In the future I will try to actually respond to what you actually write and not to your many confusing, sometimes unrelated sources, as this is the only way I see to get you to bite, unfortunately. Regardless whether you ignore me or not, I will begin doing this as this your weakness, because you really do not know much of scripture yourself. You are solely reliant on your sources. And also this method might actually reach your conscience much more quickly.

More to come then...
THE MESSIAH IS GOD
Picture of ONE FOR ISRAEL
ONE FOR ISRAEL

Rabbi Tovia Singer says: “Anyone who thinks that God came down to us, manifested as anything, whether as cottage cheese or as Jesus, such person is going to the eternal fire of hell and will not enjoy Heaven.”

Rabbi Daniel Asor adds: “The Old Testament forbids pagan beliefs which evolve around “human idols” a man-god.” And in page 256 in his book, he writes the following: “The Christians lean on Old Testament verses when it comes to the divinity of Jesus.” And then in a condescending and arrogant way, the rabbi suggests you take a look “at a number of verses in the Old Testament on which the missionaries base their Pagan belief.”
So let’s do that.

LET’S LOOK AT WHAT THE BIBLE HAS TO SAY, AND AT RABBI ASOR’S OBJECTIONS, AND THEN EXPLAIN WHY EVEN THE ANCIENT JEWISH SAGES THINK HE IS WRONG.
First up is the verse from Jeremiah 23:6:

“In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely, and this is the name by which he will be called: ‘YHWH, Our Righteousness.’”

After Rabbi Asor explains that Christians use this verse as evidence to the divinity of the Messiah, he responds with a similar verse from Jeremiah 33:16:

“In those days Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell securely. And this is the name by which it will be called: ‘YHWH, Our Righteousness.’”

Then he posits:
“Therefore: in this verse, ‘YHWH, Our Righteousness’ is the name of the city Jerusalem. Should we say that the sand and the rocks of Jerusalem are 100% divine for the future to come? Of course not” He adds, “By the way, my name is also divine, Daniel! Am I also divine? Of course not…”
First of all, although the name ‘Daniel’ contains the letters E and L, you will not find a prophet, king or any other person in the whole Old Testament who receives the specific four-letter name of God, YHWH, apart from the Messiah.

Only the Messiah is called by God’s explicit name.

Second, what about the claim that the prophet Jeremiah calls Jerusalem by the name “YHWH, Our Righteousness”, since it’s impossible, as the Rabbi claims, to call a city after God’s name? Those who don’t have a biblical background might think this makes sense, but the truth is that naming a city after its ruler is a well-known biblical custom, and has remained so since the earliest generations.

Even with Cain, in Genesis 4, Cain built a city and named it after his son ‘Enoch’. When we read through the book of Genesis, we see that throughout the generations, cities were named after their rulers. Therefore, it is of no surprise that Jerusalem would also be given the name of its king and ruler – after the name of the One who chose her to be His eternal spiritual dwelling – God. This actually supports our point, and is not a contradiction to our claim, that the Messiah King will be called by God’s name. His capital city will also be called after His name ‘YHWH, Our Righteousness’; the city which He chose as His dwelling place.

And now to the main point… Pay attention to the bias and lack of honesty of Rabbi Daniel Asor, who insists that the suggestion that Jeremiah 23:6 speaks of the deity of the Messiah was a claim first made by Christians, and an expression of their pagan belief. As a Rabbi, he should advocate the ‘Oral Law’, but in reality, he doesn’t hesitate to contradict what the Sages have said, and to trample the Oral Law just to try and keep Jesus out of the picture.

LET’S SEE HOW THE SAGES INTERPRETED ‘YHWH, OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS’ IN JEREMIAH 23:6 AS A PROPHECY ABOUT THE MESSIAH:

Babylonian Talmud Baba Bathra 75 72: “Said Rabbi Yohanan: ‘Three will be named with the name of the Holy One, blessed be he, and they are: The Upright, the Messiah, and Jerusalem… Messiah, as it is written (Jer. 23) ‘And this is His name whereby He shell be called: YHWH, Our Righteousness”

Minor Tractate, Sofrim 13, Rule 12: “Gladden us, O Lord our God, with Elijah the prophet, thy servant, and with the kingdom of the house of David, thine anointed. Soon may he come and rejoice our hearts. Suffer not a stranger to sit upon his throne, nor let others any longer inherit his glory; for by thy holy name thou didst swear unto him, that his light should not be quenched for ever. “In His days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which He will be called; The Lord, Our Righteousness. Blessed art thou, O Lord, who sprouts a horn of salvation for His people, Israel.” Here, Messiah Son of David is identified with the figure mentioned in Jeremiah 23, ‘YHWH, Our Righteousness’.

