Overnight I watched a live stream of a guy walking through Central Park NYC.It's finally up to 32F today, whoohoo. And up from there for the future. Getting some coffee, not braving the skating rink that is the sidewalk.
I couldn't go for walks yesterday, it was just so slippery. It's 35F now and in a slow melt. Maybe by later today I'll be able to go for walks a little better!Overnight I watched a live stream of a guy walking through Central Park NYC.
I always thought Central Park was dangerous at night. But it was so cold that nobody was out....just one dog walker and three young people.
The walker kept talking about the ice. There was a live chat going on.... someone told him to put socks over his shoes to prevent slipping on ice.
It's an interesting channel...called Walking Commuter.... YouTube.
I remember once having to cut through one of the really bad neighborhoods in Miami (Overtown, where they had the riots back in 1989) 'cuz there was a big backup to get on I-95 after a Heat game. Bars on all the windows, really run down, but not a soul out on the streets. I asked one of the guys at work who lived down that way, and he chuckled and said, "Yeah, that neighborhood so bad ain't nobody goes out there at night".I always thought Central Park was dangerous at night. It's a little less cold here today than yesterday at 34F. I am finally able to walk up and down the sidewalk. Yesterday it was too slick to walk.16 degrees F yesterday morning. The upside of that was the mud from last week's flooding was frozen, so the Sneaky Labrador and I could go for a dogwalk down by the riverside.
Dev, hope it leaves soon. Try to relax. If you can't be here later tonight we will know you are resting.I have the strangest headache. It's not really like a migraine. But I was out earlier and it was not good. I took some ibuprofen and it got worse.
Anyways I'm up for a short while. Cheers!
Thanks Debp. I think the ice might start to melt soon. The weather thing I look at is way off lately. It was supposed to be already melting. But it's 35F right now which is a super slooooow melt. So I'm just watching the ice melt tonight.Dev, hope it leaves soon. Try to relax. If you can't be here later tonight we will know you are resting.
That's great... Chinese food sounds good and a movie. What's the movie? Thanks Debp. I think the ice might start to melt soon. The weather thing I look at is way off lately. I got some sweet and sour chicken for dinner. Going to enjoy that. Watching a relaxing movie. I had to switch several movies to find a relaxing one, but finally found it!
"I kill giants" is the movie. It's about a young girl that can't face reality so she makes up these imaginary characters that she fights. It gives her a fake power in her lack of control. Cute movie but weird. It's slow enough that I can relax while watching it.That's great... Chinese food sounds good and a movie. What's the movie?
Watching the ice melt tonight... that's really funny!
Just ate chili awhile ago. Have an old Western on from Grit TV. Will charge my tablet soon and come back on later tonight. How is your night going?
Thanks, I think I'm feeling a little better. I'm not sure if I'm having a strange migraine or something else. I get these strange migraines that make me dizzy. Normally they don't hurt too much so no worries. I haven't had a headache like this ever and the last one that was even close was 15 years ago. Strange days, maybe it's related to the weather.Just ate chili awhile ago. Have an old Western on from Grit TV. Will charge my tablet soon and come back on later tonight.
I found some nice relaxing videos. Will post one in case you are interested.
This one has music and different Winter scenes.... it's live so you can chat, too.

Supposed to be a series of rain storms down there. Sounds fun!Glad you are feeling better, Dev.
I'm looking forward to the rain showers over the weekend. Mainly the rain will fall on Monday. I can't hear it too well in the apartment unless it gets really heavy. But I look out at it at intervals.
@dev553344 I finally got the YouTube app to work. So don't worry about doing anything that I asked above.@dev553344 Can you please go to your post #1716 and remove the link about the peaceful music I have in my quote? If possible.
For some reason YouTube keeps saying I'm not connected to the Internet right now. I'm wondering if that's because that link I gave you is "live." I never had a problem before like this.
It's only the YouTube app connected to my tablet that is affected. I just checked YouTube on my Vivaldi browser and it connects.
