Mjrhealth - A person DOES have to read the Bible to see what Jesus actually taught - assuming that people WANT to follow His words, which is, actually, seldom the case. What I don't understand is why they prefer to read "thou', "art", and "shalt" - instead of you, is, and shall.

Well, don't get upset.... There are plenty of times he said "you" (2006 times), "is" (5474 times) and "shall" (6061 times).... So if those words are more to your suiting.... They're there! :)

mjrhealth - I guess that I'm not as lucky as you. Jesus doesn't actually talk back to me. I have to read the Gospels to see what He said. I just prefer doing it in modern English.

FHII - I'm not getting upset. I just don't understand the obsession with HAVING to read 16th Century English. It's silly.

Enoch - I assume that you prefer reading 16th Century English. If so - Why?

Maybe you dont believe He can or maybe you dont ask enough ??

Mat 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Mat 7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Mat 7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
Mat 7:10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
Mat 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

I have a freind who asked Him teh question once, about why does He sto talking, He said He never does stop, so that means people just dont listen.

In some of the new bibles the words are changed, in doing that, the meaning has changed. example a " young girl " isn't necessarily a virgin, as in Mary
