Sadly so does bigorty
The difference being that murder and bigotry are both behaviors that people choose to engage in and both cause harm. Where as orientation is inborn
Okay, let's go with that for the sake of argument. Perhaps you don't know that a particular aspect of "orientation" is an aspect of human development. Boys play with boys and girls play with girls. No one teaches boys and girls to act this way, this kind of behavior is unlearned.
Later in life, boys suddenly discover girls. When a boy becomes a teenager, his hormones begin to emerge. The same is true for the girls. And suddenly the courting process begins.
The point is, orientation is an aspect of human growth; young boys hang around each other until their teenage years when their bodies begin to change. After that, they prefer to be with girls. The same is true the other way.
Same-sex orientation in adulthood is the result of a damaged psyche, being stuck at a particular stage of growth. Same-sex orientation is the result of childhood trauma or pedophilia. It's a disease.
The desire to identify and heal a disease is not bigotry. Jesus demonstrated over and over again that healing someone is an act of love.
And what is the criteria?
Or is this just something you made up?
I hesitate to give you an answer on a public forum in case a child might inadvertently read this. Let me just put it this way. I can give you two examples that I think will be acceptable in a public forum.
For the first example consider the following passage.
Romans 1:24-27
Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
For this reason, God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
You should know that Paul sometimes employs the word "dishonor" to indicate something that is considered trash, something like toilet paper. He is saying that when someone has been given over to impurity, that person treats his or her own body as toilet paper. And he says such people have been given over to degrading passions.
What are "degrading" passions? A degrading passion is a desire to debase or degrade another person for the sake of pleasure. Contrary to what some might think, everyone is binary. Let me say that again, EVERYONE IS BINARY. In order for same-sex activity to take place, one person plays the role of the giver, while the partner plays the role of the receiver. And typically, the giver debases the receiver.
For the sake of pleasure, one person agrees to allow another person to treat them like toilet paper, like something to be discarded and flushed down the toilet.
For the second example consider the worship of Baal Peor. According to the Jewish encyclopedia, "The worship of this idol consisted in exposing that part of the body which all persons usually take the utmost care to conceal." As I understand it, the name of the god literally means something like "any hole." Those who worship this god are committed to the idea that "any hole will do" as it pertains to sexual intimacy. I leave it to you to imagine the worship of this idol. Suffice it to say, it involved an orgy.
Gay pride month is the worship of Baal Peor, the god of "any hole" and the practice of degrading passions.
Its amazing you claim you don't hate but then you post things like this.
You have a strange understanding of the word "hate." Facing reality isn't hate.
Suppose a woman's lipstick was smeared. Is it hate to hold up a mirror so she can see the problem herself? I don't think so.
Suppose a dictator will not allow children to live with their own parents, is it hateful to identify him as "antifamily?" I don't think so.
Suppose a brutal man decides to put people in a zoo, treating them like animals, is it hateful to identify that man as "antihuman." I don't think so.
Do you think that I am engaged in nothing more than name-calling?
If they are virgins, they are not homosexual. Ever wonder why the term "homosexual" has the word "sexual" in it?
That doesn't change the fact that the traits common to homosexuals are all biological.
It does, however, make this information irrelevant.
behavior pattern is a complex arrangement of two or more responses that occur in a prescribed order. Which doesn't come close to things like romance, love and pair bonding.
I already raised this issue with you earlier. Everyone wants to be loved. Some are willing to take the expression of "love" in any form. A man wanting to have sex with a woman might say to her, "If you love me you will do this." Some women, seeking to be loved, will comply with his request. Other women know, either explicitly or instinctively know that love involves more than physical intimacy.
You are talking about a bunch of confused people who are developmentally stunted and confused about what love really is.
And yet it is part of creation. See above
So is murder and so is pedophilia. Welcome to the deep end of the pool. But just because we can find such a practice with in creation, it doesn't follow that such practices are not violations of the created order. Freedom of the will, remember?
You not liking a study's findings doesn't make anything suspect.
Still on about "findings"?
They have the courage to face the strange. It takes courage for a man to marry a woman. Or maybe he didn't realize what he was getting himself into. It takes courage for him to remain in a committed relationship. (Why do you suppose that women are always complaining that their boyfriends have commitment issues?) Women pal around with each other because they feel comfortable. Men pal around with each other because they feel comfortable. In order for either of them to commit, both need to be willing to leave their comfort zone.
Do you really need findings? All it takes is a casual study of human behavior.
But people use screwdrivers to pry off the lids of paint cans and hammers to put the lids back on.
Most dads will warn their sons to avoid this. My dad told me to never use a screwdriver to pry the lid off of a paint can. Damage can and will occur. My dad never warned me against allowing another man to degrade me. He didn't need to warn me, I already knew this from the start.
Some people use bats when they go out gay bashing
Point taken. But I don't think you mean to say that a bat was created for gay bashing. Understand?
and all of the above have multiple uses
Some are good uses, some are bad uses. Some are wise uses some are foolish uses. We Christians are not utilitarian's. We do not affirm the doctrine of Utilitarianism, which says, "An action is right insofar as it promotes happiness." I'm sure a lot of gay people are happy, but it doesn't make them right though. Christians are folks who do the right thing because it's the right thing even if it doesn't make us happy.
