Philippians 4:12-19 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. [13] I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. [14] Notwithstanding you have well done, that you did communicate with my affliction. [15] Now you Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but you only. [16] For even in Thessalonica you sent once and again unto my necessity. [17] Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. [18] But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received …of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God. [19] But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
“I have all, and abound: I am full…”
I’ve been thinking a lot about this “I have all, and abound: I am full…” in regard to depression, anxiety, and struggles…asking “God where?” How could be “I am full”?
Then I thought of a friend.
This friend of mine is there whenever I forget. Bo matter how tired she is; she always takes the time to encourage, remind of better things, and strengthen. Sometimes it is just by her sending a verse for inspiration that day befor I go to work. A friend were even though I get lazy and sometimes take her for granted…she remains there. When I am low and feel forgotten or afraid; she helps with the hunger. her too I think hungering after righteousness by her love bestows upon me. where after we talk; I do feel full; satisfied; filled up again with hope and joy by a good exchange. Hopefully, I do the same for her. I can see she gets down also. yesterday I shared this passage with her and told her that I think of her in “But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of …” she cried and I could tell she also needed encouragement, hope and a “thank you.” …concerning giving and receiving,
I don’t share that except to share about relationship…how powerful it can be. do you have a friend that encourages and lifts you when you struggle to lift yourself?
