Philippians 4:12-19 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. [13] I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. [14] Notwithstanding you have well done, that you did communicate with my affliction. [15] Now you Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but you only. [16] For even in Thessalonica you sent once and again unto my necessity. [17] Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. [18] But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received …of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God. [19] But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

“I have all, and abound: I am full…”
I’ve been thinking a lot about this “I have all, and abound: I am full…” in regard to depression, anxiety, and struggles…asking “God where?” How could be “I am full”?

Then I thought of a friend.
This friend of mine is there whenever I forget. Bo matter how tired she is; she always takes the time to encourage, remind of better things, and strengthen. Sometimes it is just by her sending a verse for inspiration that day befor I go to work. A friend were even though I get lazy and sometimes take her for granted…she remains there. When I am low and feel forgotten or afraid; she helps with the hunger. her too I think hungering after righteousness by her love bestows upon me. where after we talk; I do feel full; satisfied; filled up again with hope and joy by a good exchange. Hopefully, I do the same for her. I can see she gets down also. yesterday I shared this passage with her and told her that I think of her in “But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of …” she cried and I could tell she also needed encouragement, hope and a “thank you.” …concerning giving and receiving,

I don’t share that except to share about relationship…how powerful it can be. do you have a friend that encourages and lifts you when you struggle to lift yourself?

The word friend really saddens me Vicky. Truth be told friends are extremely rare, even among those of the Christian faith. It is very sad how cruel people can be, but what can we control? Ourselves! One of the best passages ever written, and would settle most problems in the world if everyone would practice it, is Jesus' famous words at:
or more understandably, treat others the way you desire to be treated.

I know this wasn't exactly the point of your post, but truthfully it does apply. The best friends we have though is Jehovah and Jesus, but sadly each and every one of us falls short on our friendship with them.

My main thoughts were concerning:

But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of..’

A friend was one example I could think of.
Do you have any other to share concerning ‘But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of …’ yes I can see also what you mentioned. Experiencing also that when I’m hungry and spend time with God; being filled with Hope to where the focus is taken off of things that cause me to hunger; to things I am thankful for.

If we know and are partakers with God, then YES, we have all and abound.
He is the TRUTH, the WAY and the LIFE, and offers forgiveness of the wages of sin, wiping our slate clean.

Even in this life knowing him in peace, love, & joy deep inside regardless of the storm blowing around us is full bounty.

Excellent post, thank you, Sister.

YES INDEED dear sister .
I want all who reads this to examine what i say next .
Does anyone know where paul was WHEN he wrote that letter .
A . was in a a grand star large house with many chariots , much silver and gold and lots of servants .
B . Or was he in prison for JESUS .
ITS B . the man was actually awaiting a death sentence for serving JESUS .
HE was in prison . YET PAUL HAD ALL CAUSE HE HAD JESUS . WE WIN No matter what we suffer or what comes against us .
PAUL was IN PRISON MY FRIENDS . IN PRISON WHEN HE SAID , I HAVE ALL and I ABOUND . YEAH , cause JESUS was HIS ALL . AS HE IS OURS TOO .
SO lift those hands up and praise the KING CHRIST JESUS .
TOO many folks are way too concerned with their circumstances in this world , what they have or dont have in this world .
BUT its not about this life , its not about earthen treasures , ITS SIMPLY DO WE HAVE JESUS . Ever wonder why
paul and silas could SING AT MIDNIGHT , IN PRISON . IN PRISON . IN PRISON . cause JESUS IS OUR HOPE AND OUR TREASURE AND OUR SALVATION .
NOW Let all that draws breath lift those hands with FOD , thats me , FOD , f lea of dog , AND LET THE KING be praised .
I Desire not the praise of men or recognition from man . I DESIRE ONLY souls to be saved and to KNOW CHRIST JESUS and for us to grow
in the LORD . What peace abounds in the MIND who is stayed upon CHRIST , upon GOD . TO HE BE THE GLORY . SING IT SISTER . SING IT .
