I think I was looking for this thread but couldn't find it so I made one myself. lol

I slept too much today. it's probably bc of medication which I'm withdrawing from. I just reduced a bit yesterday so I hope it will be successful as to the timing I can withdraw from it further since I didn't get a specific timing from my psychiatrist for this kind of medication. :( but after my day was better

Spent the morning trying to set up some new AV equipment at the church. Some essential equipment hadn't arrived when Amazon said it would, a half hour on the phone with our Internet Service provider, trying to get that fixed, another half hour trying to get the church's Facebook Live password reset, another half-hour trying to Read The Friendly Manual ... Murphy's law in all its glory.

I remember trying to become a morning person on my old medication. I set my alarm for 6 am every day but wouldn't wake up till 9am or would snooze that thing over and over again.

On my new medication, today I woke up a couple minutes before my alarm.

I pray you find the right dose for you.

Also, it's so good to see you!

I sometimes get in the mood for chocolate chip cookies without the chocolate chips. Is that a thing? Is that something that only appeals to me?
I don't like chocolate chip cookies really. I used to love them. Lately I've been into kitkat bars. I put them in the fridge and get them cold and crisp. They're super good and don't have too many calories me thinks

I took medication like that. On one med I couldn't get out of bed without three to four cups of coffee and then was only awake for a couple hours at a time. Each time needing three to four cups of coffee. Needless to say that med lasted about as long as the next doctor visit.

I try to read through the Bible and while thats good for familiarity with the Word, its not the way I really grab on to specific Scriptures.

I tend to only memorize Scriptures through what I call "exposure therapy" with Scriptural music, memory apps, and just hearing them read out loud.

Sometimes, its good for me to look up a word thats relevant to me and then find Scriptures that way.

My day has been great so far. I discussed encountering God with the volunteer director.

I can now crank out three pushups in a row and can almost pull myself up all the way on the pullup bar.

I am feeling the joy of the Lord because of His Word and because of good fellowship with other believers.

I think all the IT systems at work are conspiring to vex me. Does that make me paranoid?

To add injury to insult, FedEx lost a package a sent out last week. Arg!
The good news is that the tornado missed the building where I work. Some trees got knocked down. No major damage, and nobody got hurt. So, any day you don't get hit by a tornado has to be considered a good day, right?

I watched a video about how overeating is a sin. It was very balanced. On one hand, there are Scriptures about gluttony and overeating. On the other hand, its not good to shame ourselves over bad choices.

Guilt is specific. Shame is about who you are. Receiving God's forgiveness and grace over our sin restores us. Shame discourages and condemns us.

I am learning to really enjoy my food, but to not overeat as an act of glorifying God. To say I've had enough leads to God, you are enough.

Enough to deal with each emotion as it comes.

Journaling has also become an essential part of my life. I go to my journal as a habit instead of treats.

But best of all, I feel a lot better and healthier from all the positive choices Ive made and Im shutting out the voice of the enemy that would tell me Im not good enough based on my appearance.

I havent stressed about my appearance hardly at all this week. It's like a spiritual avalanche of positivity got unleashed the moment my husband prayed for me last week.

Our lovely granddaughter called this evening. We got an earful about her week. Hoo boy. She's a middle-school teacher down in Texas. God bless her, that's a tough age group 'cuz that's when the hormones are just kicking in. And she doesn't get the support she needs from the parents. Or the administration. This is a tough time to be a teacher. Once again, my wife is thankful she's retired.

I used to believe the enemy's lie that no one notices what I say or do. Because he likes to add that I can live poorly and it makes no difference to anyone else.

But people do notice and they do read things I post and they are observing how I behave.

That's true for all people and its a sobering thought.

I am reforming my desire to get noticed for my looks and wanting instead to be noticed for Christlikeness.

And to think Granddaughter was offered an engineering scholarship! But, she felt called to be a teacher, like Grandma.

Grandma taught elementary school children, and later pre-Kindergarteners in what was basically a private day-care center. Kids are easier to handle at that age. Seventh- and Eighth graders can be "psychotic", to use Granddaughter's term.

And then there's the problems that affect society in general: She had a couple kids get busted in the middle of class for having weed in their backpacks. One kid's mama shot daddy because she was tired of being punched around. Some of her kids are scared to go home; she thinks they're being abused. She caught one boy watching porn on his cell phone in class. One kid doesn't know English and Granddaughter doesn't speak Korean; how do you teach him? She had to sit one girl down and explain why posting nude selfies online is a really, really bad idea. Breaking up fights. Busted families. Racial hostilities. The political animosity that infects this country. Vaping in the restrooms. The boy-girl thing and all that comes with it. (That was always there, but these days, it's hyper-sexualized.)

Tough time to be a kid, too.

Granddaughter has seen a lot in less than a year on the job. They didn't tell her about this stuff in college.