“Tzror Hamor” Genesis, Parashat Vayechi”: “As they both confessed to the wrong they had done, Judah juxtaposed Reuben… Oh, I will show him the salvation of God! Since he admitted, he received the kingship and from him came a Messiah who will save Israel, as it is written: ‘In His days, Judah will be saved.’”

Here the commentator explains Judah’s privilege – that the Messiah would come from him, and is basing his words on Jeremiah 23:6, meaning that he also saw this verse as a Messianic prophecy which claims that the Messiah will be God.

In Midrash Mishle (Proverbs), Rabbi Hona names seven names for the Messiah: “Yinnon, YHWH Our Righteousness, Shoot, Comforter, David, Shiloh, and Elijah.”

In Midrash Eichah 1 it says about this verse: “What is the name of the Messiah King?” Rabbi Abba Bar-Kahana said: ‘The Lord’ is his name, and that is the name by which He will be called, The LORD, Our Righteousness”.

In Midrash Tehilim (Psalms) it is written that God calls the Messiah by His name, and what is His name? The answer given is: “YHWH, Man of War” (Exodus 15:3). And about the Messiah we read: “And that is His name by which He will be called: YHWH, Our Righteousness”

Did you get it? The Sages attributed “YHWH, Our Righteousness” in Jeremiah 23:6 to be speaking about the Messiah.

Cheers.

Jesus' Use of "Ego Eimi" in the New Testament

The Greek phrase ἐγώ εἰμι ("Ego Eimi") is the Septuagint equivalent of "Ani Hu."

In key instances, Jesus uses this phrase to identify Himself, often in ways that parallel the self-revelation of YHWH in the Hebrew Scriptures:

John 8:24
"Unless you believe that I am He (ἐγώ εἰμι), you will die in your sins."

This echoes Isaiah 43:10, where belief in "Ani Hu" is tied to knowing YHWH.

John 8:28
"When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He (ἐγώ εἰμι)."

Similar to Isaiah 43:13, where YHWH declares His unique identity in acts of salvation.

John 8:58
"Before Abraham was, I am (ἐγώ εἰμι)."

Jesus’ statement here mirrors YHWH’s self-identification in Exodus 3:14 ("I AM WHO I AM"), affirming His eternal existence.

John 13:19
"From now on I am telling you before it happens, so that when it does happen, you may believe that I am He (ἐγώ εἰμι)."

This reflects Isaiah 46:9-10, where YHWH declares His ability to foretell the future as evidence of His deity.

Mark 14:62
"I am (ἐγώ εἰμι), and you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven."

This response during Jesus’ trial combines divine self-identification with the imagery of Daniel 7:13-14.

Matthew 14:27 / Mark 6:50 / John 6:20
"Take courage; I am (ἐγώ εἰμι), do not be afraid."

These statements echo YHWH's comforting declarations in passages like Isaiah 41:10.

Scholarly Perspectives on Ani Hu and Ego Eimi

Anthony Rogers:
Rogers highlights the significance of "Ani Hu" in the Hebrew Scriptures as a declaration of YHWH’s exclusive divinity and sovereignty. He argues that when Jesus uses "Ego Eimi," especially in contexts like John 8:58, He unmistakably identifies Himself with the God of Israel. Rogers points out that the surrounding Jewish audience understood these claims as blasphemous unless Jesus truly was YHWH, as evidenced by their reaction (e.g., John 8:59, where they pick up stones to kill Him).

Richard Bauckham:
In Jesus and the God of Israel, Bauckham asserts that Jesus’ use of "Ego Eimi" directly links Him to YHWH’s self-revelation in Isaiah. Bauckham contends that the Gospel of John intentionally presents Jesus as participating in the unique identity of the one true God.

C.K. Barrett:
Barrett notes that the "Ego Eimi" sayings of Jesus in John’s Gospel are not mere self-identifications but theological claims of divine status. He underscores their parallels to Isaiah’s use of "Ani Hu," where YHWH declares His uniqueness and supremacy.

