Once the public accepted the fantasy that people are born gay, a lawyer was able to argue that discrimination against gay people was a civil rights issue.

Even so, are American courts infallible? I don't think so. Consider the case of abortion. The Supreme Court has reversed itself on this issue just recently. Were they right the first time or this time?

But we have gone so far afield of the question that we have lost the topic. Our locus of our debate is centered on the oughtness of homosexually. In my opinion, and I have argued here, homosexuality is wrong for the reasons I gave. Whether it is legal is a different question. Some of us know that not all that is legal is moral.
