I would believe the Bible. The people who wrote it have much more integrity than those who wish to support the Adversary of God. Follow the morality, and you'll find the Person to believe.John told us, "We know that we are of God, and the whole world is in the power of the evil one." (1 John 5:19 RSV)

You say not to be deceived. Satan is the most subtle of all (Genesis 3:1). He deceives many. People in high places are deceived. The world is deceived. Perhaps we get deceived sometimes. But hopefully not too often.Satan is on a short leash...and yet just as he used Peter to try and thwart the salvation plan of God in Christ, Satan can and is working to prolong his end...even using many like Peter.
As for who to believe, believe only the Spirit. Test everything and everyone. But do not be deceived, even the scriptures can and are manipulated by Satan. Which means, like the two-check system for confirming identity online. we need to look beyond what was falsely taught causing strong delusion among many a would-be Christians. We need to look at things anew and consider again ALL that is written. Most of what is currently believed does not hold up to all that is written, only part.
What did they miss? Keep seeking the whole truth from God--truth that was not to be revealed except during these times before the sounding of the seventh angel--which no current doctrine has taken into account. That's the first test.
Be happy with 1 John 3:7 and 1 John 5:18John told us, "We know that we are of God, and the whole world is in the power of the evil one." (1 John 5:19 RSV)

Why did God give the whole world to Satan? And put us here to navigate through it when everything is predestined according to God's will and plan.John told us, "We know that we are of God, and the whole world is in the power of the evil one." (1 John 5:19 RSV)
So who are we to believe?
So that we can learn to resist evil. Otherwise we would cause trouble heaven. Why did God give the whole world to Satan? And put us here to navigate through it when everything is predestined according to God's will and plan.
In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.

God(Jesus, Immanuel="God with us"), who created the first Adam in his image and like likeness, was the last Adam. This is the revealing of the man of sin (all born of the flesh since the first Adam--one man) which was to come first before the day of the Lord which began 2,000 years ago with Christ the firstfruits--the Last Adam.