Craig Keener:
Keener, in his Commentary on the Gospel of John, explains that the repeated use of "Ego Eimi" by Jesus would have resonated with Jewish audiences familiar with the Septuagint. He argues that Jesus’ claims transcend the role of a prophet or agent, directly affirming His divine nature.

Daniel B. Wallace:
Wallace emphasizes that the Greek construction ἐγώ εἰμι often carries emphatic significance. In contexts like John 8:58, the lack of a predicate nominative suggests a timeless, absolute self-existence, aligning Jesus with YHWH’s declaration in Exodus 3:14 and Isaiah’s "Ani Hu."

N.T. Wright:
Wright acknowledges that Jesus’ claims to deity, particularly in the "Ego Eimi" statements, reflect a conscious identification with Israel’s God. He points out that these declarations place Jesus squarely within the framework of Jewish monotheism while redefining its boundaries to include the Son.

Key Cross-References
Exodus 3:14: "I AM WHO I AM" (Hebrew: Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh), foundational to the divine self-revelation.

Isaiah 41:10 / 43:1-2: YHWH’s comforting promises that echo Jesus’ words in John 6:20.

Daniel 7:13-14: The Son of Man imagery combined with divine authority, as seen in Mark 14:62.

Revelation 1:8, 17-18: Jesus' declarations of being the "Alpha and Omega," echoing Isaiah 41:4 and 48:12.

Enjoy your day.

Great post.

I think when the Bible,Old and New Testaments,Testimonies, tell us Jesus is God, that's absolute irrevocable truth.

When those truths are in writing as God's words revealing Himself and we run across people in the world who insist those words are not true, are not there, it is because they do not have the eyes to see.

They do not have the ears to hear Spirit leading them to understanding.

God knows why that is,not us. As we are told.

And J. then let me explain further with much more MEANING, in what you actually said or reacted to, before you get too excited and so desire that the Son of God is God or YHWH. And it does not of course...sorry.

The concept of “YHWH as our righteousness” emphasizes the role of Jesus Christ as the embodiment of righteousness. This idea is derived from Jeremiah 23:6, as you said, which states, “In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His Name by which He will be called: YHWH OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.” This verse is interpreted to refer to Jesus Christ, who is seen as the ultimate fulfillment of the promise of righteousness by God, his Father. His Father YHWH chose this appropriate title for him.

And yes to uses ONE source and an appropriate one for this subject, Charles Haddon Spurgeon, in his sermon titled “Jehovah-Tsidkenu: The Lord Our Righteousness,” emphasizes that Jesus Christ’s life and death constitute the righteousness by which believers are clothed. He notes that Jesus fulfilled the law perfectly and that his life and death provide the means for believers to be accepted by God. This righteousness is not something that originates within us but is a gift from God through faith in Christ.

And so, Jesus Christ, as the King from the line of David, embodies the righteousness of YHWH. That Jesus is not YHWH himself. The righteousness of God’s people is not an achievement but a human person—Jesus Christ. This righteousness is imputed to believers, meaning that they are counted as righteous because of their faith in Christ. It is crucial for salvation and that the Son cannot possibly be YHWH; that would not be logical and scriptural.

So, the label “YHWH as our righteousness” is given by the Father to the Son, Jesus Christ, emphasizing that through faith in Him, believers are clothed with the righteousness of God.

So did you get this memo J.?

Source: Jesus’ Claims That He Is God – NIV Bible

“He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives the one who sent me.” Matthew 10:40

A convincing piece of evidence of Jesus’ divinity is his self-perception, revealed in statements like Matthew 10:40, in which he claims that he and God are one in the same. The Gospels record many statements made by Jesus that confirm he knew of his divinity; however, some interpreters claim that Jesus never intended to make such shocking statements. Do Jesus’ words really confirm that he thought he was God?

On many occasions, Jesus made claims with unprecedented authority. Although God communicated his message through many prophets in the Old Testament, they all knew that their teachings were not their own; they were merely messengers (see Isaiah 44:24–26; Haggai 1:13).

Jesus, however, knew he was more than God’s messenger. Ten times in Matthew, Jesus corrected misunderstandings of the law or overruled Jewish custom by his own authority, saying, “You have heard that it was said . . . But I tell you” (see, for example, Matthew 5:22, 27–28, 31–32).

