That is wonderful!
She does really really well. Awesome lip reader, and speaks like a hearing person. That took many years of us doing one on one, but to her credit she practiced for years daily. Had lots of mirrors everywhere particularly for her.
She Went to hearing schools, and was in choir for a couple of years, elementary, would voice and sign, and wanted to try deaf schools in high school, which we allowed.
She did learn to play a few songs on the piano, learning by feeling the piano and then resting her hands on top of another’s to get the feel of how long to hold the keys, and she does dance as well, as the girl you mentioned.
Strong like for reading and taking pictures, and would use magazines cut out body’s and then cut out head pictures from photos, assemble, and write her own stories, assemble to make her own magazines, make “subscriptions” for the family and some friends to buy her magazines...lol
She’s funny too, did “stand up comedy” for us all in sign language.
Kids are resilient.

While walking the Sneaky Labrador down by the river this morning, I ran into the neighbors from across the street. They were going to try the New Year's Day traditional "Polar Bear Plunge" into the river. While the weather has been abnormally warm here, I think they're nuts. That water looks COLD!

There are whole groups of people who dress in fancy dress and plunge into the cold sea here in the UK - this is Cornwall.

Crappy weather today. My cell phone woke me up at 0500 with a screeching Flash Flood warning tone. Thunder & lightning is upsetting the Sneaky Labrador. Later it's supposed to turn into snow, and I need to take my friend in for her radiation treatment. Ah, winter in North Carolina.

It's been dry and overcast here but fairly mild. It's been a morning of doing the bins and recycling and catching up on things. And looking for my little book of Psalms - which I haven't found yet.

Our house is about 100 yards from the river. I just looked out the back window, and we're now about 75 yards from the river. My friend called and said she's going to try and cancel her treatment for today, which is fine by me. I'm going to work from home today anyway.

I hope it doesn't get any closer. There is a river at the bottom of our road but we're on a steep hill so in no danger.

We're fine. There's about a 25 foot elevation change between us and the river. We've been through several hurricanes, and the river never got any closer than about 50 yards. But the roads are going to flood, which is going to be a problem.

We've been getting lots of unprecedented and disastrous flooding in certain areas of the UK over recent years as flood plains are used for building on.

My church is doing 21 days of fasting. Its day one. Already, there is God's indescribable presence.

As I worship, I realize to know God is to know Love. Yes, He is mysterious but that is the closest way to grasp who He is: Love.

I lost a document that was apparently important to keep up with.

I was under the impression it was no longer usable, otherwise I would have kept up with it.

This winter seems long already. The sun goes down too early and that seems to put a damper on my mood.

This particular month seems like a slog to get through. Im not sure what to look forward to in it.

I thought I was getting a handle on being alone while hubby works but after spending a week in the truck with him, things seem really quiet.

Lovely weather today, blue sky and lots on sunshine. Also visits from one of my daughters and my son and his little girl. My hairdresser came and gave me a trim but that was sad as her husband died on December 27th.
