I didn't look at the vid - and that is because there is an obvious problem even with the title "Use the Devil's traits to defeat him!!!!

We don't and do not want to ever use the traits of the devil to defeat anyone, including the devil!!!!!!!!!

What we Christians are supposed to be doing - and this should be plainly obvious to anyone calling themselves a "Christian", - is that we are to follow Jesus Christ!!!!

That means we are using the traits of Jesus Christ in all things we do!!!!!

Jesus - by using His traits - defeat the devil and death!!!!

How is this not plainly and completely obvious to any Christian??????

I found this message on YouTube and I found it helpful. I feel it can be helpful to someone here.

The bible says we are to draw nigh to God and resist the devil as the way to defeat him.

Also the whole armour of god! And if you look, trhe only offensive weapon a believer has is the sword of the spirit which is the Word of God. This is the only way to overcome Satan. Anything else, the devil laughs.

Because satan studies people weaknesses. Ephesians chapter 2, satan is the prince of the air, he works in children of disobedience.
Look at alcoholism. Our nation is crippled by it. Package store practically on every street corner.
What's more insane. Health centers profit off of it. The alcholhics go through a revolving door, and the health insurance company wins. The temptation is thier. Or peer pressure.
What's the point. Thier in bondage !.
Acts chapter 26:18. . Only God can deliver them from the powers of darkness.
Pride keeps many people from coming to the cross.
Epistle John chapter 3 tells us the difference between Christian sinners and habitual sinners. The Christian, doers of the word, will repent, are obedience to God.
The habitual sinners don't care and won't repent. They don't care about going to hell.
Thier are some people who are soft touch. When persecution comes. They fold and go back into ways of the world.
Others are lured into entertainment or lusts or worldly affairs.
This is entrapment by the devil. He keeps people biblically illiterate and away from God.
Pride is another tool devil uses. Many people go to college, and get master degrees and doctors degrees.
They think they found success!. Satan has deluded thier minds. They think money or prestige is success.
Thier putting thier confidence in wealth or self consolidation. Leaving God out of their life is their downfall.

Satan uses entrapment. He keeps people in Bondage. Thier success is failure.
Why??. No spirtual Growth !.
False preachers are main tool also. Satan uses them to keep people in Bondage.

No spirtual growth! We see how the devil uses entrapment.
Powers of darkness have the majority on the wrong path.
What's the answer??
Ephesians chapter 6 . Gospel armour. Knowledge and wisdom of God's word.

Satan doesn't only use bondage to sin, but also bondage to authoritarian systems. I once had a discussion about sharia law with a Muslim man. He made a good point that it is effective at keeping otherwise unrighteous people in line with the threat of punishment, such that they do not corrupt society. There is no way out, it is Islamic law, and anyone born under it better bow the knee or they will be reeducated, if they are lucky.

An authoritarian system is not limited to Islam, but to the JWs, if you want to leave you may be disowned by your family. Other examples exist.

And governments resort to this as well. The virtues of liberty are in truthful motivations and in voluntary sacrifice.

Yet let us not forget Jesus will rule with an iron scepter, so perhaps man will finally be proven inept in his stewardship when the motivations of his heart are proven to be wicked and his coerced sacrifices lacking.

But the iron scepter refers to the smashing of the nations into pieces. And not necessarily authoritarian governance. Smaller nations may prove less corruptible.

As I can't imagine God backtracking on worship in Spirit and in Truth.

What do you suppose 'ruling with an iron sceptor' means?

I have a question regarding nations, (considering I am someone who believes Satan is done away with) though we can have wars go on still today, that is just a given. Would you consider the nations - the twelve tribes of Israel? Just wondering if you may have ever heard something like this, or been asked the question.

When nations is looked in greek it deals with the ethnos - the ethnic group(s). Anyway all the best, IForrest.

If we base it on the pottery reference in Revelation 2:27 it could mean fragmenting the nations. This is achieved through the wrath of God against the nations.

Thanks, never heard that. And not sure how it would apply except when people gather together in nations, like they did in Babel.

'God's wrath', 'dashing them to pieces' ....does that sound like one who in his dying moments say's 'Father forgive them they don't know what they do' ?

Would you consider another interpretation?

I don't have a problem with God being capable of wrath. Judgement was not part of Jesus' ministry on earth, but he still promised it and even proved himself able.

however, would you countenance another way of seeing, of hearing and of understanding?
