I question whether conflicting doctrines can't all be true.
That seems like the "the wisdom of this world" that you warned about.
We see unresolved arguments on the forum that seem to indicate that conflicting doctrines are true.
Both sides line up with their biblical "proof-texts". Which one is true and which one is false?
Maybe they are both true, or even both false.
I'm not convinced that truth is a singular thing.
The inability of some individuals to reach a consensus does not imply that the biblical truths regarding specific matters have not been explicitly communicated.
Believing that differing, contradictory doctrinal perspectives stem from the Bible itself is merely a feeble justification for a lack of deep examination.
Numerous factors contribute to a person's unwillingness to entertain an alternative viewpoint from their own. Additionally, there are numerous individuals with ulterior motives who focus on fostering disputes rather than genuinely seeking resolutions.
Disputes persist in settings where individuals refuse to alter their opinions. The tactics and techniques to avoid conceding in a debate due to sheer ego seem to be limitless.
James 3:13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him by his fine conduct demonstrate works performed with a mildness that comes from wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter jealousy and contentiousness in your hearts, do not be bragging and lying against the truth. 15 This is not the wisdom that comes down from above; it is earthly, animalistic, demonic. 16 For wherever there are jealousy and contentiousness, there will also be disorder and every vile thing.
17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, reasonable, ready to obey, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial, not hypocritical. 18 Moreover, the fruit of righteousness is sown in peaceful conditions for those who are making peace.
