticed that many threads ENDED (stopped dead) when I posted even ONCE. I even confided my "guilt" to a close friend and they said that I am a 'final solution' "troubleshooter" (but I'd rather not admit that to myself, it offends my humility, my arrogance is not "chosen").

I was on a website called Curezone.com that had about 200 forums (now more that 900). Only 2 forums were for believers, the rest were mainly for health (I never cared about "health", I never had to). I frequented the forums that were about social adversity (addiction, depression, people, etc.) and realized that my posts were often "the" final solution (even back then, my arrogance was not for no reason).

When I learned that God (the "religious lingo/jargon" name for "creator" is His TITLE, not His name) really did send His son, it was like an orphan finding his true birth parent (very emotional).

I was a "Christian" for 23 years because I wanted to be reconnected with the creator/origin in a DEEP, DEEP, warm, and very personal way (I said "I wish I could drink you my lord"), but after 6 months or so, I realized that "man" has nothing to offer/teach for a deep relationship (I was heartbroken and became a backslider for the last 22 and a half years).

Five and a half years ago I said "Lord, I give up". I threw away all my commentaries/magazines, literature, etc. (and all versions except my RSV), decided NEVER to step foot in a "church BUILDING" or listen to another radio/tv show about Him,...and to simply live out my remaining years "yearning" for Him while "sharing" with Him as "I" see fit (not as MAN sees fit)......I became a "renegade of the status quo" and forsook man and his ways....mammon).....my arrogance is because I am SOVEREIGN (initially accountable to "self").....I became "clay to the potter".

Romans 2:14 "they are a law to themselves".

No one has the right to judge me (I am sovereign, "captain of myself"), I am not judgemental ("deciding of") [against] others, but I do "discern" wisely what is good for me).

1 Corinthians 2:15
"The spiritual man judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one".

If you look deeply into scripture, you will see that all the "books"/text/literature and man's "wisdom" is inferior to God and insufficient to satisfy our hearts.

So, as I arrogantly feel that my intelligence is being insulted (UNINTENTIONALLY of course), you are also insulting your own intelligence (you don't realize it)......The Lord cautions us against "self-abasement"/belittlement, Colossians 2:18)

The word "evil" actually refers more to "imperfection" and failure (iniquity), it is "WICKEDNESS" and destruction (torturing, tormenting others) that is REBELLIOUS to God/nature and humanity.

The tendency of the Athenians in Acts 17 would no doubt be to grow up on the teachings of Socrates and Plato. They worshipped an "UNKNOWN GOD" because they admired the noble qualitities of truth, justice and peace, so Paul spoke to them about that which they [ALREADY] worship as "unknown"....

Acts 17:23
"What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you".

Don't let books and man's wisdom "self abase" you.

"we ought not to think that the Deity is like......the imagination of man".
