Hello everyone,
Just wanted to share a small ministry I've got going on with a book I self published.

(link removed: please read the forum rules re: links and new members)

It's a Christian novel that includes a good bit of apologetics. My intention was to provide spiritual guidance for our three grown sons, but someone suggested others may benefit if self published and listed on Amazon. Feedback so far has been very positive. Some have identified with the character's spiritual struggles. Some have been touched by the religious conversions. Some have improved understanding of scientific/philosophical concepts, etc... Hearing that others found it helpful is the reason I'm promoting it by posting on this site - nothing to do with making a financial profit or gaining notoriety.

Efforts so far involve mostly purchasing author copies and giving them away to friends, family, church members, local libraries, and to others interested.

"A fast paced drama of four life-long friends, each with different belief systems, in search of "absolute truth". Follow along as a politically powerful, devout Christian, with a genius IQ, emerges to lead his close friends through a caring, respectful, nonjudgemental process utilizing scientific apologetics and sound reasoning. As time progresses, main characters are impacted by terrible tragedies such as betrayal, murder, natural disaster, school shootings, war, alcoholism, even a drug cartel hit. They also experience exciting successes such as receiving a Noble Peace Prize, creating a global faith based philanthropic organization, and most importantly - helped others achieve an eternity of Love, Joy, Peace, and Purpose"

Was it a difficult book for you to write? How long did it take to write it? Is it written from the perspective of a particular denomination? What age group is it written for?

Overall, It was a fascinating process. I'm not a professional writer (retired Engineer), so it took over a year to complete. Really enjoyed the apologetics research.

Regarding the character life events - someone suggested to NOT plan it all out, just start writing and let it go where it goes so I wasn't sure if the nonbelievers would find God or not. Favorite part is the end.

Yes, some parts were very difficult. I was stuck on the school shooting scenario for about a month as I couldn't mentally go there.

Not written from particular denomination perspective, although I did mention the believers were involved in a nondenominational church.

Age - for teens on up. I have a real concern for young believers entering secular university's where their beliefs will be challenged and ridiculed. Those kids need to be prepared to defend their faith with sound apologetics!

Great, great, spiritual experience for me. Learned so much! Shared many meaningful discussions with others throughout.
Thank you for your interest.