As seen in Matthew 10:40, Jesus equated himself with God. He also knew that the Father had given him authority, and he claimed that authority (see John 5:25–27; 10:17–18; 17:2). Jesus didn’t just claim to be God; he backed up that assertion with amazing feats of healing, with astounding demonstrations of power over nature, with transcendent and unprecedented teaching, with divine insights into people, and ultimately with his own resurrection from the dead. So when Jesus claimed to be God, it was not some sort of delusion; rather, it was the absolute truth.

What Risks Came with these Bold Claims?

The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.” Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.” John 4:25–26

By fulfilling the ancient prophecies found in the Old Testament, and by assigning to himself a term only used of God, Jesus affirmed his identity as the one sent by God to be the Savior of Israel and the world.

When a Samaritan woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming,” Jesus replied, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.” Having made this unambiguous claim, if he then failed to match the prophetic portrait, Jesus would be an imposter worthy of rejection and disdain—a false prophet who should be rejected by Jews and Gentiles alike.

Jesus also applied a well-known term to himself that only God claimed in the Old Testament. In John 8:58, Jesus claims that “before Abraham was born, I am!” Jesus makes seven other “I am” statements that testify to his divinity: “I am,” said Jesus, “the bread of life,” “the light of the world,” “the gate,” “the good shepherd,” “the resurrection and the life,” “the way and the truth and the life,” and “the true vine” (John 6:48; 8:12; 10:9,11; 11:25; 14:6; 15:1).

Jesus’ audience would have immediately recognized the significance of his “I am” statements – he clearly intended to express his divinity. By referring to himself as “I am,” Jesus claimed to share the same name and nature as God, which is powerful evidence that reinforces his divine character.

In these many statements, Jesus put his credibility on the line. If he fulfilled the prophecies, then he was indeed the Messiah. If he could back up his “I am” statements by his suffering, death and resurrection, then he was God in the flesh. But if he fell short in any of these areas, he would certainly have been exposed as a fraud.

Jesus knew he was the person appointed by God to execute the climactic saving act of God in human history. He had been authorized by God, empowered by God, he spoke for God, and he was directed by God to do this task. So what Jesus said, God said. What Jesus did was the work of God.

How Is Jesus Different from All Other Religious Figures?

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

Jesus was unlike any person who preceded him or anyone who will follow him. While other religious figures throughout history have given wisdom and spiritual guidance to millions of people, two factors distinguish Jesus from the rest: first, his divinity, and second, his love.

Jesus, the King of heaven, selflessly forfeited the comforts of heaven and rejected all offers of earthly power or wealth to lead a short, simple life. Ultimately, he proved the depth of his love by sacrificing his life on our behalf. As the Son of God, he so loved the world that he paved a path to God for everyone who acknowledges him as God (see John 3:16; 14:6).

The major flaw in your reference: Yahshua the Messiah never usurped his Father's position or the personal name of himself never, and never ever called himself the one and only YHWH.

He never said 'I am who I am' of himself to Moses, as he did not exist yet. This alone show the ignorance of your reference article and possibly of yourself if you really agree with it. And the translation in Exodus of the so-called 'I AM' capitalized, for great bias and deception is incorrect and intellectually dishonest. It MUST be a 'to be' expression.....

And to think that the Greek expression of 'I am' or 'I am he' is so special is beyond me. It was never used in Exodus drawn from its Hebraic language source.

What you are entertaining here is another fraudulent twist of the hands, as in a magic trick by Trinitarian translators and their preachers.

Just like those that are so desperate to make the Son the Father God. In this case they used the expression either the incorrect "I AM" and the correct 'I am who I am' for example and forced it to mean a common Greek expression where the translators most probably and deliberately added the words at the end of the sentence, of Jesus, into English, for a extra false emphasis and with added biased meaning. It should have been translated with the words at the beginning of the sentence... (yes) I am greater than Abraham ever was ...as he finally answered the query posed by the Pharisees...

The expression from Greek of 'I am' or' I am he' is common grammatical term applied to any human being as it was used in other areas of the NT. And most began into the English translation with the statement of 'I am..', at the start of the sentence.

Scripture says that although Jesus was equal with God, He thought it not robbery to be made in the likeness of men, taking on the form of a man becoming subject to death and the cross.

Ok Taken, you typically list this scripture, however do you really understand them?

Can you attempt to expand on say Isaiah 9:6 for example and clearly say how this verse means the Christ is YHWH? Take your time, because I believe it's a quite impossible task, really!

