[39] You search the scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness to me;
[40] yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life. John 5:39-40 RSV

The Bible just lets us see God as if through a dark glass, so no, the Bible itself is not God. But the invisible God can talk to us through His word called a Rhema. That is when a verse or passage seems to jump off the page at you and gives you goose bumps! When that happens God also gives you the gift of faith from 1 Corinthians 12. It is a supernatural kind of faith.

The Bible is not God , how can it be, it’s a Book...God is a Living Spirit, who is everywhere.

Doctrine cannot bring your spirit Alive in Christ...it can only help you understand the rebirth/ Born Again/ regenerated...there are no instructions on how to become Born Again, only by Gods Grace/Mercy can birth our spirit into His, it’s our spirit that must become Born Again.

We are regenerated by Gods Witness His Living Holy Spirit....the Bible words cannot regenerate your spirit..that can only come by divine revelation...which imo is a miracle/ supernatural event that you will NEVER forget..

Born of the Spirit in our spirit

When a baby is born, it’s born of its parents with the human life of its parents. To be born again, or regenerated, simply means we’re born of God with God’s life.

In John 3:6, Jesus explained to Nicodemus how this can be:

“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”

Note 2 on this verse in the New Testament Recovery Version helps us see what born of the Spirit is spirit means:

“The first Spirit mentioned here is the divine Spirit, the Holy Spirit of God, and the second spirit is the human spirit, the regenerated spirit of man. Regeneration is accomplished in the human spirit by the Holy Spirit of God with God’s life, the uncreated eternal life. Thus, to be regenerated is to have the divine, eternal life (in addition to the human, natural life) as the new source and new element of a new person.”

Our human spirit is the deepest part of our being. It was created in a particular way by God with the ability to contact and receive Him. When we believed in Jesus, our human spirit was born of the divine Spirit. Now we have the life of God!

God doesn’t want ethical people who don’t have His life. He wants human beings to become His children, begotten with His life.

Being born again has nothing to do with resolving to be a better person or turning over a new leaf. It has everything to do with being born of the Spirit in our spirit with the life of God.

John 6:63

Verse (Click for Chapter)
New International Version
The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.

New Living Translation
The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

English Standard Version
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

Berean Standard Bible
The Spirit gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.

Berean Literal Bible
It is the Spirit giving life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit and they are life.

Just as Gods written word is telling us here, it’s the “ Spirit “ that gives life....it’s all in his written word , that the Spirit Of God is Alive and Active.

Hebrews 4:12New King James Version (NKJV) For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

People today will talk about, " that's my bible ", when talking about an instruction manual or someother help book.
This is because Christians used to constantly refer back to the bible for advice etc on how to live, deal with problems etc etc.

The bible is how God revealed himself to the Israelites and to the early church, as well as to Christians through the ages.
It is not God, nor is it an idol as it points only to God.

I would say that when the Bible directly quotes God or Jesus, you are seeing the Word of God.

I've listened, seen, and talked to many preachers in the past who would say " the bible says" and then preach on it. Preachers nowadays don't do that because of multimedia. When preacher said the "bible says", they always referred to the Word of God, not the book itself.

If indeed the one reading the Bible has eyes to see. Consider this:

Mt 20:32And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?
Mt 20:33They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.
Mt 20:34So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

And then this:

Mt 7:7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Mt 7:8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

"Seek, and ye shall find." We have to make sure we are seeking.
