I try to thank God daily. For what do I thank him?

Bringing me into existence.
Allowing me to believe in and follow his son.
His word through the scriptures, which are filled
with truth and wisdom and which bring me great
comfort and peace.
My amazing parents who have already gone to
Heaven.
My loving and caring wife.
My beautiful, Christian, children.
And so much more.

Thanking God daily helps me to appreciate how blessed I truly am. I encourage you to try it too and I believe you will grow closer to our Heavenly Father.

Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Who can utter the mighty deeds of the Lord, or declare all his praise?

Counting ones blessings, leads to gratitude and gratitude leads to worship and praise, otherwise it's not gratitude.

Definitely, thanking God must come from the heart...❤️

Psalm 107:8-9"Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things" (NIV).

You may not "feel" anything. You may continue to feel your aches and pains regardless.

Jesus was in pain and dying on the Cross, when he said 3 different things.

One of them while he was praying, or calling out to his Father "Forgive them for they know not what they do."

If we understand what's really happening, we will be grateful even for the pain, knowing that it too is working God's work in my life, forming my heart and mind to be like Jesus.

When we are in pain, we are faced with the reality of our belief, "Is this REALLY for my GOOD?? Considering how terribly difficult this is?" When we answer yes, actually believing that, our faith is built, we join Christ in accepting even suffering according to God's will that we with patience endure.

Much love!

I can't speak for others but thanking God every day has resulted in me having a more positive outlook and instead of grieving loss I instead thank God for the wonderful moments that I had with passed loved ones. I encourage people to try it, besides, we are instructed to do so. :)

Really well said! You're right. We're actually supposed to thank God for the challenges that we encounter in life as they afford us the opportunity to overcome!

Okay. Thank you for sharing.

I don’t disagree. I just don’t think “feelings” are really involved but I’m weird in my perception concerning feelings. Attitude is one thing and feeelings is another.

I’m a stickler for this and don’t know why…

As a believer I have the spirit ( faithfully ) accepting it as true. Some say “ do you feel the spirit “ and that’s a bunch of bologna.

Yes; being thankful is help to keep maintaining your relationship, just as much as admitting weakness to Yahavah, and even your frustrations of life, the things you can’t seem to remove from yourself, is all part of it thank just thankfulness alone.

I’m thankful those days I can just use the bathroom… or have some food, sometimes my sleep is out of wack… selfish reasons? Maybe some things that aren’t anyone’s business don’t need to be made known.

You can thankful to God anywhere, anytime, any day… because the spirit of Christ is within you, and you can ask Yahavah to help you by the Holy Spirit as Jesus said in Luke 11:13…

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭22‬-‭26‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Philippians 4:6-7
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

i know that feeling i experienced it multiple times and i could not explain it either

Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,

I think it's a bit like the glass half full/empty.

Please allow me to make an analogy. A pilot invites you to fly on an F-15. You proceed to have the experience of a lifetime! Thereafter, you thank the pilot and then cherish the memory as opposed to lamenting the likelihood that you will NOT get to do it again.

When I think of a deceased loved one, I prefer to thank God for allowing them into my life and for the good memories rather than mourning my loss. I think it's a healthy and positive way to think and cope.

There's things we're instructed to do that some Christians aren't doing. Like for one, praying. There are those who lack a prayer life, and it's one of the things that lead to Christians being competitive with each other.
