Is the "Dome of the Rock" the abomination of desolation?

The Dome of the Rock was built 1300 years ago. The abomination of desolation is described as one of the final events just before Christ's return. So I don't think the two can be the same.

The abonination of desolation is the person of Antichrist. this event (the abomination) will take place when he enters teh rebuilt temple, sits on the mercy seat and declares himself God! that is when the Jews in Judea are to flee.
