This is at times question, a groundhog day image of the illusion of time.
And if the darkness and the Lord's mercies are new every evening and morning--what is every day but a repeat of what was, making it what it now is? What does that all mean regarding creation, and even the age of this world, if everything is new each day?
What mind but the mind of God could hold such a scheme, a scheme of days and people in His image--"but each one in his own order," as numerous as the sand on the seashore?
