Don't worry about the dogs, dog's naturally adjust to the fireworks:

My wife and stepson thought this picture was hilarious!

The Sneaky Labrador was really spooked by the fireworks last night, worse than usual. It took two of us (one pushing, one pulling) to get her to go outside and do her doggie business. Orange Julius hid behind the shelves in the garage, but Fuzzy Gray Cat just kept on cuddling and purring. I guess street cats consider this "normal".

:D LOL
A lefty eh. I am predominantly right handed but do a lot of things as a lefty, eat, deal cards, left foot leading, some tools, part hair, can write...weird.
My dad was ambidextrous - I think naturally left handed but forced in school to write with his right. Did that happen to you too @Taken

It was very quiet here last night. I only counted three or four fireworks when normally they would go on for ages with the town display as well as individual ones. I watched an Andre Rieu new year concert right through midnight.

We had lots of fireworks and some gun shots and I live in the city. Crazy people out there last night. I was just hoping a bullet didn't pass thru my house.

It's pretty quiet where I live. I think we have ordinances in my town that control noise so I am not faced with loud fireworks banging pots and other stuff.

No. We didn’t have but few possessions before going to school, but always had paper and pencils. Four of the kids and parents were right handed, One lefty. I remember my dad searching for and buying some lefty pencils.

If you notice nearly every pencil and pen that has writing ON it, can be read by a right-hand person when using the pencil. So what I mean by a Lefty pencil was the writing (on the pencil) is in the opposite direction a lefty can read the writing while using the pencil.
I recall an occasion of one teacher trying to get the lefty to change hands, and she said no, Dad said, and my pencil is for the left hand...LOL

One of my grandsons found it very difficult learning to write until they realised he was a leftie.

I can relate. We had two of our own and a niece daily (babysitting) all 4 years and younger, and also a baby, who mimicked the other kids, selecting books, playing with toys, singing, jabbering on a play phone, etc. and the baby was nearly 2 yrs old Before we knew she was profoundly deaf.

I hope it won't hold her back in any way. The winner of 'Strictly Come Dancing' this year was a girl who is profoundly deaf and couldn't hear the music.

That is wonderful!
She does really really well. Awesome lip reader, and speaks like a hearing person. That took many years of us doing one on one, but to her credit she practiced for years daily. Had lots of mirrors everywhere particularly for her.
She Went to hearing schools, and was in choir for a couple of years, elementary, would voice and sign, and wanted to try deaf schools in high school, which we allowed.
She did learn to play a few songs on the piano, learning by feeling the piano and then resting her hands on top of another’s to get the feel of how long to hold the keys, and she does dance as well, as the girl you mentioned.
Strong like for reading and taking pictures, and would use magazines cut out body’s and then cut out head pictures from photos, assemble, and write her own stories, assemble to make her own magazines, make “subscriptions” for the family and some friends to buy her magazines...lol
She’s funny too, did “stand up comedy” for us all in sign language.
Kids are resilient.

In my city, some damn-fool fired a gun into the air to celebrate New Year's. What goes up, must come down, and some lady was killed by the falling bullet. Idiots.

While walking the Sneaky Labrador down by the river this morning, I ran into the neighbors from across the street. They were going to try the New Year's Day traditional "Polar Bear Plunge" into the river. While the weather has been abnormally warm here, I think they're nuts. That water looks COLD!

Yes, that was what I was worried of. One night of fun. and the rest of your life in hell. The FBI could figure that out I'm sure. Their smart.
