It is scriptural. And the Word of God is our authority.
Indeed, but what's not scriptural is what some charasmatics practice which they call baptism of the holy spirit.

No he wasn't. He was saying God gives us power over temptation, just the opposite of what you thought.
Indeed, but what's not scriptural is what some charasmatics practice which they call baptism of the holy spirit.
You need to go back and read what he posted.
He implied that God will choose people who can withstand the temptation of operating in the power of the spirit, but the spirit doesn't tempt.
You're wrong again.
I only use the term baptism of the Holy Spirit in the way Jesus used it - to receive power. Acts 1:5 and 8. Not carnal power as you've been obsessed with, but the power to not sin, keeping the righteous requirements of the law, and to operate the gifts of the Spirit given to us to strengthen the Church 1 Cor. 12:7-11, and ourselves individually, Mark 16:16-18
Have you ever been baptized with the Spirit of Christ? Did you receive power?
I'm wrong, or Gids is wrong? What do I believe?
The book of Acts is not a grain of sand, but a mountain you went around.whatever. You are making a mountain out of an grain of sand.
You have no sin?Of course the law was present. Only through Jesus does one enter into the New Covenant. Now are you still in the Old Covenant and are struggling, or have you received the power of the Holy Spirit and are now walking in the Spirit? Because if one doesn't have the Spirit inside them, they do not belong to Christ. Romans 8:9.
What I object to with you, is your insistence that Romans 7 applied to Paul as if he didn't have the Spirit. We go from death to life, we do not have two natures at the same time. We need to stay in the Spirit and endure there to the end.
Ok. Let's dig a little deeper.
But first I'll answer your questions: yes I've been baptized with the Spirit of Christ and yes I recieved power.
Now will you answer a question of mine? What is the process of being baptized in the spirit in detail according to the way you practice it?
And let's be fair, who would be more obsessed with power? Someone who calls it out for what it is, or someone who makes a whole thread about power. You are purposefully looking the other way. Be honest.
You have no sin?
This is written to born again saints in the present tense....Right. I am born of God. 1 John 3:9. All you have to do is never do anything your conscience would bother you about. And my conscience is super-sensitized, so I don't willfully sin. Any failures unwittingly committed are trespasses, Leviticus 5:15, and we must not have any unforgiveness toward any of our brethren, and those trespasses are forgiven. It is the only type of sin in the Lord's prayer. Read it in Matthew 6 and also the next verses 14-15. Remember I am 73 so I've had many years of practice, and know I am in good standing because His word says (below) that if our heart does not condemn us we have assurance toward God, and all our prayers are answered because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. And seeing as all my prayers do get answered, and I receive what He tells me to pray, I know He has kept me sinless, and taught me everything I need to know to actually be pleasing in His sight. This is what I teach, and want everyone to have this same actual assurance, and not the myth that goes along with some of the false teachings out there that are nothing more than doctrines of demons spreading false assurances.
1 John 3:21-24.
@Pearl This is indeed what Romans 8.9 says: "If any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His."To receive Jesus means to have him living in you by His Holy Spirit. This is how you are able to live the New Life in Christ. If you don't have the Spirit within you then you aren't born again and so you're not a Christian.
Amen, and this Spirit entering mankind is seen in Acts 2.To receive Jesus means to have him living in you by His Holy Spirit. This is how you are able to live the New Life in Christ. If you don't have the Spirit within you then you aren't born again and so you're not a Christian.
You see you are still avoiding the very words of Jesus
Jesus said "He who believes and is baptized will be saved" (Mk 16:16)
Belief + baptism = salvation
Jesus didn't say believe and be saved and then get baptised.
Where does scripture say "Water Baptism is a public declaration of the inward reality and commitment that has taken place already"?
Answer - it doesn't
Jesus said: "He who believes and is baptized will be saved"
Baptism is the normal way of salvation that Jesus gave us.
People who don't believe in baptismal regeneration always try and avoid this text just as you have done thrice now..
The book of Acts is not a grain of sand, but a mountain you went around.
This is written to born again saints in the present tense....
[8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
This is the carnal man that Paul is speaking of in Romans 7 that opposed his walk with God.
To receive Jesus means to have him living in you by His Holy Spirit. This is how you are able to live the New Life in Christ. If you don't have the Spirit within you then you aren't born again and so you're not a Christian.
Right. Absolutely right. And you don't commit willful sins either, anymore than Jesus inside you would. Right?