And if you cannot do it with that one, then go to the next one and the next one....I await then your understanding and reasoning of them

In Brief;
My understanding IS:
God is invisible.
God IS Spirit.
God HAS Spirits.
God IS Creator AND Maker.
God establishes TERMS applicable to manKIND…

God established “Genders AND Relationships”
Male /Female…and multiple things they are called:
Men, women, fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, boys, girls, brothers, sisters, etc.

And THEN…God USES parallels of what is FAMILIAR to manKIND to teach ABOUT Himself.

What IS “A” created (single one) manKIND of Being?
It IS a Fertilized Egg by the seed of man, that IS a Body, Of Dust “Formed” by the hand of God…and it’s Life is Blood.

What IS “A” soul?
It IS Gods possession.
It is Given an INDIVIDUAL (at birth, delivered, no longer dependent on the Placenta in the Female for nutrients, oxygen, or waste disposal)
The individuals BODY, receiving a Soul…IS God MAKING (VIA…Gods power, Gods Breath OF LIFE) of what He Created.
* The BODY IS sentenced, will, shall DIE.

The Living (Gods Breath) soul…causes the man, the “communication” skills to be MADE Active.
* Created…EYES, EARS, NOSE, MOUTH, TONGUE, FLESH…
* are MADE TO: SEE, HEAR, SMELL, UTTER SOUNDS, TASTE, FEEL TOUCH.
* The soul IN an individual WILL carry the Same “Identity” markers AS the BODY (names, titles, descriptions, etc.)
* The SOUL…with Gods Life (breath) IN the Soul REMAINS a Living SOUL, whether it Remains IN an ALIVE BODY, or DEPARTS out of a Dead Body.
* AFTER Judgement Day…
Gods Life (breath) Shall Depart Any unSaved SOUL…and the LifeLESS Body and LifeLESS soul destroyed and Forgotten.

The “INDIVIDUAL’S” Brain / MIND begins Learning information With his Activated Communication abilities…

Such INFORMATION…learned…from other individuals, tvs, electronics, books, etc., observing, imitating, inquiring, etc.
MANS - Knowledge! Truths, speculations, deceit, Lies. Stored in the Brain for recall or dismissed or forgotten.

The HEART of a man…IS the Core organ that KEEP the Life (Blood) of a man PHYSICALLY maintaining his created Body.

The Heart of a man IS ALSO where the NATURAL spirit of man IS .
* What is the Natural Spirit of man?
A mans TRUE ABSOLUTE Belief, regardless of truth, deceit, speculation, conjecture, guessing, doubts, his MIND believes.

* IT IS from the individuals Belief in his natural spirit IN heart, IN his natural bodily Life (blood)…which God “Requires”, ANY individual man’s CONFESSION of Belief TO the Lord…in God, in Jesus is the Christ…

* If so a man CHOOSES to MAKE that Confession TO the Lord…AND the mans CONFESSION is Verified to BE True…(by God who searches the Heart)…
THEN…(yes THEN) shall Gods Power enter that mans Heart…circumcise the heart, give that man a New Heart, give that new heart the SEED of God, to Birth that man A New Spirit…AND a continual Diet of being FED Gods Word According TO God….
And THAT mans spirit, is thus MADE born AGAIN….FOREVER.

Creation is Finished…but Not Done.
Making is Finished for some, but not others.

You, ARE…one individual body, one individual soul, one individual spirit…

Three things, created AND made to be established ONE WHOLE Terrestrial being called manKind, with multiple names, titles, descriptions, tasks you accomplish, under this name, that name, this title, that title, this time, that time…

AND?
If you believe God MADE you IN His Likeness and Image…why does Gods multiple names, titles, descriptions, works, MAKINGS…confuse you that it IS NOT the SAME, EVEN, EQUAL ONE Lord God Almighty?

Were you called a son?
Were you called a father?
Does that MAKE you Two persons?

God repeatedly taught…He is God of “mens” own fathers(human dads).

Who figured out the parallel…AND TAUGHT… human men have fathers, head of households??
That HE, the Maker IS the FATHER of men God MAKES.

That would be MOSES.
Deut. 32:
[6] Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?

Who IS God?
Who IS the Word of God?
Who IS the MAKER?

John 1:
[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
[2] The same was in the beginning with God.
[3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Trying to conclude Spiritual things with a logical thinking Carnal Mind IS A Fail.

Scripture gives us Knowledge…but it is God who gives us Understanding “OF His Knowledge”.

1 Chr.
[12] Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God.

1 Tim 2:
[7] Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

It is our option to seek, ask, trust His Understanding…or not.

