Did anyone live to 1,000 years old?
"Was the law enforce?" Yes! As a result of Cains sin he was punished by God;
Gen.4
"[11] And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;
[12] When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.
The penalty for sin is death, the second death. As the scriptures tell us, God is merciful and does not always require death as a punishment for sin. But there are times when He does kill to be used as an example.
"Was Cain put to death for killing Able?" According to the scriptures, No!
.
So what are the wages of murder according to the Law.
Rom.6
[23] For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
But one must understand WHAT death is being spoken of.
Heb.9
[27] And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
The death spoken of above is for ALL men reguardless of sin.
But the death spoken of that is the result of sin is the second death. The one that is eternal!
Rev.21
[8] But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
As I said earlier....we will have to wait until judgement to see if God punished Cain according to the law.
Who know's, that may have been Cain's only sin.
Our God IS merciful!!!!
.
.
Let me help you out. Exd 21:12¶He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death. Was Cain put to death for killing his brother?
Let me help you out. Exd 21:12¶He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death. Was Cain put to death for killing his brother?
I understand what you are saying. No....Cain was NOT put to death at that moment for killing his brother. But that does not mean God was not enforcing His laws.
Again you must understand WHAT death is being spoken of for the wages of sin.
Killing this mortal body is NOT the death God is talking about for committing sin.
If that were the case, God would have put Adam to death for his sins. And the same would go for EVERYBODY!
"For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not."
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
But as God's word says....
"...The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,..."
I thank God He did not put to death this mortal body of mine for not keeping His laws and commandments.
.
It means that Cain was not under the Law.
So you are trying to say just because Cain was not put to death for murdering Able he was not under the law?
Let me ask you....Did Moses sin? Did ALL of those that came after Moses sin? Let's read God's word....
"For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not."
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
"And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world."
Did God put ALL that sinned to death the moment they sinned? Was not Moses under the law? Were not ALL the phophets under the law? All of them sinned but God did not put them to death for it. As a matter of fact God said they died, "...with a good report..."
God's word says ALL have sinned. And what is sin? Let's read......
1 John 3
[4] Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
So who has trangressed God's laws?
THE WHOLE WORLD!
How can you break the law and yet not be under the curse of the law. Does not make sense!
And what is the curse of the law? Death....the SECOND DEATH!!! Now let's read who it was that removed the curse of the law for ALL.....
Gal.3
[13] Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Now was the "us" just for the nation of Israel? Of course not! It was for EVERYBODY!!! WHY?
Let's read it again......
"For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not."
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
"And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world."
And how was that curse removed?
Heb.9
[22] And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Let me ask you....
Was Adam under the law?
.
For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. Romans 10:1-10
The word that was preached was the scripture: 1 Peter 1: 19-21 [sup]19[/sup]We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: [sup]20[/sup]Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
[sup]21[/sup]For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
So there is more sure word of prophecy... The scriptures or the OT was preached in Paul's time. Holy men of God spake as they were moved or instructed by the Holy Ghost.
So my thing is this, if the law of God existed before man was created, hence Satan breaking the law, or sinning. Jesus establishing the Sabbath during creation. And Jesus giving the law to Adam, who broke the commandment of having no other God before me. Which brought sin upon man kind. Jesus gave the thou shall not murder, which Cain broke. Jesus gave the dietary or clean and unclean law to Noah read Gen 7:2, This was all done verbally. Then he wrote the laws down, and gave them to Moses. Which also includes the sabbath day. I can't understand how these laws can be called the mosaic laws. These are all the laws of God.
The only law that was crucified to the cross, was the sacrificial law.

I see I am not the only one on this forum God has blessed with wisdom and understanding.
"For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed." OT
"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." NT
I know most just do not get this, but the (2) verses above speaks about the SAME person!
.
I am sure you meant 2 Peter 1: 19-21
This is a covenant, not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old way ends in death....... That old system of law etched in stone led to death,
What law was carved into stone and where did it lead?
First things first......we have strayed way away from the lesson of, "How to you observe your Sabbath"
I do have a few lessons on God's law's and also a few on the laws that Paul taught, which I will post in the future.
But for now, if we could, let's try to stay focused on God's sabbath and how HE said it is to be observed.
If you do not believe God has given us rules on how His sabbath is to be observed, then sobeit. That goes against the word of God, but that is your choice!
This lesson is to let those that may not know, that God indeed has rules that are to be obeyed concerning His sabbath. And they are the following;
1. We ARE to rest on the Sabbath. Lev.23:3 "...but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest..."
2. We are NOT to cook on the Sabbath. Ex.16:23,26 "...bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning. Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.
3. We are NOT to do any manner of work (If it can be avoided,) on the Sabbath. Lev.23:3 "Six days shall work be done...ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
4. We ARE to have an Holy Convocation on the Sabbath. Lev.23:3 "...but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation..."
5. We are NOT to buy or sell on Gods Sabbath, if it can be avoided. Neh.13:15-22 "In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals." "And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day."
6. We are NOT to engage in our own pleasures on God‘s Sabbath. Isa.58:13,14 "If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:" "Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it."
So there you have it. Six simple Rules God gave us so that we would know how HE wants us to serve Him on HIS sabbath day.
Again....if you do not agree, sobeit. This lesson is not for you. This lesson is for those that, as God word says;
"And the rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the porters, the singers, the Nethinims, and all they that had separated themselves from the people of the lands unto the law of God, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, every one having knowledge, and having understanding;
They clave to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in God's law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the LORD our Lord, and his judgments and his statutes;"
This lesson is for those that have chosen to separate themselves from those that choose not to keep God's laws, and for those that have knowledge and understanding. To encourage them to continue in God's laws.
