Been giving this some thought lately.

Mostly in the situation where someone accuses someone else of having "unbiblical" doctrine. Say what?

Be it true or false, isn't all doctrine biblical?

Doctrine is man-made.
It comes with biblical "proof-texts".
So, how could doctrine ever be unbiblical?

Is it biblical? - What does that even mean?

--- PARODY ---

Christian #1: Your beliefs aren't biblical.
Christian #2: Say what?
Christian #1: Your beliefs aren't biblical.
Christian #2: I don't understand.
Christian #1: Your beliefs are unbiblical.
Christian #2: That's ridiculous.
Christian #1: Why?
Christian #2: I gave you biblical support.
Christian #1: It was unbiblical.
Christian #2: Are you nuts?
Christian #1: It was clearly unbiblical.
Christian #2: How could that be?
Christian #1: It doesn't match the whole Bible view.
Christian #2: So it was biblical then?
Christian #1: No, it was unbiblical.
Christian #2: It was from MY "whole Bible" view.
Christian #1: That's unbiblical.
Christian #2: How can a Biblical view be unbiblical?
Christian #1: That doesn't make sense.
Christian #2: BINGO!

No. There's a bunch of doctrine... orthodox doctrine even... that comes from extra-Biblical sources.

For instance... there's more of our doctrine that comes from the book of Enoch than there is that comes from.. say... the gospel of Luke.

I suggest you stick to the Christian New Covenant so you don't burn in Hell forever with the Devil and VILE gays.

That was a weird direction to take... you don't think any of our doctrines come from extra-Biblical books?

What I am trying to address is doctrine that is indeed biblically-based that is being
called unbiblical simply because the opposing viewpoint disagrees with it.

@Jack Your understanding of eternal punishment, in common with so many others, insults God, destroys His character, and exalts the character and malignity and cruelty of satan. And yes. That teaching does not come from scripture, but was popularised by Dante. Contrary to the popular opinion, the teaching that God tortures and punishes people forever in burning fire inflicting pain and suffering without end, and deliberately keeping them alive in order to do so, is an abomination.

There are other doctrines that are also extra-biblical, and adhered to by the church only because of tradition, and a misapplication of scripture, as well as a mischatacterisation of the Creator, although not so abysmally as the above. Throughout human history, from even before the creation of man when Lucifer rebelled in heaven and spread lies and slander over God's character,
it has been Satan's prime tactic to denigrate, distort, twist, and trample underfoot God's character. Why are you so intent on helping him?

Are you referring to God of the Bible Who drowned all but 8 on Earth including children, burned Sodom alive including children and sent lions to kill people who didn't fear Him "making them an example"? Everybody will learn to fear God, now or in Hell, "FOREVER and ever"!

Those people died. You are talking about people who never die. Just suffer. And suffer. And suffer. So yeah, nuh. Same God bro. You just don't know Him.
