Do you think technology and life being easier in the West has contributed to the disbelief in God? I always find that when things aren't going well, especially health wise, my mind tends to go back to God.

The thing is, this impending doom I've been feeling... maybe it's something serious. I don't know how much time I have left on this earth. So maybe it would be a good idea to finally get right with God. I don't know what happens when we die, but I want to be on the right side. Whatever it is.

I do.

I always find that when things aren't going well, especially health wise, my mind tends to go back to God.

The creation, of which we are a part, yearns for the creator in times of difficulty. The Messiah’s God and Father is the creator. The way to God is through his Son, the Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth.

The thing is, this impending doom I've been feeling... maybe it's something serious. I don't know how much time I have left on this earth. So maybe it would be a good idea to finally get right with God. I don't know what happens when we die, but I want to be on the right side. Whatever it is.

Jesus is sitting now at the right hand of the God whom you desire to get right with. The right side is found in Jesus. His words are spirit and life. To obtain what you want, you have to hear Jesus preaching the gospel of the kingdom. You have to believe him and obey him.

Listen to Jesus. See what he has done and is doing. Hear what he is saying. Understand him. Repent of your sin and you will be forgiven. Believe and be baptized.

The word Jesus speaks is the seed of immortality.

Well, thank you. I do appreciate your efforts. But quoting scripture isn't going to change my mind. I cannot discern what a true believer is from one who isn't. I rely on believers to stay true to their word. When they stab me in the back after I call them friend, then there is no redemption.

The bottle doesn't betray me. It's honest in what it is. Just think about that for a moment. Christians are being outclassed in common decency by a bottle of liquor. How awful is that? It's difficult to even fathom how such a thing could be possible.

Whoa. That's a terrible thing for to hear anyone to say, it.
Well, I know a real chemist and he told me that technically, alcohol is a solution so you may be on to something, lol.

All kidding aside though, let me apologize for those people who let you down as Christians. Not all Christians are like that. I was saved and Baptised as a kid and remember it. Then I got married and fell out of young faith. But an auto accident that was making me look death in the face and I knew it so I reached out to God and said, Lord be with me, and He saved me so I returned to walking with the Lord, with a seriousness. Want to know what He did for me for that small obedience?

All sorts of stuff. I have more supernatural testimonies that I personally experienced than I can keep track of. How many would you like to hear?!

I'd bet money that...christian people aside, you already know that there aint no atheist's in foxholes. So if you never were able to connect with God, then I can tell you why. The bible tells us to seek for Him diligently, and that when you seek the Lord with all your heart, you will find Him, And that was my experience because I did it and have the testimonies.

So if you were never able to connect with God for real it is probably because you went it it half heartedly. Only you know the effort you put into it but basically scripture says that we are to read the bible daily, every day. And pray to Him about everything, and to pray unceasingly. But God wants to make sure that you are serious about seeking Him or wanting to know Him. He don't do it with read the bible for two days and pray one of those days for 5 minutes...He wont do you any favors for that. But do it 30-60-90 days in a row and praying every day, where are you show me. When you do that long enough, then He sneaks up on you one day or night and says Hi, you was knocking on my door? (or something) you stand in awe because only God can do something like that what just happened...

So read and pray more and I guarantee you can find the Lord in a big way. And you will not need for any man to teach you is what scripture says if you read some in the bible every day it will cause your heart to believe in God. You can the entire Bible cover to cover by reading 3 chapters every day..

What happens if the Lord God really did write the Bible and on judgment day He asks you..did you read my book, my instructions to you?
What will you say?

I started reading it complete every year, start over in Genesis and finish the year reading about Heaven and New Jerusalem... Of course the bible is hard to understand at first. He wrote it that way on purpose. But when you read it every day, it gets easier to understand every time you read it. So be mad at rude christians if you want to, but don't stop seeking God.

As far in the world, I believe the great falling away is happening now.

I think this country is about to receive judgment from God somehow. It could be war before the new year, Russians or Migrants, take your pick.

The US id fighting Russians right now in Ukraine. That is a Russia/USA conflict under the flag of Ukraine, but it's still the US. I'm surprised Putin hasn't hit us on our soil yet to make us divide our resources. That's why I think it's coming very soon. We are on the brink of war. We might even get a grid down or major countrywide earthquake too?

But the Bible says that God did not give us a spirit of fear. He protects His people. But if you have never accepted Jesus into your heart, then you don't have any protection. So study to show thyself approved and pray a lot!

I saw this and thought about you @Riven.

Dr. Sagan was a brilliant man but he died an agnostic.

Are you concerned that you’re possibly putting yourself at risk of being bamboozled by Christianity?

No. I'm afraid of being bamboozled by Christians. It's sometimes difficult to tell who's genuine and who isn't.

Since we last spoke, there have been some changes. Long story short, I basically spoke to God, like I'm speaking with you now. I laid it all out and said what I needed to say.

At the end, I acknowledged that Christ is Lord. That he is the messiah. That he did conquer death, and most of all, he is real. Well... It actually felt pretty good to say it. It was like a weight had been lifted off of me. My anxieties about mortality and the meaning of life just... went away. I feel like I can relax for the first time in so long.

So... I'm not sure if that makes me a Christian or not. But that's where I am right now.

I get it. I wouldn’t want to be in your shoes at the stage you’re in.

Just so you know, I’m a Jewish monotheist, not a trinitarian, who believes that Jesus is the promised Messiah. Most Christians don’t think I’m a genuine Christian.

Sounds like you’re on your way. Acts 8:12 is the biblical model I follow.

Yeah, I can see why they might take issue with that. Why call yourself a Christian then?

I’m no longer registered as a Christian here. (I always have been on other internet discussion forums.) After a few trinitarian members here loudly objected to me being allowed to become a member of the Board, I changed my original registration from “Christian” to “Other Faith”. The consequence of that change is that I’m no longer able to post in forums here marked “Christians Only”. I’m satisfied with the arrangement. (I should be. I’m the one who proposed it in the interest of being a peacemaker, as much as it depends on me.)

Thanks for letting me know about your new situation. It really made my day and came as an answer to my prayers for you. (I’m sure others, including the trinitarians, have been praying for you too.)

You might want to consider contacting an administrator to request a change in your registration from “Agnostic” to “Christian”. If approved it will give you access to “Christians Only” forums that you currently don’t have the privilege of posting in. (If you do, drop down here and visit an old Jewish monotheist some time.)

Whatever you decide to do, I wish you well. Now that you’ve started the journey, don’t stop. Don’t ever stop.

You told me in another thread this morning that you’ve been pretending. Why, for what purpose, were you pretending?

Because I believed there was a chance I was wrong about people. I know now that I wasn't. I don't wish to discuss it further.

I'm sorry you've been disappointed by people. It's inevitable as long as we live in this world.

God will reveal Himself to the hungry and seeking heart ....thankfully, this is between you and Him, and there is no need to have the approval of man. pryrwHb

I respect your wish but I will tell you this: Even if every person on the planet was the devil incarnate it wouldn’t separate me from God and his Messiah.

“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

(Matthew 7:13-14)

The wide gate and the broad way that leads to destruction has once again been chosen; another has entered through it.

As sad as that is, and as much as my spirit grieves over it, I will not allow it to keep me from the small gate and the narrow path that leads to life.

****

Turn back, I urge all who are on the path that leads to destruction, while there remains time to do so.
