The Holy Spirit came to me. It was a supernatural experience. That's how I know.
However, I am not saying that is a requirement for all. Do you meet the salvation requirements of Scripture? Roman 10:9, those who exclaim Jesus is Lord and God raised him from the dead will be saved.
Obviously, the gates of heaven will not be breached by mere lip service. Do you really meet the Romans 10:9 criteria? It is a matter of life or death. Hence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

The "evidence" is being free from sin. That is what happens when we are born again of the Spirit. That is why Jesus said, we MUST be born again.
Romans 6:6-22
6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Look at your life, do you feel ashamed of it? Do you pretend to be someone you're not? Do you condemn others? Do you help others? Do you give love freely to all people? This will determine how you will be judged.

This don’t fly with many people which is their choice… But I am not sidelining your thread to deliberate this with others….. If you have questions, I am happy to answer them.
The only way I am aware of in the Word of God that allows you know of a certainty you are born again is by speaking in tongues ….which is available to all believers ….it’s not a gift ….it’s a manifestation of the gift… of the spirit you were given at the new birth.
1Co 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
A literal of verse 3, could be: “Because you were led away by dumb idols in the past. I want to declare unto you that no one who is speaking in tongues is denouncing or calling Jesus accursed. And no one is really capable of declaring that Jesus is lord in their life except by way of speaking in tongues, which is the spirit in manifestation.
You know you are saved, because you have believed Jesus is God, He died and rose again.. and that by entrusting your salvation with Him you have eternal life.

This is one of the most important questions in the Christian life. Many believers doubt their salvation because they don’t see signs of genuine faith in their lives. There are those who say we should never doubt our decision to follow Christ, but the Bible encourages us to examine ourselves to see if we are truly “in the faith” (2 Corinthians 13:5). Thankfully, God has given us ample instruction for how we can know for sure that we have eternal life. The first epistle of John was actually written for that purpose, as it states in 1 John 5:13, "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life."
There is a series of tests in 1 John that we can use to examine ourselves and our faith. As we look at them, remember that no one will perfectly fulfill all of them all the time, but they should reveal a consistent trend that characterizes our lives as we grow in grace.
1. Do you enjoy having fellowship with Christ and His redeemed people? (1 John 1:3)
2. Would people say you walk in the light, or walk in the darkness? (1 John 1:6-7)
3. Do you admit and confess your sin? (1 John 1:8)
4. Are you obedient to God’s Word? (1 John 2:3-5)
5. Does your life indicate you love God rather than the world? (1 John 2:15)
6. Is your life characterized by "doing what is right"? (1 John 2:29)
7. Do you seek to maintain a pure life? (1 John 3:3)
8. Do you see a decreasing pattern of sin in your life? (1 John 3:5-6) [Note: this refers to not continuing in sin as a way of life, not a total absence of sin.]
9. Do you demonstrate love for other Christians? (1 John 3:14)
10. Do you "walk the walk," versus just "talking the talk"? (1 John 3:18-19)
11. Do you maintain a clear conscience? (1 John 3:21)
12. Do you experience victory in your Christian walk? (1 John 5:4)
If you are able to truthfully answer "Yes" to these questions (or a majority of them, and are working on the others), then your life is bearing the fruit of true salvation. Jesus said that it is by our fruits that we are known as His disciples (Matthew 7:20). Fruitless branches—professing believers who do not display the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) are cut off and thrown into the fire (John 15:6). A genuine faith is one that not only believes in God (the demons themselves do that - James 2:19), but leads to open confession of sin and obedience to Christ’s commands. Remember, we are saved by grace through faith, not by our works (Ephesians 2:8-9), but our works should display the reality of our salvation (James 2:17-18). Genuine saving faith will always produce works; a faith that is perpetually without works is no faith at all and saves no one.
In addition to these confirmations, we need to remember God’s promises and the reality of the war we are in. Satan is just as real as Jesus Christ, and he is a formidable enemy of our souls. When we turn to Christ, Satan will look for every opportunity to deceive and defeat us. He will try to convince us that we are unworthy failures or that God has given up on us. When we are in Christ, we have the assurance that we are kept by Him. Jesus Himself prayed for us in John 17:11 that the Father would "protect them by the power of your name—the name you gave me—so that they may be one as we are one." Again in verse 15, He prayed, "keep them from the evil one."
In John 10:27-29, Jesus said, "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand." If you hear and obey the voice of Jesus, then you are one of His sheep, and He will never let you go. Jesus gave a wonderful word picture here of Christians securely held within His loving hands and the Father’s almighty hands wrapping themselves around His, giving us a double assurance of eternal security.

i have a simple guide that i use, never failed me yet; if they say that they are "saved" i know that they are as lost as two boys kissing :)

Well....if speaking in tongues is available to all believers, it means they are already saved.
Btw. I don't think tongue speaking is a condition to be saved. But of course I am not a United Pentecostal ;-)

Now look at this:
When you are sick call upon the elders of the church, according to scripture, after anointing with oil and laying on of hands the sick will be healed.
But most of them, after this procedure, are still sick.
So, how can you be sure you are saved, and when following biblical instructions for being healed does not work??
See where I am getting at?

I am just rocking the boat here a bit.
Because I have seen it all in various churches from various preachers.
Be careful.
People go through the motions of becoming "born again" which is the requirement for salvation.
(It says you MUST be BORN AGAIN)
After that people say "I am saved".
Now look at this:
When you are sick call upon the elders of the church, according to scripture, after anointing with oil and laying on of hands the sick will be healed.
But most of them, after this procedure, are still sick.
So, how can you be sure you are saved, and when following biblical instructions for being healed does not work??
See where I am getting at?

What one thinks they "know" and what one actually knows, are two different things; and "believing" is neither.
If one has this thinking/knowing/believing clearly defined, the answer to whether you are saved or not, is that you know it.
You know that you are changed, that you may have all the same old memories as you did before, but not the same wants and desires, not the same outlook on most of life. You also know you are not alone, as if your conscience is now gone and in its place is another that is you, but not you...which is by evidences in your actions and thoughts from that first moment on, Jesus in the form of the Holy Spirit. And yes, others will notice a change in you too.
But having said all that, it is not what you hope and merely believe is true, not unknowingly apparent just because that is perhaps the way you would think it is supposed to be. That's called wishful thinking...and if that is all you have experienced, it's not that you need to have seen the heavens part or heard a voice from heaven, for it is often rather "a still, small voice" only in spirit. But if you question whether or not you are saved--pray, and keep praying, that God reveal Himself to you and in you, that you may "know"...and He will answer. But be patient. If He does not soon answer, you should consider it His grace--He is being gentle by not letting you down hard, not with a shock of great difference, but little by little as any good parent would do for their child. Walk then in His promise, in hope. Focus on being a good student and a good listener--not of men, but of the spirit of God whom has drawn you...and do this knowing that the Spirit cannot be seen by you just yet, but rather can be witnessed. And then shall come the day when He makes Himself "known" to you--when He and you are both ready.

ok then, the two boys kissing might endure to the end, whereas the testifier of self "i am saved" is just deceived
