What did Jesus say were the only Commandments that a Christian should follow? It is clear from Christ's own words that those seeking eternal life must follow the Commandments, and from your own words Sunday has nothing given by God as the day of worship.
Matt 22:34-40…
”After the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they came together in one group. 35 And one of them, versed in the Law, tested him by asking: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 He said to him: “‘You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’ 38 This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 The second, like it, is this: ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments the whole Law hangs, and the Prophets.”
As a Jew, under Law he was answering a Jew under Law, but it’s interesting that he said…”On these two commandments the whole Law hangs, and the Prophets.”
For his disciples, all of whom were Jewish, the Law was binding until his death, which released them from “the curse of the Law”.
Gal 3:10, 13…
“All those who depend on works of law are under a curse, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not remain in all the things written in the scroll of the Law by doing them.” . . .
13 Christ purchased us, releasing us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse instead of us, because it is written: “Accursed is every man hung upon a tree.” (Deut 21:23)
All Christians were released from the curse of the Law including the Jews who accepted Jesus as Messiah.
For those Jews who rejected him (and still do almost 2000 years later) the Law still operates to continue to curse them. Christians are now under only two laws, which Jesus himself advocated……”You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’ 38 This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 The second, like it, is this: ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’”
These commands only are Christians under obligation to keep……no Sabbath observance was required here.
And where will I find that stated in Scripture? Upon what do you base that assumption? The mark of the Beast is its mark of authority, the substitute for the Sabbath, when we get to the end, this will be the point in which many Christians will fall.
The mark of the beast has nothing to do with the Sabbath, but everything to do with a Christian’s loyalty to God rather than to an authoritarian government.
I see very clearly that the Church of Rome set most of the doctrines by which those who identify as “Christians” even today, practice their faith…..but Christendom is not “Babylon the great”, even though she is the most reprehensible part, introducing all those doctrines that are held in paganism to this day.If one does not grasp or comprehend what deception the church of Rome has set as its mark, one could say, I didn't know. But you know with clarity who is this apostate church, Babylon, there is no reason for any other day as the Sabbath.
Their whole foundation revolves around three major beliefs that they all hold in common and that originated in ancient Babylon……a multiplicity of gods, many of which existed in triads…..belief that the dead are not really dead, but that some immortal part of them lives on in another (invisible) realm….and the destination of those immortal souls also has them enjoying either a heavenly bliss, or eternal torment in a fiery hell.
The Bible teaches none of those things.
I didn’t stop Hobie, which is why I see further than you apparently can…..I too keep the posters here in my prayers as God sees their responses to the Scriptures I post, along with clear explanations as to where we are in the stream of time, and who are the most vulnerable to satan’s lies. His web of deceit is wider than many imagine, and we will all answer to the same judge….some of us in total disbelief at the end! (Matt 7:21-23)You have eyes that see, the Holy Spirit has guided you past many obstacles to where you are today. Don't stop coming closer to God's truth, I will keep in prayer that God opens fully and shows the truth of the matter..
If you accept the trinity, immortality of the soul, and hellfire, along with all those unchristian celebrations that are all borrowed unashamedly from pagan religions, then you stopped learning what God requires of his worshippers…..no contamination with false religion or being “part of the world” can be acceptable to a genuine disciple of Christ. (2 Cor 6:14-18; John 18:36; 1 John 5:19)
These things are what separate “the sheep from the goats”….”the wheat from the weeds”. We are telling God who we really are every day of our lives by what we accept as truth. The majority will be found traveling the wrong road. (Matt 7:13-14) See what unites them all…..it’s got nothing to do with the Sabbath. It’s a red herring.
