"Mormons, along with many other Christian denominations, believe in deification or theosis, based on the teaching that we can become heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). Little is known, though much might be speculated, about the specific details of our potential under this doctrine." Question: Do Mormon men believe that they will become "gods of their own planets" and rule over others? - FAIR
"A term used in the tradition of Orthodox theology to refer to the participation of the human person in the life of God. It is also known as deification or divinization. It means “being made God” and reflects the dominant Orthodox understanding of salvation in Christ." Theosis
God the Father, Jesus the Christ and the Holy Ghost have instructed me on that issue. I will testify of my place under God as a child of God. I will look at what I believe is the relevant scripture:
Ephesians 1:11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, 12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. 13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
The above scripture uses specific words intended to convey a specific message. And the statement is: "In Him also we have obtained an inheritance". First it will be "In Him" and second it is "an inheritance". God the Father, Jesus the Christ and the Holy Ghost are God we are not them as children, love of God is what we should be part of as children and also love of our brothers and sisters in Christ, and that is a proper position for a Christian. Jesus the Christ also has a resurrected and glorified body, the resurrection of man is not to that glory. God's glory is spelled out in the book of Revelation which is King of Kings, Lord of Lords. What does Jesus say in the bible related to our resurrection:
Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven. 31 But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, 32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”
Do the previous verses sound like Lords, Kings or servants for us as children and our future state with God. I can discern my proper place under God and I will accept to be the servant of God with my free will I have been given and that I have confessed to God during communications with him. Jesus the Christ did not say there was a marriage in heaven. If there is a change to that, it would have to be testified to each person from God that a change to Jesus the Christs testimony were true. I did not receive that testimony but also realized that we were created male and female for a purpose and that would also be spiritually in heaven before our pre-existence. And that pre-existence is clear to anyone that has read Revelation and all the Old and New Testaments. I believe we may have angel partners who are a comfort to us. God is certainly a comfort to his children and to much more power.
There is also the resurrection to consider that Jesus proclaimed in the bible:
John 5:26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, 27 and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. 28 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.
A couple witnesses I have regarding the above scripture. First Jesus said there is no one good Except for God. God desires all to be saved. He provides good works for us to enjoy. And directs us towards good works and rewards us often when doing good works in good ways. Christians are carried by God that way which is loving of Him. There is the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. The fruits of good works of the Holy Ghost are stated from Paul's witness in the bible:
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Regarding John 5:26-27 -> Will we have command of the spirit of Life of God? I don't believe so, as that is not a child function. When I look at John 5:26-27 a accept that Jesus is given that power and desire to be saved by God and also resurrected and I certainly hope it is not to condemnation as described in John 5:29. So regarding the issue in this thread, are there false beliefs among the churches that teach that false doctrine that they believe they will resurrect themselves or anyone else. I thought I remembered many false teachings in the Mormon church that I did not accept or believe in the 10 years I was an active member. And also was blessed by the Holy Ghost. And now see false doctrine within that church. I don't know if they have confessed those crimes against God's children, but certainly hope they have addressed that with God and repented of those actions.
If you are caught in any of those false beliefs, and there probably is more I would suspect, you can always reach out to God in prayer and ask for him to deliver you from death and hell. He has the keys of death and hell. And I believe in his Power unto the Salvation of Man.
