In this episode we investigate hidden mysteries of the bible by comparing spiritual things with spiritual, and all according to Christ who is the key to all wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
@Episkopos what threw me immediately is the definition of what are
the treasures of darkness, what are
the hidden riches of secret places?
He said “they hold the truth in unrighteousness” kept in darkness, where if any hates his brother he is in darkness still. What are the “hidden riches” of “secret places”? It’s the
hidden things of Christ
in the heart. “I will give unto you the “hidden things” of “secret places” if this is “hearts”, it’s a great promise from Him who reveals hearts. Not something hidden in the secrets places of the Bible BUT a promise regarding “the heart”. Active. Hopeful. transformative. More needful than more wisdom revealed for brother and brother to debate over. “The heart”
I don’t know who Cyrus is, but the promise of going before and cutting the bars of iron(referring to the bars of iron upon hearts), and I’ll make the crooked places, straight all points to Jesus Christ who inherited the promises: the treasures of darkness for a Light has shined unto those who sit in darkness …
Isaiah 45:3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places,
that you may know that I, the LORD, which call you by thy name, am the God of Israel.
Luke 2:34-35 And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold,
this child (Jesus)is set
for the fall (death)and
rising again (Resurrection) of many in Israel; and for a sign
which shall be spoken against; John 15:22-25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.) 35] (Yea, a sword shall pierce through your own soul also,)
that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed. (the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places,
that you may know that I, the LORD, which call you by thy name, am the God of Israel.)
1 Corinthians 14:24-26 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believe not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: [25] And thus are
the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth. [26] How is it then, brethren? when you come together, every one of you has a psalm, has a doctrine, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation.
Let all things be done unto edifying. 1 Peter 3:2-4 that they may behold
your chaste conversation coupled with fear. [3] Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; [4]
But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
Regardless of one’s views on these verses …they help with the focus being on “the heart”
Daniel 2:29-30 As for you, O king,
your thoughts came into your mind upon your bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and
he that reveals secrets makes known to you what shall come to pass. [30](very important, the reason why and
for whom the secrets are revealed for) But as for me,
this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but
for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that
you might know the thoughts of your heart.
Is this not what happened to the one who come into the church? Falling on his face and worshipping God? His own thoughts of his heart revealed to him?
God tells us He
is not a God far off but near…and God who sees the hearts there is no secret places to hide from God:
Jeremiah 23:23-26 Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off? [24]
Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? says the LORD.
Do not I fill heaven and earth? says the LORD. [25]
I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. [26] How long shall this be
in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of
the deceit of their own heart;
Important “I have made Esau bare…because Jesus Christ will do it!
Jeremiah 49:10-11 But
I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not. [11] Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me.
Here is exactly what was told would happen to Esau!
I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not. John 15:22-25 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin:
but now they have no cloke (cover) for their sin. , (I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself)[23] He that hates me hates my Father also. [24] If I had not done among them the works which none other man did,
they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. [25] But
this cometh to pass, that
the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
Point is …How wonderful are
the treasures of darkness,
the hidden riches of secret places? I will give thee the treasures!