God bless you.

Glory to God,
Taken

Scripture says that although Jesus was equal with God, He thought it not robbery to be made in the likeness of men, taking on the form of a man becoming subject to death and the cross.
You say.

While the scriptures you posted reiterate Immanuel was God.

Matthew 1:22-23
[22]Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
[23]Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is,
God with us.

The expression from Greek of 'I am' or' I am he' is common grammatical term applied to any human being as it was used in other areas of the NT. And most began into the English translation with the statement of 'I am..', at the start of the sentence.
Try harder--
JESUS: THE ONE AND ONLY ADONAY YHWH
According to the inspired Scriptures, the risen heavenly Jesus is the believers’ only Master and Lord:

“For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into sensuality and who deny our ONLY Master and Lord, Jesus Christ (ton MONON despoten kai kyrion hemon ‘Iesoun Christon).” Jude 1:4

Interestingly, the majority of Greek manuscripts actually describe Jesus as our only sovereign God and Lord!

“… and denying our only Master, GOD, and Lord, Jesus Christ (ton monon despoten THEON kai kyrion hemon ‘Iesoun Christon).” World English Bible (WEB)

The notes provided by the New English Translation (NET) are helpful in explaining why this passage is quite significant, in fact remarkable, in affirming the Deity of Christ:

tc Most later witnesses (P Ψ 5 88 1175 1611 1735 2492 M sy) have θεόν (theon, “God”) after δεσπότην (despotēn, “master”), which appears to be a motivated reading in that it explicitly links “Master” to “God” in keeping with the normal NT pattern (see Luke 2:29; Acts 4:24; 2 Tim 2:21; Rev 6:10). In patristic Greek, δεσπότης (despotēs) was used especially of God (cf. BDAG 220 s.v. 1.b.). The earlier and better witnesses (P א A B C 0251 33 81 323 436 442 1241 1243 1739 2344 al co) lack θεόν; the shorter reading is thus preferred on both internal and external grounds.

sn The Greek term for Master (δεσπότης, despotēs) is the same term the author of 2 Peter used (2 Pet 2:1) to describe his Lord when he prophesied about these false teachers. Since δεσπότης is used only ten times in the NT, the verbal connection between these two books at this juncture is striking. This is especially so since both Peter and Jude speak of these false teachers as denying the Master (both using the same verb). The basic difference is that Peter is looking to the future, while Jude is arguing that these false teachers are here now.

tn The terms “Master and Lord” both refer to the same person. The construction in Greek is known as the Granville Sharp rule, named after the English philanthropist-linguist who first clearly articulated the rule in 1798. Sharp pointed out that in the construction article-noun-καί-noun (where καί [kai] = “and”), when two nouns are SINGULAR, personal, and common (i.e., NOT PROPER NAMES), they always had the same referent. Illustrations such as “the friend and brother,” “the God and Father,” etc. abound in the NT to prove Sharp’s point. For more discussion see ExSyn 270-78. See also Titus 2:13 and 2 Pet 1:1. (NET Bible Jude 1; emphasis mine)

This is where it becomes rather astonishing.

The Greek rendering of the Old Testament, typically referred to as the Septuagint (LXX, the translation of the seventy), identifies YHWH as the believers’ one and only Lord. It even translates the Hebrew words YHWH and Adonay as despotes, in confirmation that YHWH is the only sovereign Lord God.

I include the Greek words employed in the Septuagint version (LXX) of the Hebrew Bible:

“And the Levites, Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said, ‘Rise up, bless Yahweh your God from everlasting to everlasting! O may Your glorious name be blessed And exalted above all blessing and praise! You alone are Yahweh (kyrios monos). You have made the heavens, The heaven of heavens with all their host, The earth and all that is on it, The seas and all that is in them. You give life to all of them And the heavenly host bows down to You.’” Nehemiah 9:5-6

“And Abram said, ‘O Lord Yahweh (despota kyrie), what will You give me, as I go on being childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?’… And he said, ‘O Lord Yahweh (despota kyrie), how may I know that I will possess it?’” Genesis 15:2, 8

“Therefore the Lord (kyrios), Yahweh of hosts (ho despotes sabaoth), The Mighty One of Israel, declares, “Ah, I will be comforted concerning My adversaries, And I will avenge Myself on My enemies.” Isaiah 1:24

