Is the intolerance for opposing opinions that is now so prevalent across western society, any different from the religious intolerance that so dominated society during the dark ages? Are not the results the same?
Could it be that the ideology behind such intolerance, in both ages, has a common source?
Good topic Backlit...
Iv thought about this myself and i tend to agree with the 20th century scientist Karl Popper.
"if a society is tolerant without limit, its ability to be tolerant is eventually seized or destroyed by the intolerant. Karl Popper described it as the seemingly paradoxical idea that in order to maintain a tolerant society, the society must retain the right to be intolerant of intolerance."
Should we tolerate criminals and thieves? NO
Should we tolerate sin and the celebration of it? NO
Should we tolerate the attack on Gods Word? NO
Karl Poppers paradox of tolerance is well illustrated in this meme

"Popper contends that a society that tolerates intolerant ideas will succumb to the forces of the intolerant, which are inherently dangerous. Thus, the notion of a completely tolerant society is destroyed."
All this talk of being "tolerant" is just a cover. Another buzzword used by marxists to attract people. Words like "diversity", "inclusion", "equality"
Christ never told us to be tolerant of ungodly people, to be tolerant of people celebrating sin. We already tolerate too much behaviour which is contrary to Gods Word; adultery, abortion, transgenderism, homosexuality and the list goes on unitl we become a godless society without morals as its happened in the past and is happening now