“For behold, the Lord (ho despotes), Yahweh of hosts (kyrios sabaoth), is going to remove from Jerusalem and Judah Both supply and support, the whole supply of bread And the whole supply of water,” Isaiah 3:1

“Behold, the Lord (ho despotes), Yahweh of hosts (kyrios sabaoth), will lop off the boughs with a terrible crash; Those also who are high in stature will be cut in pieces And those who are lofty will be made low.” Isaiah 10:33

“Then I said, ‘Alas, Lord Yahweh (ho despota kyrie)! Behold, I do not know how to speak Because I am a youth.’” Jeremiah 1:6

“Then I said, ‘Ah, Lord Yahweh (ho despota kyrie)! Surely You have utterly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, “You will have peace”; whereas a sword touches the throat.’” Jeremiah 4:10

“So now, O Yahweh (despota kyrie), please take my life from me, for death is better to me than life.”” Jonah 4:3

What this shows is that Jude has basically described Christ as the one and only Adonay YHWH (monos despotes kyrios) that became flesh!

Philippians 2:5-8
[5]Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
[6]Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
[7]But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
[8]And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
And if you want to know what it means, it does not mean the Son of God in the one and only YHWH, AJ.
Start with verse 5 of course.

Why are we encouraged to have the mind of Christ? Because it's possible of course. And with this mind we can understand his God, our God and his Father, who is also our Father. Paul as with John wants us to know we can be in Christ and his Father, then God can be in both.

This is a major thread for a believer's growth to understand. Just referencing the Book, Chapter and verses and ceremonially saying it all means that Jesus is God, does a great disservice to not only God, our Father, and his Son, also Paul's inspired message.

This verse 5 is the key verse and context to be used for the next 3 -4 verses. Must remember this when examining these subsequent verses.
Now Paul is going to describe HOW we can have this mind of Christ, that his is only human, as ours, with one major difference, at least whilst he was on the earth.

Verse 6...

Verse 6a is saying that Jesus was made (living/existing or being) in the 'form' or outer mosaic of his God. He had the mind and mental attitude of his Father, even from his birth, and therefore partook of his Father's divinity, possessing the divine attributes of his Father. The one being the source is not the same as the one drawing from the source or well of divinity, right?

So Paul is setting the stage to let us know that Christ was NOT divine else he would not have to be in a form or the appearance of God, as he only possessed some divine characteristics that enables him to understand and work with his Father as one, of two spirits working as one spirit, of the Father.

By the way the expression use in verse65b is not the best, although it still can be understood and does make its critical point.

Why would the Son not think that being 'equal' with the Father was not robbing him of his divinity and his unique and superior mind? Because the Son, knowing of course he was not God (I really should not even have to bring this obvious point up) the Son was not divine of course. Why do you think that Yahshua might have made such a statement IF he WAS GOD and divine! That would make no sense now would it. Can you think of another reason then...?

And using the better translation of 6b
He did not think to grasp or use his Father's name (as irresponsible or acting in human vanity) and his divinity for himself because Christ was not divine. And if he did, Christ would not be chosen from the foundation of the 'world' to be the Messiah....he would have already sinned..

Verse 7..8..

So because Yahshua was obedient and loved his Father, God, he arrested and evacuated his own will as if it never existed and desired to use only his Father's will. And in the process, became over time, a man of zero reputation and insignificant in this world, a man only to become the humble servant of his God. It was all about glorifying his God and not himself. This is the mind of Christ indeed that we must attain to grow in the same spirit of Christ we possess today!

And he went to the Cross in love and true obedience to his God.

I say to anyone, do we or are we acquiring the mind of Christ to carry and go to the Cross with Christ every day for our common God and Father? We can...

So what has this scripture to do with Jesus being God? Nothing

Great Day AJ

You have not the foggiest idea what E(I) mmanuel means, in the OT and neither in the NT? Study your Bible for understanding for a change.

There are so many scriptures that plainly state that Jesus is God, it's unavoidable. The verses I quoted not only state that He is equal with God, but that He was the example of humility.

What that verse is not saying is that we too are equal with God. If that were so, we would be given a name that is above every name like Jesus. lol
No, these scriptures are saying that if Jesus Himself who is equal with God can humble Himself, we ought to be able to humble ourselves as well. Christ is our ultimate example.

Here's another scripture that speaks to the same thing. The Jews knew exactly what Jesus was saying, which is why they hated Him and accused Him of blasphemy.

John 5:18
[18]Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

Cheers.
